So I had some free time and was playing with p2pool. So here is a list of active P2Pool nodes: http://pool.nitro.gr/pools.phpAnd here is a list on the map: http://pool.nitro.gr/nodesmap.phpData are updated every hour. At midnight a new scan occurs for new nodes and offline nodes are deleted from the database. I know I'm no graphics artist - but hey it does the job Very cool, I'm surprised there are no nodes in South America (and Africa), I expect as Brazil begins to see some adoption they will begin to pop up..

Murdof, Thanks for the site its very informative. I'm currently in the M.E. and didn't know nodes were out here! Windpath, Your node is awesome!! I don't know about South America, but having lived in Africa for a while its sort of like stepping back into time a bit depending on where you are. Generally speaking I don't think the infrastructure is mature enough in about 70-80% of the continent, but I did hear a radio show talking about Bitcoin after the Christmas boom. That said I would have expected South Africa to have a node or pool. BTW to the owner of the node/p2pool in UAE pm me if you see this

Thanks Raskul, Will do. J In the meantime, do a ping to http://pool.centralcavern.uk:9332 and see what you get, you may be pleasantly surprised - if your ping is under 50ms, it should be OK to mine there... however, I will search around for a VPS nearer to where you are located. you are welcome.

J ah, in that case i'd advise not to mine here just yet - that ping will give you too many rejects. i should have more nodes active on monday of next week.

A minuscule, nothing change compared to what's needed.......10 months worth of donations to add a new coin........lol

Does it get it from the current payout list? I think P2Pool pays out donations to people who would normally earn a share if a block was found now, based on their proportion of shares.

Are you kidding? Merging a 3 month old pull request by someone else can hardly be called development - more like invisible dev has noticed his donations have dropped........what a joke

BTW to the owner of the node/p2pool in UAE pm me if you see this I'm probably the pool in the UAE. =) I run a public bitcoin node and a private p2pool instance on one of my boxes at home, mostly for my own miners.

No, it isn't better than nothing. It is nothing. Anyone with coding experience can add another coin - look at raven_pl's p2pool fork - it's got loads of coins. Adding another coin is not development - it's just another coin that people can't mine because of hardware incompatibility problems. Development is addressing issues, answering questions, posting findings/suggestions & communicating with the users of p2pool. Adding another coin that has no major user base, following or general use - on a scale of 1 - 10 - is about #100 on the list of priorities. Development my arse.

Talk about ungrateful, isn't this a change on the main branch? It allows a custom bitcoind data location. That seems useful to me! I honestly don't blame devs for not working on p2pool. I mean what's the motivation, what's the reward?
