I just want to be community...No words mix up, I just want to be depressed Tongue These current asics are just too good as what comes to power/Gh-ratio that it actually would be insane to design new 20nm chip if avoidable. Design/manufacturing costs will pay the difference in electric bill for years to come.

I wonder what bitfury is doing, is there next generation coming from there as well?! Perhaps community can keep its side with open source projects somehow at least if there are good efficiency chips available.

So they Intend to Build a Farm that's capable of delivering the Hash Rate for all Pre-ordered Neptunes.

Then they build all pre-ordered Neptunes, the Network diff is going to be fecking mmmmm Difficult.

So no advantage in Mining , no matter what batch your waiting for.

I say watch for the Small print, anything that's given (and assumed to be free) could constitute delivery and negate the chance of a refund before any Physical Neptune is Shipped.

Don't know about the rest of you , but I feel violated.

Maybe time to Champion one of the Alt Currencies as this is getting out of control.

C_C

I think that their intention is OK, just wording was not the best.
As I see it they are saying the following:
1. Neptune will be delayed (most likely-duh!)
2. KnC will build a bunch of bare bones Jupiters (or call them Io or Europa for obvious reasons), connect them to data center, hopefully, before q2 end. Using these machines, KnC will GIVE us 3th of hashing per Neptune order.
3. This arrangement will be in effect until 20nm Neptune is ready, at which point (Q3 or even Q4) you will have a choice of getting a physical machine (20nm Neptune) or a 28nm to 20nm replacement cards at the data center.

Am I alone in not being too concerned about this?

KNC are going to offer cloud based hashing - great.  Why wouldn't they? I would too.
They are offering an iron clad guarantee of hashing delivery date (cloud or physical). Super.

Batch 0 preorders were $3k cheaper and 3-4 weeks sooner than batch 1, and the same price but 6-8 weeks before batch 2.
Clearly KNC have a history of looking after their existing customers, and this seems to continue in this vein.  They could so easily get the data centre up and running and taking orders while we wait for our Neptune's....

This is just the next chapter of this interesting crypto story that we will be able to say in 20 years time we were at the centre of and the trailblazers for.....

Exactly as they offered batch two for Q2 delivery.  With batch 1b a month before that and batch 1a a few weeks before that.  So early batch 1a Neptunes would see their hosted gear come online in the middle of May.  If not shipped already.

They are building a beyond massive datacentre, so they are competing against their existing customers. And they may already have shipped a massive amount of hashrate to byteminr or their own facilities. How is this "looking after" existing customers?? I believe that's called f@#king your existing customers/initial investors.

They are offering an iron clad guarantee of hashing delivery date (cloud or physical). Super.
They had an iron-clad guarantee of delivering all October orders not later than 15th October and they didn't even apologise when they missed that date. It's just a dangled carrot, like hashfast "Miner Protection Program". If it will keep a certain proportion of people from asking for refunds, it has done it's job nicely.

Batch 0 preorders were $3k cheaper and 3-4 weeks sooner than batch 1, and the same price but 6-8 weeks before batch 2.
See my previous post about how they will have "pre-mined" your 3TH before you even get it.

Even with all this info, self delusion still reigns supreme here. "KNC have a history of looking after their existing customers" - give me a break!

I bet some of the guy(s) who insisted to me just a few weeks ago that knc would ship neptune in March still believe they will  Roll Eyes

When BTC hits $2K, then $5K, then $50K due to the laws of supply and demand...I think we're all going to look back on this and wonder why we complained so much.

It's best to buy coins now.  They may fall a bit more to $600 as a new bottom...but coins are becoming more rare with each passing difficulty increase and a constant new influx of people and services wanting to use them.  The majority of the worlds big money investors still have yet to jump in.  People should be jumping in now before they do.

How is that becoming "rare" if 3600 BTC are being supplied every day?

maybe what he meant to say was that as the difficulty goes up, the network still pumps out about 3600 coin a day, but as individual miners, completing one whole coin becomes harder (RARER) unless of course you have the equipment/BTC/$$ to keep buying hardware to keep up with the increased difficulty/hash rate....therefore and individual with 1 whole coin becomes "rarer"....Paladin?

KNC are going to offer cloud based hashing - great.  Why wouldn't they? I would too.
Great for them but not for the Jupiter/Neptune owners that will earn less BTC because of increased difficulty. They've made no indication they will sell cloud hashing but only offer it for compensation if they fail to deliver.

They are offering an iron clad guarantee of hashing delivery date (cloud or physical). Super.
Yes and what iron clad date is that exactly? June 31st. By super I assume you mean negative BTC ROI?

Batch 0 preorders were $3k cheaper and 3-4 weeks sooner than batch 1, and the same price but 6-8 weeks before batch 2.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say here but if they wanted to take care of their customers, they could have sold them more Jupiters / upgrade modules instead of building their own farm to compete against us.

Neptune for sale! Only 5 BTC Cool

It's this mentality that causes so many people to buy over priced ASIC miners that will never have a positive BTC ROI. If you think the exchange rate will be 5000 USD then you can also buy BTC directly, no mining required. The only reason you should buy a Neptune is if you think it will mine more BTC than you could buy right now for the same price. The exchange rate is not a factor.

So we all did a prepaid to pay the KNC crewfor their stuff and worktime, so that they can make miners.
Now I get this message from KNC that they are building a massive datacenter and fill it with miners?

So it seems they have time en money en chips enough to build a datacenter, build miners, and bring them online.

And when they are finished, and they have time, then finally our miners can be build.
