I never feel shameful as I never bet more than I am willing to loose. My gf really only hates the losses. As I bought a scratch off the other day for 5$ scratched it and won 500$. Needless to say I used the winnings and bought 4 new tires. She was not ashamed of me then I can promise you that. We were broke and now we have 4 brand new tires!!! We were worried about how we were going to fit it into our budget!!!!

I am gambling with my own money. So, why would i feel shameful? Gambling is portrayed as a bad thing in religions and cultures. It's a complete speculative game, as long as we gamble without greed there shouldn't be much to worry.

We are same, I am ashamed to be a gambler because gambling on the stamp is a bad thing, and this is happening in my country. But now the gamble we can hide well, not even one person who knows that I am a gambler. Online gambling is the best place for someone who is in a country that hates gambling. So, there is nothing more to worry about being a gambler.

I think where it it legal it should not be a worry some as govt has allowed it and not consider it as a bad thing else they would have banned it. On other hand countries which have banned and their you gamble it could be shameful thing.

They might as well not ban it due to regulations or just because some gambling currency such as cryptocurrency is not yet reged by government rules.

Gambling is not something you should be ashamed of, if you are winning overall, it should be something to be proud of , if you are losing (like most do) than you should feel sad, maybe angry or anxiety. I mean in the end you are not doing something that would put shame to you if you said to someone else.

I think some of the people getting ashamed if they are caught for playing gambling by other people that know him because it will make him get a bad name in his neighborhood. and I think this is one of the reasons for people that will feel shameful for being a gambler and they think that it's better to stay in the dark so he can play gambling without anyone knows his habit.

As long as we are not taking advantage to other people, nothing to be shame of. If we are using our money which we consider as a excess in our budget there is nothing wrong with it. I don't mind on what other people think as long as I'm happy and contented of am I doing. Life is too short to control upon your happiness. Just always set limitations for the good of your family.

It all depends on the circumstances and the country. There are some countries that prohibit gambling such as countries where the majority of the people are Muslims. Should they be embarrassed, Muslims strongly forbid gambling. Do not mean to be racist but that is true. There are also countries that provide legalization for a gambling so why should they be embarrassed.

Yeah, but in reality there are many of them that do gambling. Here in my country that most of the people are moslems but also many people do gambling. In my case, to be honest i do feel very shameful. That's why no one knows my gambling activity until now.

Actually this depends on the gambler's life, if the gambler has a lot of wealth and lives in the luxury, other people will not consider himself lowly, even they will feel hesitant to him. But if the gambler's life is horrible, being in poverty but having this gambling habit will be a negative response from others people to him. A person's life can not be determined by the negative habits that he often does, but one's life will reverberate in spite of the negative habits of their possessions.

I would completely agree with that statement if a person is rich belongs from a reputable family and gambles no one really minds and everyone says it proudly but if it is some poor person the society starts having a negative opinion about him and is shamed for being a gambler

I only feel shameful if I bet or lose more than I have to be betting in the first place. Lately with scratch off tickets I have been winning. So lately I have not been feeling to shameful my girlfriend on the other hand doesn't care to much for it.

Why should anyone have to hide honest intentions to spend money they honestly earnt.   The only negative I can think of here is people who go into debt to gamble, then yea thats risky and should be avoided and it probably become too much of a habit and should be discontinued not hidden.

How I spend a wage packet is my business nobody elses.   If I want to spend my earnings on a bottle of whiskey and a pack of cigarettes and ruin my health a little its my business, in fact because of the tax people should be thanking me for my additional contribution to the country's endless budget fiscal spending.
If one guy isnt paying taxes like this, the burden will fall on others some of who had nothing spare.   There is zero to apologise for or hide imo.   Almost all sites allow players to ban themselves, if you have any regrets then go ahead and suspend your access to the site

It is less up to banning and prohibition but more up to considering it as a source of income as people consider it more for making money after winning a game though it is possible but its actual meaning is to entertain yourself and to make fun by playing games and less up to make money with it.

But I think in different places people react and think about gambler in different way, for example in my area as I belong to a Muslim family therefore it is totally consider as sin to play gambling either you are under age or adult but gambling is consider as a sin and everyone who play gambling if he will expose in society he will therefore feel sham.

You get the point, obviously feeling shameful for being gambler is based on ourselves on how to react the fact and react to the society. I am from Russia and I'm actually hiding my gambling from my parents only. My friends know about my interests and we even play poker from time to time together in life. But parents are such people who think only negative about such things as gambling in first. I do not want to they worry about me and possible addiction, so I simply do not share with them.

It is more of self acceptance after a point. Because others do not care what you do or what is going to happen to you because of you actions.

Some people are shaming gamblers because of how they earn it through gambling, but if you play in a casino, you are will be praised.
