1243  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 18, 2014, 02:03:19 AM
@jayguanjee the $4k-5k figure was the price of bitcoin, not my investment

and @oda.krell some nice math skills you got there. I was impressed that you would call it right

I realize that a lot of us have high hopes for BTC prices to go into the 2x, 5x, 10x, 100x and potentially further... but really, it does NOT seem psychologically healthy to count on it.. I feel pretty good if my investment maintains its value, but surely, my perception of price appreciation on top of that is icing on the cake... In other words, we have to also maintain other wealth building and appreciation strategies.... though I have to admit that I, also, have placed a larger and larger percentage of my investment nuts into the BTC basket.

i look at all cryptos as a potential 100% loss - and as such have not gone balls deep.

but it would be a damn shame to have 0 if/when the ATH is breached and maintained...

things would be a lot more relaxed if not for the incessant BS artistes & their ilk.

C'MONN BTC@10k!!!!

indeed, again it saddens me that you are so right!
why the fudge they cant manage to just say what needs to be said instead of acting like cunts is beyond me.

but then im not the one raking in millions (and still have to sell pre-orders) so wtf do i know.

fuck the leds, and fuck the 'so smart they cant be bothered' haters...

it seems that even squeaky wheels are starting to get ignored, bodes well for the future does it not...

so as 'the time for refunds/coupons has passed' where does that leave those among us, (presumably just myself) that chose neither as they had other issues going on?

either?

neither?

possible to use for/against something that will be delivered within the next 30 days??

its like getting blood from a stone (or trying to break even) here

All I am seeing here is karma that is coming back to you, who can't understand that the damn 3, 9, 13 blinks aren't relevant to the rest of the miner. It's like the HDD light is blinking on my computer while it boots up. My Windows can work ok or not, but the damn lights blink the same all the time. It's not that hard to understand this from the above posts.

you may be right.    if karma is an ill-reading, victim-playing, sarcastic genius

however wouldnt it have been 'better' for all concerned if it was explained clearly the first time instead of 'forcing' the inquisitive to KEEP ASKING..??

at the same time as expending the nergy to write a paragraph of pointless shit??

no?

really dont know?

i see...

What is blinking yellow, the PSU?

Have you tried the almighty restart yet?

You do know that you could be pulling more than 13A on the lead when running it at 120V?

the yellow led above the green one...

i have not, as i am more interested in understanding the meaning of the led sequence than anything else...at the moment. as i stated a few hours ago, i reset the max watts so it could 'relearn' its limit/s.

i do, however im not - 220-230V here.

any idea wrt the yellow led... the one thats flashing on the front of the rig? 9 times...?

thx.

Edgar, young fella, you should know that there is a certain tradition amongst old *nix wizard types. It is drilled into every devop, sysadm and device driver writer early in their professional career. It is called 'RTFM' where the manual is the source code. If you can't do this, you are SOL.

Variations on this unix crypto-culture are

a) if you want something done, code it and submit a pull request
b) how many github projects do you contribute to ?
c) marketDetailAgent send ( _.filterNot(mi => Exchange.canonicalize(mi.market) == market) :+ info )

Otherwise, the responses you get are going to be 'power cycle it and let me know if it works'

Thats just the way it is. It is a system designed to protect the innocent. Believe it or not. Take my word for it, you do not want to know what all those flashing lights mean. You just want your system to ROI. Good luck with that.

Try calling me a cunt few more times and then ask me what /etc/init.d is.
Update me how that works out.

i see what you did there, again...

why bother even replying if its not to address the issue at hand??

repeatedly 'confusing' facts with misunderstandings/miscomprehension is all the rage in here eh..!!

<snippe>

why are you intentionally ignoring my questions & focusing on pointless 'issues' ?

interesting.

yet i failed to locate the part regarding the 9 'blinks' of the yellow led (sometimes referred to as orange)

care to just spit it out and save us all some time??

btw - i did restart it and it stopped flashing 9 times though it did keep it up for 3 hrs before i bothered...

i noticed both the 2 flash and 13 flash on rebooting... yawn, what a waste of time asking

still no further illuminated...

Oh boy here we go again.  Look every one,  it is the “senior member” EDGAR show again. You will always find some insipid calamity laden dunce who thinks spending a few thousand dollars on something is the greatest thing they have ever done in the world. Then they’ll sit there snivelling and repeatedly blinking making like oh woe be me, I press the on button and it does nothing, it just sits there. Why does it not leap onto to something, Why oh why does it not do that. It says on does it not. It remains on nothing. Please help me.

Can Spondoolies perhaps create a simple aptitude test prior to the check out cart? “ dear gentle customer in order to buy our product please ensure you are capable to do so. Kindly answer the following question: what is 1 + 1 ?”

Thank You.

Lots of Love,

Spondoolies Tech.

 Roll Eyes

way to project yourself

i am in no way flummoxed or concerned or indeed handicapped wrt mining.

in the interest of awareness, i would like to to know if there is a specific answer or otherwise.

i will not lose sleep over it nor apparently much if any GH/s

but many thanks for your contribution, we've all learned from its depth.

please provide the link that took literally 15 seconds to find - nevermind, found in the blogs and not the FAQ... how quaint.

please clarify 'yellow light blinks'

2 blinks means =  usually means the miner is up but configured not to mine ("stop mining") (Zvisha)

9 blinks means =

13 blinks means =

Which miner are you using?
Also which lead melted internal or external?

just had a power lead begin to melt.

swapped for a better one, reset max watts. now im seeing the yellow led flashing 9 times - everything else seems in order.

ive look through this thread & the FAQs - cant find any reference to it

who can reveal the messages from these leds??

SP30

external (C13) cable that goes from wall to extension...

it was considerably thicker than the one i replaced it with (& its partner) which is rated higher (13A) and has a fuse in the plug unlike its predecessor and partner (though that may change when i locate another UK (C13) lead)

however, my concern is the yellow LED and its somewhat hidden meanings.

any user guide/info ??

1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Satoshi Nakamoto be world's first trillionaire ? on: September 13, 2014, 05:10:13 AM
Trillionaires cannot exist with bitcoin. The highest status you can achieve is millionaire.

The thread is about Satoshi, not us simple users, if we will be millionaires then Nakamoto could be trillionaire for sure!

But, only 21,000,000 coins will exist.

If one bitcoin will be valued 1 million dollar then Satoshi will be trillionaire.

We can all be trillionaires, if we measure our wealth in grains of rice.

The common concept of a trillionaire is to have trillion USD. Neither trillion zimbabwean dollar nor trillion euro... let alone grains of rice.

maybe in the USA is a national concept/currency considered  'the common...'

do you honestly believe that europeans, australians, asians, africans et al, consider USD the common concept of ANYTHING?

i know you do, but it makes you ignorant of the rest of the worlds opinions and realities based upon your own myopic world view.

books. ftw.

none has appeared yet.. but i shall as they do

and 30 minutes in its about 100GH down

You can upgrade it even if it hasn't appeared. Just hit upgrade button.

ok, giving it a spin. .46 done.  its gone back to sp30 yukon from sp3x yukon - watching the hashrate like a hawk.

@opentoe - sadly have to agree, its all about the 'spin' & the equally significant lack thereof of relevant data, that gives the game away.
1255  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 12, 2014, 04:40:10 AM
i think you might be right, but i'll wait for 100% certainty, as im not sure if the .RAR file is just called the .TAR file for convenience or if it actually is a .TAR file....whilst 'unextracted'

2.3.40 is running ok for now.

im surprised this 'bricking' issue hasnt been ironed out but i see other issues have taken precedence.

any info as to why .43 is the last version available via the GUI while .46 is floating around elsewhere?

I am pretty confident that I am right, but wait for an official statement.

The .46 is floating around while you only see .43 because of this:
Hi all
The line of SP30 will be renamed to SP3x in the SW.
SW version 2.3.43 will be the last SW release downloaded by machines identified as SP30.
After that it will request from SW update server SW for SP3x, and will be updated with 2.3.44 which is SP3x.

So till you updated to 2.3.43 you will not see any new SW releases in your SW upgrade menu.

cheers..

so i'll give .43 another go.

at least i have my sp3x brick recovery sd card now...

e2a - .43 achieved.

quieter for sure!!  2-3C warmer too!

very strange, but seemingly common enough to be in the FAQs

after 3 power cycles myminer.io is working - NOTHING else is

Hopefully zvisha or someone from support will arrange with you to remote access to your device and sort it out, I could be wrong but I don't think you will get much help from most of the enthusiasts on the forum, not for want of trying but more for lack of technical insight.

cheers biffa,

i PMd zvi after he replied earlier....
just did the recovery again, to make sure i hadnt fumbled it the 1st time.
end result is the same, can access myminer.io but cannot 'go to miner' etc
its getting silly now, im exhausted
totally regret updating FW!

myminer.io is not on the miner.
Please answer the following:
- when doing recovery, do you get the leds going green-yellow-green-yellow...?  yes
- Are you sure you are trying to connect from the same subnet as where your miner is?
- Do you get the led blinking twice after doing recovery? no
I think your miner changed IP, but myminer.io for some reason does not reflect it.
Go to your router UI and try to see what is the miner IP (see all the IPs and try to connect to each).

e2a - successfully upgraded to .40 - 45xxGH

i found no .tar file in the .46 link u posted only 'spon.shar' & 'spon.shar.sign' files

after much time passed, myminer.io has updated to show a new IP

i am now mining on FW 2.2.24

there is no option to update past .43

manual option only offers a 'manual choice' up to .43 also

reluctant to try .43 again

36xxGH sucks  but better than zero!!

ok, thats over an hour of lost mining... is nobody around?
After down time, it seems that miners don't start always autmaticaly.
I have lost 4 hours of mining because the miner did not start automaticaly at power up !

appreciate your response but it seems the FW upgrade has failed and the miner doenst really know what to do.

myminer.io works

but i cannot access the GUI

is the little inset button next to the leds the 'reset' button?

Hi Edgar.
- "yellow light is blinking 2 times" usually means the miner is up but configured not to mine ("stop mining").  I would recommend finding the miner IP and setting it to mine again.
- If it does not start - do factory reset from settings.
- If the WebUI not accessible or the miner got no IP - you can do the recovery procedure from the technical blog.

followed the recovery procedure in the FAQs - 6) Once the system is up, do SW upgrade from the webUI and update your wallet and the pool.

system is not up...

miner spent considerable minutes whining at 100%, then went quiet.

cannot even access myminer.io now... neither green nor yellow led is lit (both ether leds are functioning)

When S-T servers were down I coulnd't access myminer.io.
Because of this I also couldn't use GUI and update the firmware. When myminer.io started working, everything came back to normal. Strange..
