Definitely not. Being a gambler is nothing to be ashamed of. I am playing with my own money. I am not stealing the money from anyone or taking a loan from the bank. So as far as I am concerned, there is nothing to be shameful about being a gambler, unless the activity is banned in your country.

As long as you stay discipline you will not regret any decision you make regarding gambling because in reality gambling is really an entertaining activity and only if we are greedy will we experience negative effect in gambling. We spend what we can afford and do it occasionally so we can limit the risk of losing money, and even if we lose but we are entertain, I think it's something to be thankful of because you achieve the real purpose of gambling.

I know of people who use Gambling to deal with stress, They use Gambling to preoccupy themselves at times of stress.
Some do Gambling because they are Bored, Whereas some do Gambling to get over Depression or Ecapism, While others just have a Habit to Gamble.

There's nothing to be ashamed of if you are a Gambler, Its a leisure for some and a way to get over above stated things for the others.
If you want to get over this addiction, then, whenever you feel the urge to gamble immediately do something that takes your mind of things.

Gambling is become bad if we use it as our hobbies or if we become addicted to it. Gambling is good in relieving your stress but make sure that it wouldn't lead this to addiction. Sometimes it is embarrassing but it's all done.

Being a gambler isn’t a thing for which one should feel proud of himself because society doesn’t entertain the gamblers as they are considered bad people of the society who can risk anything, even the life of other person just for the sake of money. Make a lot of money to meet their basic life needs. I don’t know what they would do with such money which is earned by putting someone’s life in danger.

You dont need to be shameful but when you brag to the other person about how you are making alot of money from gambling, that is shameful. I dont think so. If gambling is legal in your country and no one really gives a damn if you are gambler or not then it is ok. Your game is at your own expense. And, if you are indeed winning a lot and making a lot of money by gambling, it is not shameful. You are not robbing people. Your didnt steal your money and you didnt exploit anyone.

When we are addicted to gamble, most of the time we dont care what is going to happen to us after that. Im sure that they are some responsible gambler but when someone has no shame, that is a big difference. I know someone that has no shame when it comes to gamble, he could lose all money and just borrow it again from his family just to lose it again

If you can't think about anything else but gambling the whole day and if coming home the first thing you do is turning on the computer to gamble as soon as possible and if after you start you can't stop until your whole balance is lost, then yes gambling is a very bad thing for you. But if you just like to relax gambling for an hour or two and you can stop any time and you don't lose big money with it then there's nothing wrong with that IMO.

I quite agree with you that there is need for a gambler to be discipline as per how to gamble as that is what is affecting most addicted gamblers who lost all their money in gambling , even the last amount of money they are suppose to use for their upkeep and family, thereby painting other gamblers as if they are not responsible. Many have through gambling become very rich, while others very poor as well. The ratio is higher for the poor while for those who make it through gambling are few.I am not ashamed to be a responsible gambler.

Discipline is the first step to your story of success. If one wants to be a successful person, he should be well-disciplined because this shows how much grooming you having from your childhood.

If you will take everything in your life with discipline, I think that the chances of getting regret are very small. If gambler would be having discipline in his life, he would avoid bigger losses because he will know where to stop.

Discipline in life is the most important thing if you want to have success in your life because when you become disciplined, it means that you have put some limits on yourself which you will follow to become successful and remaining in these limits doesn’t enables you to do blunders in your life. It’s true because gambling is just the waste of time and money. If gambling was so sure that it will give profits in long terms then everyone would have been gambling for fun as well as to make money to meet their future needs. Yes i agree that it have gained a bad reputation over time and all this is because of the addicts. Anything when turns into addiction doesnt look good as if would be otherwise. Same is the case with gambling. Its not some sin or some bad thing. Its equivalent to a sport or game. It is a fun thing to do that brings enjoyment and relieves stress. But if it becomes addiction them then only it becomes overpowering. Or else i would never be ashamed of being a gambler because its just another fun game.

I am so shameful for my self when i go to casino and lose because my money is not from my own hardwork.the money i use for gamble is from my mother whose in abroad.so everytime i lose i feel so ashamed.I always hide to go because of our neighbors i dont want them to know that i am a gambler because they tell to my mother.But now i stop gambling i realize my mother sacrifices for us.

Now what do you do with you surplus money? Drink? Party? Spend on trips? All these are leisure activities, if you take gambling as one of these activities you have nothing to be ashamed of.

That's something to be shameful about but i really don't see people telling stock trader and forex trader to be shameful about the work that they are doing because its the same as gambling and aside those with insider trading, they are all depending on pure luck.

Definitely, If you are unable to fulfill your duties which you should do because they are the compulsory thing and gambling isn’t a compulsory thing.

But, I think that gambling can be a shameful thing and can be not. If the person like you are talking about is gambling to make huge amounts of profits from it, then I think this is a shameful thing because he wouldn’t be able to fulfill his duties but if he plays for fun, I think nothing bad with it.
