off course now it says we only get the value of our account from 2 years ago, if we get any,  this lawsuit is totally worthless

so what was that guy from MT.Gox saying, he could almost pay everyone back? so paying back in meaning, the value from back then, the criminals only get better from this.

they don't even have a plan.

by the way all servers were deleted right? so that means there is nothing. and no ex employee or anyone knows anything.

we could all have been millionaires, even bigvern, but he chose the fastest way to the milliones.

They are definitely settling at the value at the moment of closure.  The case was put into court in that manor and the only people to blame are those that let it happen.  Class action or not, if you are not being represented in the manner that you feel you should be during a court case that you are involved in, then it is your duty to step forward and state that fact for the courts.

Except it wasn't the Moment of Closure. I Traded into January and doubled my Holdings.

Like an above post by Gleb. People cashed out at a huge premium after The Date.

Maybe the Solicitors don't care. They get their 33%

1,683 people submitted claims as of the May 17, 2017 claim deadline.

They did not say how many were Rejected.

Wait, how are we supposed to know who's rejected? I read that they will get back to you only if you need to provide additional info.

I don't know. There was nothing in the last Court Document.

He could not have predicted that BTC would go this high, and I assume he thought the ex wife would get a chunk if he did everything legit.
He deleted the servers in an effort to keep anyone from finding out how far this actually went.

Or... he didnt. A former craptsy employee could just have easily wiped the servers to keep the general public from knowing the level of knowledge they had about the loss. If it was on the servers that the employees knew about the "theft" then there could be criminal liability...

Or it could have been the hacker that caused all this in the first place... if you believe thats what happened.

In reality Vern had very little reason to care what was on the servers... he ran away to china and was never gonna come back, so nothing on them mattered to him at all. He (mostly) screwed his ex wife by giving her stuff bought with money stolen from the users, and he has / will have no repercussions for any of it.

So to recap:

All data destroyed to cover something up. You get to guess as to what it might be.
Vern gets to live his life in China, and just wont ever come back here
Employees move on to other rip off scams jobs in the industry
they also got to keep the money they were paid that was stolen from the users. (if they knew it was stolen of not)
Vern wife got to keep $250k of the stolen money.

And coinbase where do they stand they laundered stolen money? Hasn't that been proven already? Why can't we as a collective file a suit with them? They seem to be rolling in cash lately, with any bad publicity they might even settle?

The magic of the US legal system... you can sue them anytime you are ready for anything you want. Finding a lawyer to take the case without wanting to get paid up front.. thats the trick

"The Settlement resolves all claims asserted against the Settling Defendants in the Class Action, thereby providing partial relief to the Class Members while the Class Representatives and the Receiver continue to pursue their claims against non-party Coinbase, Inc. – against whom they have recently filed suit. See Leidel et al., v. Coinbase, Inc., United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Case No. 9:16-cv-81992-KAM. As this Settlement and its release specifically excludes Vernon, Plaintiffs intend to move for the entry of a final judgment against him, and may continue to pursue Vernon should additional evidence become available as to his whereabouts and the monies he stole from the Class."

Does that mean if Vernon comes back to the US in lets say 5 years we might get our coins back?

Also how much coinbase took?

Good call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

https://cointelegraph.com/news/coinbase-valued-at-1-bln-could-target-more-aggressive-global-expansion

https://themerkle.com/coinbase-users-funds-stolen/

Coinbase is currently seeking a U$100M ICO which shouldn't bode well if they're under investigation. The second link pertains to a U$8K lost by one of its users.

Team Class Action should jump on this like flies on shit if they're worth their salt.

I suggest that those most harmed by the Cryptsy fiasco should contact their lawyer to pressure them to do such.

This Class Action is separate and distinct from the class action lawsuit filed on December 13, 2016 against COINBASE, INC., in which Plaintiffs and the Receiver in this Class Action are attempting to recover additional monies for the same class certified by the Court in this Action. Accordingly, your rights or claims in the Coinbase Class Action will not be impacted by this Action.

I was merely alluding to any negative press directed toward Coinbase would have an adverse affect on their upcoming ICO in seeking U$100M, especially if there were an investigation pertaining to money laundering concerning Cryptsy.

Trust me, the very profitable Coinbase needs this U$100M to augment their former U$100M influx from previous investors resulting in its current U$1B (with a B) valuation. Rumor has it that Brian Armstrong wants to open up a cafe at its office entrance so to sell homemade Karpeles Apple Pies.

Serious question:

Re the Class Action, approximately how much collectively in US dollars are former Cryptsy users seeking and how many users have filed claims? More clearly, what does the currently claim sheet look like?

I look forward to the reply, for I have something up my sleeve but first need to see the figures prior to committing.

Yeah really dumb of him. Cryptsy could have been billion dollar company. Vern could be next Zuckerberg. I remember I had 2 million mooncoin and about 50K digibyte on cryptsy.
