I was specifically referring to barabara, who in the emails where i asked for a discount neglected to mention any sale and in fact advised me to buy asap...

would it not THEN have been logical to mention there is a sale starting imminently...?

OK, so will you (SPT) honor the 100USD discount seeing as my order is still    'pending & unfulfilled'   $940.00   ?

if you bought via my link i'm willing to put $100 of my own earned commission to ensure you get that discount Ed.

 Smiley

go on, make me feel awful!

i really should have used your link and now regret not taking a bit of time to discuss it with you all.

brack friday bunduru - indeed

damn sometimes mining DGM on a small pool isn't all it's cracked up to be!

IE - hold on until tomorrow...

im stunned!!

he seems to have disappeared along with significant numbers of altcoins.

i hope he is ok, but am now at the point of concern

cheers ... i'dring now some nice w. thanks for the job! if the sync is done i'open the stratum port ... end setup the coind in normal work.

did you ever get a 0 balance after you opened the new wallet daemon? it's happening to all my wallet

tekcoind --salvagewallet fixed it. i see my balances now

Do you see my balances now too??

It would be nice if you could respond to my numerous emails.

do any of you guys know anything about dsync/directpool operator x3maniac aka novaspirit?

I am at 1.5.8, I just reapplied it to see and it didn't make any difference. Once the intake temp drops to 0 or lower it stops hashing. I'll get about 100 shares processed and then it stops mining. After several minutes the entire unit will reboot and go through the same sequence.

Are You did not read the specification ?

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/sp10-dawson-mid-june-batch

Ambient Operating Temperature 0 °C to 35 °C

They said the same thing for the SP20\3x and were still able to provide a fix for them. I'm sure the same logic can be applied here hopefully.

kind of.. hopefully

but in FACT when the fw was updated for LOWER temp stability, my SP3x became intolerant of previously acceptable HIGHER (35+) ambient temps.

which is a shame as my 4.7 TH SP30 is now a 4.1 TH SP30.

i have attempted to address this issue on a number of occasions but got ZERO response.

i would be overjoyed if the vermin who promoted KnC to begin with were also found liable!
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 25, 2014, 09:17:56 AM

"Dedicated to scrypt mining"

Awwww, KnC, so close, so very close with yesterday's experiment with time-travel.

Shall we say it again a little louder in case you didn't want to hear it properly the first time, "DEDICATED TO SCRYPT MINING".

Your words, not ours.

Not a lot of grey area there. Fairly cut and dry, wouldn't you say?

and in the world of altcoin mining, it is recurrent that the most profitable coin to mine is a coin which you mine at launch, and as soon as possible, cashout to BTC on some toy exchange or other. Call it 'prospecting'.
For me, this has been a good way to make some half-decent profit from altcoins (scrypt specifically)

today, I would recommend that titans should all be mining this, if the miner worked correctly as it was advertised: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=871506.0

making any kind of profit from LTC mining alone is tough, KfC have INTENTIONALLY misled their customers continually and continue to do so.

i'm sure the mass majority of the people who bought that miner, certainly wouldn't have done so if they thought all they could mine with it was Litecoin.
changing the specifications after the fact is a serious breach of trading standards.

ps. i'm selling a car. anyone want to buy my car? it's $10k and will get you for A -> B
it's the most efficient car you can buy.

you forgot to add 'No Refunds' etc...
1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: November 25, 2014, 04:38:41 AM
Home mining is already near death. It's sad to see it have happened to the Scrypt ASIC so soon. Only those whom can get the miners for wholesale prices and are also paying discounted electric bills stand a chance at ROI. The rest will be lucky to ROI, if ever!!!

not sure if you're aware but even a negative return is still 'ROI'.

what you may mean is BREAK EVEN - at which i would agree. The rest will be lucky to break even..
1134  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 25, 2014, 03:48:39 AM
due to the constant overheating during noon hours since upgrading to 2.5.12 i have lowered max watts & max volts on my sp30.

the hash rate on the gui hardly changed but the pool shows a significant loss (500-700GH)

if im not mistaken, 2.5.12 was specifically tailored to the problem/s associated with near zero temps.

1135  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 24, 2014, 02:50:14 PM
okay my sp20 arrived fedex sent it early.  woke me up and I answered the door half dressed.  but this is not the story.

I open the box gear looks good.  So I was wondering how do I set this up. I go to the site of sp-tech and do not see much for set up.

This thread is 450 pages so plain and simple were are the setup instructions's.

I do not mind starting a thread on setup with a ton of photos and links.

thanks for help

myminer.io

it should be pretty straight forward from there. pool settings etc.

e2a - depending on your environment & factory settings, you may need to;

upgrade firmware

increase fan speed - 80-100
max watts - 285 - 288
startup voltage - 0.68
max voltage - 0.75

BOL!

not come across YB nor Mona yet
1137  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 24, 2014, 04:47:34 AM
you must have some special tiny long 'hose' compressed air to be able to get at those lower heatsinks...

but then pretty much everything you said is based upon NON-ASIC hardware.

i am yet to see any ASIC hardware that doesnt need to be opened for one reason or another regardless who assumes to the contrary.. (please try to refrain from pointlessly mentioning single chip usb miners!)

since upgrading to 2.5.12 (the improve stabilty FW) - the fans were auto lowered causing overheating. Once that was 'rectified' despite silence from SPT i noticed that even with Max watts lowered the rig STILL runs hotter than it did on 2.3.46 FW

trying to operate at a profit means these rigs need to be running at optimal 24/7, anything less (including RMA) shaves off the limited profit potential.

or am i living in a cuckoo clock??

Please provide images of yourself cleaning the lower back heatsinks using compressed air - unless you are just guessing, which i assume you must be if you havent voided your 90 day limited warranty by opening the lid without permission!

Its pretty tight in there...

1138  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 23, 2014, 01:33:14 PM

since you only have 4 days on your warranty why not post a few photos of the issue and maybe some of us  can figure a way to clean your heatsinks.
I am a compulsive tinkerer when I get my sp20 I will most likely do a long thread on how to make it work better. I will post 20 or more photos and I will post the policy that mentions you break it you are on your own.
to be fair to the builders of gear they do need some control over people the tinker with the gear.

Thanks bud, but i already snipped out the front panel, and cleaned the ones that i could reach with a toothbrush.

i may post a pic or 2 tomorrow, and the next time i have a power cut i shall attempt to take the top board off to clean the lower back 9 heat sinks. (maybe check out the thermal paste? under there)

Guys!!!! Some1 Help me pleeeeease
I bought my 3 KNC Titans in june, but they just got produced today, after several months, and the LTC is already in 90USD/day with the 3 machines, what could i do???
Does the Titan mine Scrypt-N?
And what is the hash for that???
Can someone send me a tutorial for setup?
I am going to pick them in sweden next week...

My warmest condolences.

welcome to the club my only hope is they get alt coin fast block mining to work and I go 'unicorn hunting' at an elec loss for the next
dodge coin success on day 1  type coin of the future....(hey it could happen..i could win the lottery....i could make a warp drive for cash etc)

kinda glad i had to do this as a biz at least i can get equip depreciation 25% on the Titan 7.6k loss is less trama

so live an learn i guess ...talk to a CPA with 3 Titans I'd call myself a home biz and write of 25% in equip depreciation $$$ towards
taxes in real cash (5yrs 20% a year) of the loss or at least look into such
with 3 titans you certainly would look like a hard core small biz startup thats for sure only angle I have on all this so far

and also my condolences as well........it does suck...

From what I can find, the best rate you'll pay in Sweden for electricity is about 8 eurocents per kWh, which isn't very good. That's what large mines and data centres pay.
Shish... Try 43 cents a Kilowatthour...  8 cents is friggin cheap compared to The Big I.
But now solar saved me. (Yep, Jupiter coin was spent to get it)
GoodBye 350 to 550 a month electric bills.
Wish Neppie or Titan could do the same but ever since they went corporate with Brock and other idiots the whole company went down the toilet.

shhhh....don't tell edgar you sold high on btc and bought a massive solar setup and are off the grid....
he might bring up that whole 'mastermind' thing again evil genius that you obviously are ..heh Smiley

(wonder what old edgar has been saying lately....since i last saw him quoted ...he really does need some mental health help)

ah the joys of /ignore i can say what I please and not have to read edgar..sorry to you guys who don't have him on /ignore after this post

by the way phoneix's solar setup is big enough he is COMPLETELY OFF the grid and is buying back in the coin he sold back a heck of a lot cheaper

me I just be still a holding

heh.....well at least someone did good with their BTC mined from KNC and was smart enough to get refuned on the Neptune in time!

as for my Titan to be fair it does make a fairly good space heater..

the joys of (half-feigned) ignorance.... i've heard its bliss.

1140  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 23, 2014, 11:03:02 AM
There is no need to do any physical modifications inside the unit.
Everything that should have been cleaned cleaned at the factory.

Some people, who are technical, changed fans or made emersion cooling systems and so far that didn't cause any problems.
But you must be aware that if someone changes something and the units stops working we have the right to decide that the warranty no longer applies because of the nature of the change or the way the change was done.

cleaning would hardly be described as a physical modification (other than by notorious scammers KnC/CoinTerra)

that being said, i can find no mention of warranty terms on the spondoolies-tech site.

so either way, cleaning the heatsinks that i could reach seems to have helped.

the ability to adjust the fans to a higher speed than 90 may also help with my ambient heat concerns... i'm sure i mentioned that long before discussing opening the rig to clean it & thus voiding the warranty.

does anyne have a copy of these terms at hand?

i recall having to click on some agreement when first connecting to the sp20 but not the sp30.

Our term of sales are here:
http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/pages/terms-of-sale

Please send us an email before attempting to modify or open the box.

I resent the comparison.
I agree that loosing warranty over cleaning heat sink is indeed draconian a bit. On the other hand, mishandling the ASICs, like applying too much pressure can cause damage.

Giy

Thank you for the link, Is 90 days warranty the legal minimum?

Resenting the comparison (as i have come to resent some of the off-hand remarks that help no-one) doesnt make it any less factual.

Sam & his team would rather have his 'clients' homes burn down than fix the problems he and his team refuse to even acknowledge.

Please dont blame the end user for problems that are out of both our hands. If the rig catches fire or constantly shuts down because it isnt cooling properly then it needs cleaning... Obviously?!

Furthermore, my 3 month limited warranty runs out in 4 days, so rather than worry about it i have solved the overheating issue without the previously requested ability to turn the fans higher than 90. but it would be nice to be able to clean ALL the heat sinks as and when they need it. or should i just blow the crumbs of profit i might make on hosting the rigs and make a guaranteed loss?
