I've been flip-flopping between EMC, BTCGuild, p2pool, and slush's.  My payouts have been basically the same across all the pools, though the speed of payments differs.  With a slow pool like p2pool, I was getting the same payout, but it may take a few days before the payments arrived.  BTCGuild, with it's fast blocks, means no waiting for payments.  EMC is fine, no problems with it to report.

I'm currently mining with Slush, out of loyalty - I started out mining there back at the start of the year with a lowly HD5870.  I was getting more BTC back then with that single 5870 than I am now with 2x ASICMiner Blades, 11 ASICMiner Erupters.  Of course it's an addiction, so I've two BitFury USBs on order, waiting on a Jalapeno since July, and am bidding on another Jalapeno April pre-order.  I know they won't make back their value now, but I'm stock piling BTC for when they shoot up to $275 again....  Undecided

i hear ya , thats a lot of hashing power you got , i dont think people realise that once bit coin goes mainstream you will be looking at a single bit coin being worth around £1000 each

Yeah, I have around 30GH at the moment, with another 19GH on it's way/ordered.  It'll keep the house warm over winter if nothing else. Smiley

I'm in the UK and my places gets proper cold so im justifying it in the same way, if i have to run a heater at least it can pay for its self lol i feel ive joined bit coin at a turning point with so many people on the fence now . i think you have to start with min 30Ghash to really see anything happen . with 600Ghash from BFL its going to be interesting to see what happens , whats your thoughts ?

That's about all they're good for ATM. Your place is warm even when you're not there as opposed to coming home to turn on the heater then wait.

I just hope the the new and improved Slush 2.0 solves this long-assed block soon and moves on Smiley

Pool luck (1 day, 7 days, 30 days): 135%, 98%, 106%

Pool luck looks normal so maybe its just the new mining world with these high difficulties and so many different pools and large solo miners. You can only cut the pie so many times until all the pieces look to small.

I'm pretty sure that luck reflects the results of the previous block found, not the current block. when this one resolves, it will drag luck down.

That is correct. A round does not factor into luck calculations until after a block is found, and when the current round is over the daily luck is going to drop well under 100%.
Ok I have a question, since posting the pool's luck and the block is still ongoing why is the 1 day pool luck going up when nothing has been found for us? It seems as this block (over 14 hours now) continues that the 1 day luck would adjust down not up, as we see in the 7 and 30day? No big deal just more curious than anything else.

 Pool luck (1 day, 7 days, 30 days): 179%, 96%, 105%

The current block will be taken into account when it finishes, it doesn't influence the calculated luck until then. Currently, some older long rounds may be dropping out of the 24 hour window, thus making our 1-day luck look better. Smiley

We don't get "bigger" rewards, but we get more of them, if we find blocks more often, and we don't have these ungodly seven or eight or fifteen hour monsters like we are having right now. And no, you don't get anything special if your worker finds the block, you share it with all of us.

I know thats why i thought this information would be of interest, the only thing ive noticed is the very long Chains like tonight another 9hour+ , and we had the 15hour one the other day, apart from that i maybe a few % down . considering the hash rate has doubled im happy with mining

if you have 1Ghash and i have 10Ghash and we work the same block my rewards will be larger than your rewards , its that simple , the same block we work will take the same time for all of us working that block , if you had 30Ghash you would get more reward than me so on and so, on hence the asic race

Yeah, for the second day in a row... that fifteen hour monster... and twelve hours again a few days ago... I'm getting kind of discouraged. Sigh.

I have much the same story as you. I started with a gpu rig that was costing me bucks to run folding at home with. Switched to Slush for BTC and have not looked back. It is an addiction. People will talk crap about ROI and such. What about the hobby of it? I payed alot of electricity for folding at home as a hobby so this does not bother me. Buying Asics, some new, some older.
Slowly gaining hash.
