Same problems here; it's just staying in the "Unconfirmed Reward" spot, so it's not lost... the system just seems a bit... constipated tonight.

Okay, really want to know what is up.   No blocks since 258938 which have gone confirmed show up as confirmed in my account.   Switched my mining to another pool until this is resolved.

Besides the stuck unconfirmed BTC balance right now, which I'm sure of will be fixed, It would have been nice if there had been an announcement on the site regarding the NMC payout. Something like : Hey guys, I'm gonna pay your namecoins after 6 months of inactivity. Be sure to check your wallet addresses !

Guess what : my NMC will be stuck in the blockchain forever.  Sad

did the accounts page just get modified? I no longer see any namecoin info, and it does not seem to show the difficulty/suggested difficulty anymore...?

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

We knew NMC was going away. It looks like Slush decided that since he is Autoadjusting dificulty anyway, He'd get rid of the selectable default. Kind of makes sense to me.

yesterday, six and a half hours followed by seven and a half hours.
today, 8 hours and still going.

If these long blocks paid more it would be a great result!!!!!!!!!

Edit:-  used all the babies yesterday

We had one over 11 hours not too long ago.

Well, I experimented with pool load sharing with CGMiner just a few days ago. Maybe I'll turn it back on. Slush's pool had good luck while I was trying it out. So if the luck goes thru the roof later today...

Load sharing is a better word than "skipping"
If blocks like this become more common, then load sharing may help to spread the risk. 10 Gh miners were not too exposed in the past, but now, with 60 gh and bigger units......................!
If we had an automatic bias towards the pool showing the highest luck factor, built into the software, then it would be a winner.

I'm not "pool hopping", I've setup CGMiner to split my 12 Gh between Slush and (currently) BTCGuild.  So I'm currently still mining with Slush with roughly 6 Gh and roughly 6 Gh going towards BTCGuild.

Is this a viable way to run one miner? Who knows for sure....

can you tell us which pool you do better at? Just wondering with BTCGuild being 5 times larger?

In my experience split mining, i make crap on BTCGuild regardless of the situation or hash rate.  if you want to use a backup pool, I recommend 50BTC.  I wish i'd mined 50/50 last night, but its best to throw 100% at a pool and stick with it to help increase the pools luck.

I agree with you on BTCGuild. In the 24 hour window I tested, I saw a better return on Slush then I saw on BTCGuild.  I just turned the load sharing back on to see if it would shake us out of that monster round. Annnnd since then we finished that round and put up another round twelve minutes later.  I guess it worked. I'll switch back to 100% Slush now. Next time, save the babies. Smiley

I'll look at 50BTC sometime later. I could always use them as a backup if Slush has an outage in the future.

If luck is equal, you'll make more on BTC Guild counting NMC.  If luck is not equal, obviously it depends on which pool was lucky and which wasn't.

Also, Guild has _NO_ penalty on payouts for shared hash rate or failover.  PPLNS does not penalize you if you leave, unlike exponential score where shares become worthless shortly after they're submitted in long rounds.  Once the share is submitted, it's paid just like every other until it expires (after it leaves the 'N' window).

Also:  If you submit a share, it continues to get paid for 8 hours, rather than only getting paid once (or not at all due to exponential score on slush).  It seems nobody ever factors this in when comparing payouts.  The math shows quite clearly Guild will beat slush (NMC + paid Orphans will pay better than a 1% fee difference).

RIP BTC Guild, April 2011 - June 2015

All pools have their pros and cons.

Yes, if you stop mining on Slush sometime during a round you do get hit pretty hard.

I've mined on BTCGuild before for about a week. NMC is a nice bonus, but for what I've mined there, even with the NMC factored in I still did a little better on Slush. So in my personal experience, I can get a better return mining with Slush.

I'm still mining a little bit with BTCGuild (about 10%) at least until I get enough btc to be able to get a payout.

I'm not going to get into a "my pool can kick your pool's @$$" arguement. I like BTCGuild, they have a nice website layout and the mining rewards are a little bit more consistant. If someone want to try them out, I'm not going to try and talk them out of it.

10:53:24. So. Is this the future? Will we see more and more of these ungodly long blocks, as the terra-, peta- and quexa-hash farms come online? Is the difficulty just not bad enough?
