It would depend on which country do you live in and what type of people are surrounding you because some people see a gambler is a bad person because they usually see the negative effects or negative side of being a gambler on which they make their life miserable thats why some just like to hide themselves but if you are living on a place on which gambling is everywhere then it feels like a freedom.
I agree with you, it all depends on the country or the environment and most importantly for me to respect each other and adjust the existing environment. If you want to gamble better hidden or not gambling in public places and gambling online is better than gambling in real or general. Do it wisely and still respect each other because it is more noble  |

Many gamblers try to hide that they gamble from their friends and families and feel really shameful for that. Do you consider gambling as a bad thing? Do you feel shameful or proud for being a gambler? If it is shame what you feel what do you about it? How do you hide you're a gambler and who do you hide it from?

I live in a culture that you described. Gambling is frowned upon here. Do I consider it a bad thing? No, definitely not, as long as the person knows what they are doing, i.e. only gamble what you can afford to lose, and gambling is only for fun, not a way to make money. I neither feel shameful nor I feel proud, I just think that gambling is a very common thing to do. |

In my country it is also a bad image to be a gambler. If a guy known to be a gambler courts a woman and the woman knows he is a gambler, he is automatically turned down. And if a woman would bring a gambler suitor home and the parents find out he is a gambler, they will warn their daughter to get rid of the man right away.

In fact gambling is not bad but for most of the time the way we play gambling is not good. For most of the time we do not have any limit for playing gambling, we continue playing gambling for everything we have. |

This is serious issue in your country and better to stay away from gambling as it can effect your and family's personal life too. So it also means that gambling is either prohibited in your country or else should be avoided at all costs. To an extent it is better as you do not lose money unnecessarily. |

That can be shameful if you are not a responsible person and you are making gambling in your first list before your family and duties. And that is making gambling as a bad habit if that is bringing them a very bad result. I'm just hiding that I'm gambling because I wanted to hide it since my family already knew about it. True. Shame on a person if he will prioritized his gambling more than the needs of his family. There is nothing to be ashamed of being a gambler as long as you know how to set your priorities in life and do not get hooked on gambling or else you are gonna lose everything. |

It is your life and you chose to gamble. As long as it is not illegal, i think it is ok and don't be ashamed that you gamble. Yes, there are countries that gambling is not a norm in the society but we are on a new generation now and everything is liberal. |

In my country gambling illegal but still people continue playing gambling violating the rules of their state. |

i am not a gambler, but I think no one is really feeling shameful for being one.
I think that gamblers should fell shameful becouse you are throwing away money for fun and stupidity instead of buying something you need ortome your family needs.

Gambling destroys lives and turns people like ourselves into what we are now.
To be honest I am I ashmed being a gambler but wanting to do something to change my image to other people who knew about me that I am a gambler it is a huge step it's hard but worth the effort.

I don't find it shameful I gamble but I do feel shameful when I can't stop when I'am winning and end up losing it all.
I feel shameful for my lack of self control and not as a gambler.

Actually im not shameful of being a gambler,because its my own money i bet in gambling and i never step down my co-brother personal feeling,the only things that can make a gambler shameful is not controlling himself to being lost in gambling and being penetration of debt.this is the shameful part of being a human that you can lose your dignity because only of gambling. |

Not all society thinks like that, I live in a society where gambling is not a taboo thing because gambling is like a traditional culture since long time ago. So people around me including me wont be shameful of being a gambler as almost 90% men in my village are used to gamble. Now that depends from place to place , if we see in general people in societies normally feel gambling as something bad but in recent times there surely has been a change to this mentality in many places, many gamblers don't feel ashamed nowadays |

Personally i am not a gambler, but being a gambler is not shameful also because it is a choice, and we have to respect each other’s decision in life. If you become an addicted gambler, you just need time to realize that life needs to be driven wisely. An addict gambler has still the chance to correct his direction in life without feeling shameful.
