Looks like 1st shipment reply vs. replacement shipment comment... but yeah... what is the reply when all boards are dead again on the replacement shipment? We haven't seen the outcome from that email reply with the results yet.... have we? Other than "We will be contacting UPS for a claim? UPS isn't that stupid. lol. When they see packages they inspect with wires holding components together, KNC may indeed be in for a fraud case then... lol.
***Best thing IMHO is for someone to call or visit the Stockholm UPS office with machine in hand, and direct them here, show them the pics... before KNC effects global shipping prices with their mistakes and dishonesty.
400 times 10k... twice! (8 million dollars)ouch.
Insurance fraud is a serious issue that could land you in jail, so I doubt Knc is dumb enough to go that route, but I continue to be amazed by how many poor decisions they have been making. Knc was months ahead of their competition with the Jupiter, and all they had to do was keep selling them and they would make money hand over fist. I'm sure almost all Neptune orders have been refunded by now, so Knc might as well just stop selling to consumers altogether. They have completely tarnished their name and alienated most of their customers.

Well, that may be the reason why they have marked my refund as "ready for process" as well as "payed" while it is in fact not paid at all. They just live according to the KnC-slogan: "If you can not impress them with skills, then mess with bullshit!" WTF? You never paid, and asked for a refund? Official disclaimer: I do not know this person. FYI: "Payed" on the site means... YOU PAID FOR THE UNIT, not refunded.... that shows up as "Cancelled" when the refund is complete.

It's more like "Let's ship out a box of used pinball machine parts and call it a SuperJupiter; Then when they complain, we will ship even more bunk parts... then... make a UPS claim" heh.

If I remember correctly, every time you e-mail them, you move back to the bottom of the reply list, and multiple un-viewed emails from a single address go into a spam folder. So keep that in mind.... Also... remember... the Financial department is "Extremely busy" trying to figure out more ways to stall your refund for as long as possible. And please, "Feel free" to contact Sam on the 9th hole of the Kapalua Golf course if you have any further questions.... You feeling the "Customer Appreciation" yet?

someone tell me what the fuck is going on In a nutshell, knc has seemingly joined the ranks of the customer funded ventures who have grown large enough that they've decided customers are an unnecessary liability.

In the meantime... go get thermal paste, and wire those bastards on just like they did. You may be able to re-use the same wire. Either way, we're talking ten bucks and a trip to Fry's. It may not ship well, but it will work. Consider yourself lucky it wasnt another assembled unit... time is money... Go! BTW.. congrats You are the first I heard got 18 "good" boards. (or at least whole)

Early on KnCMiner stated that they would never mine with more than 5% of the hash rate they sell. It was a form of customer protection, a hand-on-heart to say "we will not compete with our customers". The statement is still there on the FAQ page: Why are you selling the Miners and don’t mine yourself (will you use the miners for mining yourself)? We are mining ourselves, but we believe in the bitcoin project and a diversified market is the best for all parties. We will continue to mine but we do not believe in a monopoly of miners. We will not mine with more than 5% of the hash rate we sell, and we will never mine with customer hardware. Miners don't like Datorhall, because it is a mining mammoth, for pictures see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=7216.msg6304946#msg6304946As a miner, those endless rows of ASICs in that huge ex-helicopter hangar is anathema. Miners have all kinds of emotional responses: nausea... feeling of hopelessness... awe. KnCMiner may have 11.5% of the ENTIRE bitcoin hash rate, see http://organofcorti.blogspot.co.nz/2014/04/april-27th-2014-weekly-hashrate.htmlThey took the first Neptune orders in November 2013, and Datorhall popped up not long after. Some people believe that the "Death Star" was financed using our pre-order money. Terrible thought. Imagine competing against a vast army of ASICs that was funded with your pre-order money? We're all feeling the pinch of the rising mining difficulty. To increase our dwindling share of the total pie, we order the latest and greatest miner from (at the time) the ASIC mining company with the best reputation. But instead of getting more hashrate, we have funded one of the largest bitcoin mining farms in the world, which increases the mining difficulty, hence decreasing our profits - our own money being used against us. We don't have proof of this. Maybe most (or all) of the Neptune pre-order money has been sunk into 20nm development, and Datorhall was funded solely from 28nm sales. Even so, miners don't want to compete with an ASIC manufacturer who can purchase their own miners at cost. If they had so much profit from 28nm, perhaps they should have done the decent thing and funded 20nm out of that.

Right, I've followed that chain of events/thoughts pretty well so far, and I am familiar with organofcorti's claims too.
The data hall is full of jupiters, not neptunes, right ?
And it is hash power from this hall which makes it possible for KNC to provide you with a plan B in case Neptune is late, right ?
So basically, many of you cancelled your Neptune orders for refunds or for FrankenJupiter pain when Neptune wasn't late, and those of you who didn't got rewarded with the promise of a 2 for 1 deal.
And you cancelled because KNC built a data hall out of company profits and started mining bitcoin just like everybody else ?
The only complexity in this story seems to be their promise not to mine with more than 5% of the hashrate they sell … I guess if organofcorti's analysis is correct, the claim that they broke this promise must be true.
Good luck to all of you miners hoping to have bitcoin mining all to your self.
