The gambler will never bother about anybody they think about themselves because they are addicted to it. Even though they won't bother about their family their main aim is to gamble.

gambling is a negative thing in the eyes of society. I am embarrassed if anyone knows that I am a gambler. because they must think, why have money not used for investment, or other business, it is used for gambling.

Not all society thinks like that, I live in a society where gambling is not a taboo thing because gambling is like a traditional culture since long time ago. So people around me including me wont be shameful of being a gambler as almost 90% men in my village are used to gamble.

Now that depends from place to place , if we see in general people in societies normally feel gambling as something bad but in recent times there surely has been a change to this mentality in many places, many gamblers don't feel ashamed nowadays

Actually this depends on the gambler's life, if the gambler has a lot of wealth and lives in the luxury, other people will not consider himself lowly, even they will feel hesitant to him. But if the gambler's life is horrible, being in poverty but having this gambling habit will be a negative response from others people to him. A person's life can not be determined by the negative habits that he often does, but one's life will reverberate in spite of the negative habits of their possessions.

Well explained, it is depends on what economic status of that person have, I mean if that person has no money for their food yet he still gamble then be shame on yourself but if you can fully sustain your needs and you just gamble for enrtertainment then its fine. Gamblers are known as risk takers and for having the cojones to put their money where their mouth is.

If someone like myself chooses to habitability gamble, there is no need for panic or concern.

On the other hand, if someone clearly has a gambling addiction and it is affect his life, then maybe there can be some shame.

not all gambling are illegal but most them of them are . the only reason why higher authorities like governments restricts the act of playing a gambling is because it can cause addiction that can lead to some other seriuos problems such as stealing (e,g robery , hold up and other crimes , etc ) some people needs to do this because they are somehow addicted to gambling but gambling is not always about winning and that is their only mistake. they mistakin gambling to be a profitable hobby.

you can only be ashamed if you are doing inapropriate things  (just like i mentiond above) but if you are just a normal person that plays gambling according to their rules , then should be proud of it.

No. I do not feel shameful for being a gambler because i do not play gambling just to earn a lot of profit, i only play gambling just for entertainment or for fun and my family are playing gambling, so what to be ashamed of being a gambler. No. I do not feel shameful for being a gambler because i do not play gambling just to earn a lot of profit, i only play gambling just for entertainment or for fun and my family are playing gambling, so what to be ashamed of being a gambler. It all depends on the circumstances and the country. There are some countries that prohibit gambling such as countries where the majority of the people are Muslims. Should they be embarrassed, Muslims strongly forbid gambling. Do not mean to be racist but that is true. There are also countries that provide legalization for a gambling so why should they be embarrassed.
