@bitwonder to receive GBB if you do not have any try doing it this way: start a chat with paired device, click INSERT ADDRESS in chat menu, now the owner of the blackbytes can click your address and he will see an option to send blackbytes to you

Isn't there a way I can transfer them from a backup or from the config files on the old computer?  The old computer with blackbytes is disconnected from network and I reconstructed my address using my seed on the new pc.

No dude , you are wrong!!!  PAY ATTENTION blackbytes have to be transfered from smart wallet to main wallet and bytes needed to pay tx fees (2336 for 0.4 GBB),!

from what i know you can only recover blackbytes is from a full backup . yes you can if your is full backup

download the new version 1.5 wallet, there is a function: settings > restore from full backup

using your seed can only recover white bytes not black

The smart wallet will stay forever until you withdraw the coins.

Everything about the distribution is as transparent as possible. Simply add the coins given out for free and after the last round of distribution you will see that there are only 2% left in the developers wallet (1% for new wallets and 1% for himself). The distribution rules:

BTC to bytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 62.5 MB (0.0625 GB)
BTC to blackbytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 2.1111 * 62.5 million blackbytes (money supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes)
Bytes to bytes: 1 byte on any Byteball address gives you 0.1 new bytes
Bytes to blackbytes: 1 byte on linked Byteball address gives you 0.21111 blackbytes

If I was a newcomer I would prefer buying byteballs and link them more than link any btc address because the ratio is much better for byteball holders.
Linking BTC was good in the first round unless you have a huge pile.
