Yup, me thinks Coinbase is F*cked.
Don't forget this is an Ongoing LawSuit.
They'll pay out the Settlement to Cryptsy Claimants, kinda like a progress payment in Construction.
Too Bad they set the BTC Price at $330.00 Why does the Cryptsy connection apply just to Coinbase? Did Cryptsy not use Kraken or any other company? If so, can they be dragged in to this? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I think that the lawyers have determined beyond doubt that Kraken wasn't used by the venerable Paul Vernon to launder moneys. Just Coinbase.

57. Based on the number of assets deposited and liquidated through CRYPTSY’s COINBASE account, with full knowledge that CRYPTSY charged its customers a 0.3% transaction fee on the value of each transaction, COINBASE could not have reasonably believed that CRYPTSY was conducting nearly $1,700,000,000.00 USD in cryptocurrency exchange trading business over the stated time period.
58. Likewise, COINBASE could not have reasonably believed that VERNON had personally mined and owned the $3,300,000.00 USD he deposited and liquidated through his personal COINBASE account. XX. Likewise, BitPay could not have reasonably believed that the bitcoin wallet address 1QAHVyRzkmD4j1pU5W89htZ3c6D6E7iWDs registered to BFL by BitPay but at one time declared by BFL, Bitpay AND HashTrade to be owned by HashTrade (proof: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2013/10/prweb11283333.htm), was used to ONLY process orders paid via bitcoins by BFL users using the licensed BitPay as the third-person payment provider, oppose to liquidating bitcoins transferred to BFL from BitPay using the exact same address, a course of action in which BitPay IS NOT licensed to conduct such transactions, namely because BitPay IS NOT an exchange, but nonetheless, BitPay preceded to liquidate BFL's bitcoins into fiat, depositing over U$10M in numerous banks accounts controlled by Sonny Vleisides, owner of BFL. If the latter part of the above sounds familiar, it's because Sonny utilized the same ploy for his Laissez Faire City, online casinos (with Jeff Ownby), and Lottery schemes circa 1995-2008. But don't worry, Sonny's on a new track now, finally taking advice from the person who helped raised him during his high school years, namely Jody Drake. ALL FUCKIN DOCUMENTED!!! EDIT: I forgot to mention that BitPay liquids it's bitcoins to fiat via Coinbase, an entity having a valuation of U$1B (with a B) but needs to garner another U$100M from investors so to make their platform more robust. It's only a coincidence that Coinbase and BitPay have many of the same deep-pocket investors. Yup, me thinks Coinbase is F*cked. Don't forget this is an Ongoing LawSuit. They'll pay out the Settlement to Cryptsy Claimants, kinda like a progress payment in Construction. Too Bad they set the BTC Price at $330.00 Coinbase best had declared all ongoing investigations pertaining to their brand in their prospectus available to all their current investors for their current U$100M funding round or else they'll be slapped with a Vleisides-esque fine and probation and told not to never again forget to forget disclosing such pertinent information.

I was meaning to check who the OP was of this thread, and just remembered to check.
Anyone know where he is or what happened?
He got mad at me and Gamow for trolling on this topic or something and sad he was leaving this topic and then went on to create a new one just like this. Read his comment history https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=123857;sa=showPostsAnd he claimed to have worked out his problems with Cryptsy long ago when Vern himself showed up on this topic helping him. Yup.. Vern seen this topic 400 pages ago.. he knows it's here and he could comment but he's apparently busy.. maybe with JShock flogging "rate coin" via Social Media ?

COINBASE & maybe now IRS are gonna do their darnedest to track down Perv Vern, methinks. Wouldn't that be great if they went after him for fraud or whatever, for Coinbase to try recover their losses? Not sure it would fly, but I'd love to see Vern hunted down like the dog he is by an org with big guns.

There is also the matter of the unmoved bitcoin, this is what I think is crucial for Vern, from the discussions I have heard other players are unwilling to move on him in the hope of retrieving this. I imagine once that is exhausted it will be open season.

More on Coinbase customers getting crypto-raped thru their cell phones: Dear Coinbase user,
We are notifying you because you currently, or have previously, used the Authy app to protect access to a Coinbase account. Due to a recent increase in sophisticated attacks targeting Coinbase users, we are taking extra precaution to protect your account.
In combination with social engineering and password theft, attackers are porting phone numbers (also known as SIM swapping). Once they fraudulently gain control of a user’s phone number, attackers can add new devices to an existing Authy account and take over access to a linked Coinbase account.
To combat these attacks, we will be automatically disabling the Authy multi-device setting and limiting the ability to use SMS to install Authy....
Oh, no. Here it comes!!!~ "We got haxxored!"

Yes, that came from Coinbase, and no I never signed up on Coinbase, they gleaned my email address perhaps from this forum close to two years ago, I opting to let them continue to send me shit, with all past correspondence non-problematic stemming from their camp.

Better be safe than sorry.

By all accounts, as it's structure now there is no hope of getting over 20% of your money returned. That said, I do have a plan on how to make Cryptsy's class action filers whole again. In fact, if all goes according to plan they'll come out like bandits. No, this is not a joke and am willing to disclose the basics on this thread prior to dedicating a new thread to the ideal. Anybody interested, say aye! Bruno PS: It'd cost you nothing to participate.

I am a new bitcoin user. I recently bought bitcoin off of www.wallofcoins.com. they are suppose to be escrow for buyers and sellers. After 5 days of my account being in review by someone named john macpherson, i started to do some research, his name comes up on this thread many times. It is very concerning because it appears this thread was created over a fraudulent event. Can someone tell me how this guy john fits into the crypsty scandal. I feel like he is holding my money at ransom for personal information, so they can steal my identity. Thank you kindly

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/6gtreq/the_fact_that_coinbase_cant_handle_high_traffic/dit1cgc/Do none of you understand how scaling an infrastructure works? They've had a huge increase in traffic and users which is putting huge stress on their infrastructure. No doubt they're adding huge amounts of servers daily to help cope. Give it a little bit of time and I'm sure it'll be as smooth as it used to! Assuming I don't understand how scaling an infrastructure works, which I do (okay, maybe just more than somewhat, but I digress), I do understand that a U$117.21M is more than enough to build a massive robust trading platform, and so do the deep-pocket investors who infused said U$117.21M to Coinbase, not counting the countless millions earned by CB over the course of its lifetime. https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/coinbase#/entityWhich begs the questions, why isn't said robust trading platform built by Coinbase, why aren't the initial investors pressing for such, and is it possible that it's to the best interest of Coinbase and its investors in having the problematic platform perform exactly as it has been over the years because a robust system just wouldn't be as profitable due there being less chances for human interference? I'm willing to bet that there's trading platforms readily available for less than U$2M that include support with, perhaps, even providing on-demand free blowjobs at that price point. Addressing the "ayes" in a sec, guys. Bruno

Okay, here's the plan: I create this new coin ... Seriously, guys, that's the plan, but allow me to present a brief while your dick's still hard. Firstly, as promised there's no money needing to be paid to participate provided you've successfully filed a class action claim, providing proof of said claim being the most problematic aspect of my plan, but sure there's a solution of which I wouldn't be privy to vitals, with a general idea on how to accomplish said feat. The token I've alluded to is CoinProLite (CPL) -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1900371.0 (same link as in my sig). In lieu of, or in conjunction with burning schitcoins, up to 700M CPL (U$7M worth on YuTübopolis' platform, valued at no less than U$0.01 ea.) could easily be doled to those harmed by Cryptsy who've successfully filed a class action claim. This awardment would be over and beyond what you'll receive once the class action lawsuit is settled months (maybe years) down the road. e.g.: If you lost $1,000 worth of alts (or actual fiat would apply), whatever the exchange rate for any particular alt at the time that Cryptsy closed is exactly what you would receive in CPL, in this case 100K CPL. To be clear, you're not burning anything nor giving me anything of value including your vitals. Any questions at this point? Bruno
