interestingly, after i updated my pool info to include stratum+tcp:// my jupiter HR dropped from 539 to 445.

nothing else at all was adjusted or altered...

i have just deleted the prefix an the GH/s is rising slowly but definitely.

ROLL ON fw .98!!

the crossbar screws seem to want to disintegrate despite needing a slight tightening.

most needed at least a 1/4 turn - no noticeable improvements yet
1784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 26, 2013, 03:06:44 AM
i removed an external room fan and raised GH/s by 0.8.

still running 0.96.1 without bertmod, been earning 0.9 per day but new diff rise just ended that...

its hashing around 500-560 on BCTG @ 99.75% Accepted shares,

Stable 538.8 on puTTY - WU 7754 (was >8000 on 0.97 but slightly lowered GH/s & BTC per day!)

Im scurrrred to touch it anymore, every reflash takes too long to stabilise and it usually requires one or more reboots as well..

roll on 0.98 or better!!

1785  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner Jupiter Miner First Impressions on: October 25, 2013, 01:21:41 AM
On .97 Jupiter anyone seeing a big difference between what CGminer is reporting and what BTCGuild is reporting for hash rate?

Seeing 513GH cgminer and 440GH on BTCGuild.

Yessir, me too!

539 on cgm/puTTy - 499 on BTCG = .97

i flashed back to .96.1 and now have 532 on cgm/puTTY - 503 on BTCG

still not as 'good' as .95 but need to calc the HW errors to make it more accurate.
1786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 24, 2013, 03:37:10 PM
KNC GUI & puTTy both show me at 541 all day - BTCG shows 480-500 most of the day.

am i missing something?

Yes you are. Stop measuring speeds at cgminer or go through Kano's posts for how to get the hashrate numbers using the hardware error numbers and so on.

It's really annoying all these people posting meaningless hashrates...

i think it is even easier, look at cgminer output (GH/s), then go to your pool server stats and look at that hash rate and if they are the same, you are doing very well, if they are not even close then you have a problem.

Except the pool number jumps around. I saw a difference of 20 within two minutes at the pool. Average hashrate at the status screen barely moved. I do have 19% HW errors on 9.7 though.
Fiatkiller, when other KNC Saturn owners are reporting 260GH/s-275GH/s at the server(and on CGminer), while my Saturn reports 215-235GH/s max, I feel that it has something to do with that high error rate our Saturns suffer from.

Yes! It's all about the hardware error rate. The values on KNC's cgminer do not seem to take that into account. I don't know if other versions do. The difference between machines seem to come mostly from the level of hardware errors so when someone says "my jupiter/saturn is doing X/Y in hashrate with this FW" you end up empty handed because you don't know if they are measuring that at cgminer or and actually getting much less at the pool (as you would measure from averages). In fact it misleads other people and possibly devs into thinking that they are progressing with the software.

0.97 for me and other people seems to ramp up the hardware rate and the reported hashrate at cgminer (depending how bad your machine actually is) but you see all these pointless reports of "yey +10 GH/s" without stating the source.

edgar: cry me a river!

i dont know who you are referring to with your vague waffle about meaningless hashrates & not knowing what information has been given but i personally gave all the info regarding cgminer, KNCs GUI and BTCGs pool rate.

i also asked specifically where to find the HW% and you prefer to troll the tread rather than give a knowledgeable response.

i'll cry you a river mate!! so long as u hop in a canoe & fuck off down stream in it

so sorry to be so annoying.... douche!

even more annoying is unhelpful scolding of people asking legitimate questions!

didnt your mother teach you if you have nothing useful to contribute, to keep it shut?

with an attitude like yours maybe you should start an ASIC company...

now about them GH's....

Do i need to post the same shit again to get a decent reply??
1788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 24, 2013, 01:37:13 PM
concerning the changelogs, you could compare code on https://github.com/KnCMiner to get a clue what has been changed - but for sure it's not the same like a simple changelog you read in short time.

----------

Any tips how solve the random miner stoping / freezing after 30-60min ? Pleseeee? It doesn't manke sense waisting more electricity then you mine back  Tongue + a fact .97 decrease the speed from 100 to a 1.7Ghas

After reading yesterday's reports about 0.97 I was really close to upgrade - was just too tired in the evening and not in the mood to deal with possible issues.
Meanwhile I'm quite happy I'm still on 0.95.

UPDATE YOUR MINER TO THE LATEST FIRMWARE

Somehow I'm not sure how to rate KnCMiner's software development and quality assurance in general, as it seems they do neither proper testing, nor understand the root causes of issues since each time there's one solved, but another appears..
I'm happy they're better in hw development, otherwise Jupiter would hash with 290GH/s only while consuming 1kW, I guess  Tongue

Honestly I'm getting more and more disappointed about this.
Especially when considering that cgminer's devs could have prevented it very very likely, but KnCMiner was so self confident they will do it better, cheaper, faster (?!).

I do not like to think about the difference in mined coins until now.  Undecided

i think this( cheaper) was their only concern. faster & better are non-existent terms with these guys - confidence - bucketsfull

im now on .96.1 - WU is below 8000 again - GH/s is slowly climbing back to 520 - see whats up in a few hrs

As someone who had a shoddy boxed unit full of rainwater arrive I've been quite pleased with the Jupiter...it runs on .95 at 555 gh and the highest core temp I have is
40c one is 28c the other 2 32c each....

so to say the least I've not upgraded ANYTHING but take the top off and have 2 small walmart fans pointing at the naked miner..that's it...been too scared I'd muck it up...to even think about anything else at least till I saw .97 as the recommended update

anyway if I do go with the new .97 upgrade this weekend when I have time to panic if it goes wrong....how hard is it to backtrack...say to .95 or 96? not that big a deal or what?

if it is painless going backwards as well as forward I'll take the chance

awaiting better minds then myself to weigh in on this

I'm also on slush an my ave hash there of long term is about 525gh even....

i'm not at work so I don't have hw nor wu rates available I think my error rate last I looked was 5 percent

anyway whatcha think

hey I appreciate the help ..I still think this so called out of control ahem "hobby" would be better run as co-op with some guys over beers...its lonely out in the sticks when you bump the table and your miner goes off and you scream like an 8yr old girl in terror!!! (luckily re-boot pops it right back up on restart)....such things are better shared while telling bfl horror stories over a campfire and a beer imho

anyway thanks for the advice you guys are pretty much the only source in town

Searing

If you are happy with its performance at .95 i would suggest you leave it as is - i was happy but wanted more and regret fkn with it now.

Also, try to think what you want to say and post it in 1 msg, if you need to add more use the edit button - multiple posts again & again gets quite annoying and i personally begin ignoring them..

@rawbit - did all that no joy - flashed back to .97 and everything is back to normal so far...

PuTTy & KnC Gui both show my avg as 539 but BTCG varies constantly from 480 - 569. Not sure why, perhaps the flushing still?
1790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 24, 2013, 03:11:03 AM
So i see allot of people here are on eligius pool I tried it over night and seemed to be less then i was making on btcquild.  However i know i really have to give it more time to see real results.  But im curious if there is anyone that has spend allot of time on both of them and what kind of findings did they find?   I really like the layout of btcguild my self.  But if i can make more BTC else where being eligius or somewhere else i give up the nice interface,  seems i have only made around .7 of a bitcoing the last 24 hours on btcquild with a Jupiter witch im thinking i could be making more eles where.   what are others making a day and where at?

i am on BTCG and made less than a BTC in the last 24hrs, i put it down to luck and me fiddling about reflashing and trying to see my realtime stats.

Now my avg is 1.3Mh/s

and WU is 0.0

wtf?!!

Reflashed .97 again - got my GUI access again

pushed down all the VRMs and heard 3-4 click down a bit.

went from 538 - 510 to;

i just flashed enablecores onto my .97 jup and so far i cant get back into knc GUI. During the flash i saw All Cores Enabled.

ive cleared the cache and tried to connect via FF, IE & Chrome - none allow me past the login screen..

puTTY shows the rig is running, BTCG shows it is hashing albeit 100GH slower than it was but i expect it will ramp up.

still, would like to get back into the GUI without having to unplug my ether cable to get in direct...

after less than 3 hrs on 0.97 my fuse at the junction box blew, shutting down everything while i was asleep.

woke up to dark silence - creepy.

switched the tripped fuse back onand we;re back up and hashing.... any reports of similar issues/raised W pulled at the wall?

other than that 540 is now 536 - and WU is now 8147 from 7877

anyone added enablecores to .97 yet?
1793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 23, 2013, 03:51:30 PM
was happy with 0.97 until my average just dropped to 1.344 Mh/s

i enabled CGminer API and restarted CGminer - touch wood its picking up again

OUCH! BTCGuild is down fluctuating, how do we apply a failover pool to these rigs?

use fw 0.96, if you're using 0.95 or lower just edit /config/cgminer.conf manually adding failover pools.

not comfortable applying 0.96

but willing to try edit/config/cgminer.conf

where is this? in the KnC gui or via PuTTy?

what is the deal with KNC running Flushwork?

my GH/s rate drops by 100GH when it performs this task... and takes a while to build back up to previous rate

Your matter is not reading/adding to a conversation which you are not aware of - i took them off, they didnt fall off...Thx.

@ Puppet - Thanks!! Sorted!

@Tolip - BtcOwaffle says lots of things - about 15% of which turn out to be factual

i also have a single jupiter running on the 0.95 it came with. I agree temperature seems the most important factor in GH/s rate.

No bertmod, lid on upside down(fins & sides are pointing up) with a room fan blowing thru the front and side.

Two of the heatsink fans resting on the crossbar at a downward angle. (ill do the other 2 later)

The chips show 45c-55C and BTCGuild shows 490-559 with the best rates 'usually' at night but not exclusively. (it is noon now, ambient temp is 34C, BTCGuild shows me at  530) While puTTy shows my average as 540)

i feel for the guys who still didnt get theirs, i do feel we are all due a dozen BTC or so for the daily loss due to delays but have little hope of any offer of such.

now im wondering if its worth buying a 2nd one for 25btc making them 50 BTC each and easier to recover (depending on time/diff/etc)

who else is worth considering ordering from? cointerra? hashfast? other??

or is it time to start selling my old shovels??
