Refund requested, no news, yifu said chips were sent out, but no info for two weeks. The promises vs bitcoin exchange rate has crashed. Steamboat, I'd like whatever is salvagable from my F16 boards to be put towards whatever project is up next... hopefully bitfury or something. And good luck to us all!

So, What's the progress on the Hardware Refunds, Steamboat?
I've been sort of waiting, thinking you were probably getting the chip refunds out of the way first. It seems that reports of refunds coming in have stopped. That leads me to believe the bulk of the chip refunds have been completed.
PLEASE update us as to the process for getting the hardware refunded. It's been quite some time since the last update. It's the end of the week, and I think we'd all like to hear something from you. I'm sure you're not going to wait till people start "screaming" again to update us?
I'm thinking it would be best to blast through the hardware refunds ASAP before people start picking apart the 25% rationale again...

at this point I think everyone should request refunds if they have not, I wonder if steamboat can ship back the chips? How will he handle that?

Yeah seems like Yifu has screwed us out of another two weeks, it probably is kind of pointless to proceed with putting those old-tech chips on boards by now.

I think so too. My guess is that Batches 1 & 2 are all that remains and my hope is that those can be processed quickly or perhaps even returned to Avalon so we can all put this behind us and move forward with a better company that actually honors customers and utilizes FIFO.

lol gen2 chips are weeks away, I wonder how we'll get raped with prices. Im hopeful though I can use my assembly and chip funds for gen2 asics if we get them fast. I hope they are worth it. And I also hope that steamboat will waive the 10% fee he charged us for gen1 on gen2 chips...

TerraHash shuts down, bitcoin miners upset with 50% refund“The biggest issue with TerraHash is they did not do a good job keeping their customers informed. The updates were few and far between,” said Michael Andrews, a computer consultant who had ordered $11,500 of equipment from the company on June 18 via PayPal and American Express, and had not yet received a refund.

Today's news from Avalon: Avalon turns One years old What a roller coaster ride it has been We went from the last to enter the ASIC mining market crowd-funded by the community to the first to shipping a consumer product in little over 4 month. On this journey, many mistakes were made, tons of things were learned and we will continue to grow as one of the groups to keep mining decentralized and support the DIY community. Those are our goals.
In the up coming week we will doing a clearance sale on the refunded chips as well as some mining units and modules to close generation one and move on to a pre-sale-less generation two of the Avalon Project.
Stay tuned as many more exciting news will be announced in the coming week. Everyone should request refunds at this point.

So FIRST they delay shipping of chips, screwing their customers. Secondly, they ship the chips that everybody paid full price for, while refunding others. Third, they announce a clearance sale on refunded chips. Fourth, that effectively screws the customers who got delayed chips at full price. What is the incentive to buy Avalon chips again? I must have missed that one.

I'm not surprised they are doing this, but it does feel very disrespectful to their current customers. There is probably enough demand in the market that they don't have to worry about pissing people off.

Steamboat should really have requested refund on all the chip buys, and instead bought clearance chips for those who wished to actually get a working miner regardless of financials. Or even gamble on gen2. Taking any delivery at full price for any delayed chips is bullshit, but hindsight is, again, 20/20.

Unfortunately the collective short term memory of consumers is extremely short... in a week everything is forgotten and forgiven, especially if there is some new toy out already
