1161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lost coins - wallet.dat on: November 16, 2014, 03:49:57 AM
not sure i you have corrupted wallets but if all else fails try RecoverMyFiles v5.

i recently recovered 4 wallet.dat files that were totally unreadable for almost 2 weeks.

before 'RMFv5' i went through 4-5 recovery programs that were basically pointless & hella time-consuming.

best of luck!!

Nice multi-posting, impressive to see searing still doesn't know how to conduct himself in public after only YEARS of having it spoonfed.

THIS is where YOU belong!

In a wasteland of shit -regurgitating your own sorry silage ad infinitum

1163  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BITMAIN, THEY ARE SCAMMERS! on: November 13, 2014, 06:32:35 AM
Sorry to jump back in, i am now being extorted by Bitmain USA who i have had NO dealings with.

'He' insists upon me returning broken hardware that was deemed 'not need to return' MONTHS AGO, by Bitmain China.

it would seem that Bitmain China has handed over the Customer service role to Bitmain USA - while myself and Bitmain China are a 5 hr flight apart.

WHO would hold onto pieces of filthy broken hardware for 5 months?

HOW can these broken & previously unwanted items have any correlation with COMPENSATION OWED??

scammers? maybe

liars, dishonest, feigned (maybe not) ignorance, awful attitude & constant goalpost moving all add up to UNTRUSTWORTHY!!!

Dont believe the brand new members claiming to have been overcome with joy at the level of service they have received - cheap & pointless sockpuppet shill accounts are literally FREE!!

BITMAIN SUCKS, Their hardware is shit!

Their staff are either retarded, children, retarded children or some kind of futuristic retarded child-like program that doesnt yet understand English, physics or common logic.

Is Bitmain related to Yifu Guo?
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: November 12, 2014, 02:41:02 AM
quick update - promised the fam a day out so....

IXcoin wallet does not seem to like the wallet.dat (which may well be integrally corrupted, ill keep trying)  Multiple fresh downloads = the same result. (the application has requested Runtime to shutdown in an unusual way {paraphasing}

It essentially shuts down, WITH the 30k but unable to transfer or even sync fully

UNO - all good, i pulled 1 UNO out to make sure it didnt have the same issue as IXC does. for some reason chainz reported that as 10 but it was only uno...

LTC - 3 wks behind. (i'll be off out once its synched) All Good!

i DO deserve some shit for not being better prepared for disaster! all i can say in my defense is;

i WAS on my way to putting ALL my coins into these wallets, and THEN backing them up.

this is/was and will remain to be stupid.

AS SOON AS YOU HAVE YOUR COINS IN A WALLET - BACK THAT WALLET.DAT UP!!  copy - paste - done!  (and save yourself some grey hairs)

While there IS life saving software, it does NOT see to be all encompassing wrt saving everything.

not that im an external praying man - i think im now indebted to most mainstream deities as well as some netherworldly types..

AND - i will shortly be contacting the author of RecoverMyFiles with a measly contribution. They may be interested/able to tweak things in favour of wallet.dats which may well become a big business as we mature.

Finally for today - Id be interested in the BW thread/s if Balu is willing to PM/post the details and/or links.

We dont need any potentially harmful influences among us, but theyre 'coming' so we should be prepared/fore-armed with as much info as we can digest.
1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: November 11, 2014, 02:09:18 PM
well thank you all kindly!!  fist bumps and back slaps!

the ixcoin wallet wasnt stable so i pulled everything except the wallet.dat and its re-synching now - ill confirm 100% tomorrow.

LTC is going to take a while too - but the UNO one is safe and sound and im now contemplating its future.

i was >this< close to cancelling christmas vacation!!

im going to celebrate mucho this year with  some overdue dentist time.. Oh, the JOYS of cryptos!!

LOL - i need sleep! pretty much 10 straight nights!

ill have to get other less important files off but they can wait .

Unfortunately not.

Fan remains at 100% throughout.

G & Y leds remain unlit.

Ether/LAN leds alternate between solid, blinking and off
By SW upgrade i assume you mean SD Recoveries?

If im mistaken, please advise at your earliest convenience.

Before beginning the RMA process, would it be possible to have an SP20 exclusive SD image to try?

EDIT - after about 8 IDENTICAL 'recoveries' it has shown up again as SP30 with SP30 fw and SP30UI

After more skype-ing and correct understanding it was FW Upgrades x 2 PLUS reboot that eventually got it back in the ring.

Sorted!        (1534 GH/s - fan at 90, max power at 285)

Recuva will be my next stop, still scouring lost volume info in sierra phoenix...

right-click + copy is what causes the image i posted just now.

in my roaming folder it says ALL folders are empty and corrupt!

has anyone ever attempted microsoft windows scan & fix?

i assume this is just chkdsk.. but am now getting to the point of exhaustion

scan and fix could result in the appdata/roaming being deleted - at least that was what i had experienced last time.
Good luck with this.

THIS is what i think has happened with chkdsk...

but i will keep at it..

i DID manage to 'recover' 30,000 NXT (1.x BTC) but i cant really take credit for that, the wallet is different from any other and all you need is your password which i found with ease.

UNO, IXC & LTC are proving a bit more of a ballache.

I can SEE them, but so far cant open or copy 'em

despite finally after 6 months being asked for my wallet address a week ago - NO COMPENSATION HAS BEEN FORTHCOMING.

My patience will eventually diminish...

COUGH UP, Bitman!!
1173  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 09, 2014, 02:54:37 AM
after following zvis guidelines and attempting to recover my sp20 with an SP30 recovery SD, which failed.. Multiple times.

Then a fresh SP30 boot SD, which also failed.  Multiple times.

My SP20 now claims it is an SP30 -  and fails to run CGMiner (miner gate started but then stopped)

i asked numerous times if the SD cards were compatible - to which the reply was yes.

zvi has authorized it for return but that will only add to the daily losses.

...

...

...

In desperation i have opted for the factory reset button -

.......aaaaaaaand it's gone!     Again!

Has anybody ACTUALLY recovered an sp20 using the sp30 recovery and/or boot SD??

1174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC-e - £1500 Stolen on: November 08, 2014, 06:07:08 AM
They stole my whole account with 7kGBP.

It seems if they see any vulnerability they use the situation to rob you.

Bombard every btc-e thread, site, twitter account with huge red font and dont stop until they cave in.

it took me months with no money over xmas & new year while site support laughed & called me a troll.

DONT GIVE UP - THEY NEED BAD PUBLICITY A LOT LESS THAN THEY NEED YOUR 7K!!

NOW GET EM!!

ILL TAKE A 5% ADVISORY FEE... Wink

@CowboyMiner - HOW could you spend millions on hardware and then hire GUARANTEED fuck ups to (pretend) to watch over it for you???

I am not answering for Cowboy miner but I will give you a little insight into Thailand economics. I live in Bangkok and the minimum wage here is 300 baht (about US$9.50) per day for up to a 12 hour shift. More often than not, employers will also require their employees work six day weeks. I don't know about the specifics of this operation, but the types of jobs the "fuck up" had probably paid close to the low end. So they make about $57.00 a week. Not much incentive to do a good job or care about your job. Often you go into a business that has too many employees, because they got them cheap, and they are all useless. I always advocate paying fewer employees more money so they care about keeping their job. Many foreign employers also believe this, so maybe Cowboy Miner's operation paid better? My question is why invest all that money and not have insurance? Thailand does have quite a few reputable insurance companies.

I agree. I also experience the profound uselessness of 'many hands make light work' on a daily basis here. What almost always happens is the 'work' has to be redone continually, turning a simple fix into a lifelong nightmare for the inexperienced and career path for the inept 'worker'

Personally, I would have been thrilled to do security & support for less than a typical ex-pat salary, my little fire was put out by me within seconds of smelling the smoke,  socket replaced/wires repaired and back fully operational in minutes.

...but then i might have accidentally diverted one or 2 rigs to my wallet / smuggled my own rigs in, so perhaps they made a wiser choice. LOL

@cowboyminer - heart goes out to you bruh!! even 40 times the typical salary and i would bet the farm on them sleeping the whole night. before going to their day 'job' (taxi or other form of loafing about.)

i cycle the streets of BKK at night and i SEE them sleeping at the front of HUGE multinational offices/manufacturing plants. (as an aside, when i visited manila i saw the exact same scenarios but the sleeping guards held shotguns)

Do you really suspect arson? Real question...

@marvel - You need to UP your max watts to 285, right now your set at 100w which isnt enough to power the rig.

give it a spin!!

@stan - did you try upping the max voltage first?

opening it up should be the 2nd to last resort - my sp30 could do with a clean tho!!

1177  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 06, 2014, 11:54:51 PM
Never had this problem with the Sp30 However I am hashing only 760GH with the SP20.  EVGA 1300 Watt PSU.  I am at my home with 110V was firing it up before I went down to my shop.  I have 240V there.  Any Sugestions?  Loop 2 is dead.

Drop your max limit to 285, i had te same shit 4-5 times until i dropped the limit. seems the learning cycle isnt as potent as the SP30 one for some reason.

hindisight being what it is i feel for you but you made some gross errors of judgement.

I hope things work out for you, but i imagine if you can throw millions at a project and watch it go up in flames you are probably already building 15 more 'data centers'

my sp20 turned up a bit fkd, 6 hrs of fiddles got it sorted.

when cryptsy was being slow to release UNO, i pulled out a total of 3800 UNO in 4 999 lumps.

that was the exact time that uRan was diminshed and uCun appeared.

since then my hard drive has faultered and 90% of everything i own is now in jeopardy.

'Day 4 of chkdsk /r /f C: has stalled... disk is grinding & clicking ;(

i have a few UNO left on cryptsy along with a few other alts...

Cry Good luck recovering your wallet!

4 days of disc recovery and no backups? That doesn't sound good. I've had a few harddrives fail on me before, usually most data could be salvaged onto another drive (put old and new drive in another PC) and only parts were unrecoverable. Are you trying to recover the whole PC right now (stuck in bootup repair or something) or trying to rescue data from the drive mounted into another system?  If the damaged parts include OS files the system might not be able to boot, but you personal files might be okay and accessible if accessed externally.

I wish I could be of more help, but I haven't had HDD failures in a while (since moving to mostly SSDs now that I think about it, hmmm) so my knowledge is kinda rusty.

exactly, trying to salvage it before going the re-install route.

it is seemingly stalled at 24% but it seemed stalled at 12% too, and 21% only to make progress while i was sleeping.

not just my UNO wallet either, ALL my bulk coins... only very few left on cryptsy for trading.

so im being patient even tho just under the surface im FFFFREAKING!!
