STOP SELLING! heheh just kidding. I am sure it will come back, but it was disheartening to see it drop like that over the last two weeks.

The byline...is just saying there's an article listed in that writer's page but the page doesn't exist (red link).
Nice, thank you, that makes perfect sense now

Devcoin is right now for long term investors, people still dont understand altcoins enought to see devcoins advantages. Right now we have crazy situation in altoins world due to too many new alts, volume is splitted very badly due to that but this will end soon. Right now is still good time to invest in Devcoin and I am 90% sure that people that do that today, will benefit after few months. Just diversify your money into DVC. It is a good call.

Right now it sounds ridiculous but after cryptocurrency adoption across the world it really can happen. Litecoin year ago was sold by 10 cents. We live in very interesting times and still 99.99% of population doesn't know anything about crypto. So it is our time to invest.

Meh, Im an artist, to me "day trading" is opening during business hours I regret little Besides, no-one will let me play with my pennies, what can I get for 0.000005xxx cents? (US, its even more tragic in au!) Shux Im no better in crypto land than I am in fiat-ville: when I did get 100 I promptly spent them on two lotto games I think I will fit the role of "circulator" since I'm not remotely interested in investor and without winning lotto I'll never be a miner and we need all 3 to really make this work (imo)

Meh, Im an artist, to me "day trading" is opening during business hours I regret little Placing orders to buy low and sell high does not require actually sitting at the computer all day. With email notification of buys and sells from places like Vircurex it is easy to just log on and sell higher if it was a buy or buy lower if it was a sell. Keeping things in a reasonable spread is a way of adding stability to the market, following the approach MarkM has expounded upon in this thread. Following that approach has allowed me to double some of my meager holdings in crypo. Of course just to dump one's holdings is not a good thing for the market. My guess is that is what we may be seeing after share splits in DVC. If this is the case perhaps a scheme whereby the share allotments are spread out to individuals on a random basis, during the period between share splits, could be employed to help to stabilize the DVC values. Otherwise one could take advantage of that dumping should my suspicions be correct. - Nova

I would love to set up a good bot sometime for buying and selling, but I just haven't had the time to write one And getting one that is already built defeats the purpose of building it by hand to learn things Still though, I wouldn't mind and may still do it when I get more time.

Can anyone explain this mystery? coinflip@Initech:~/devcoin/src$ file ./devcoind ./devcoind: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (GNU/Linux), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.24, BuildID[sha1]=0xf1d1a8646650bc001c053dac07244e39f36f5bf3, not stripped coinflip@Initech:~/devcoin/src$ ./devcoind bash: ./devcoind: No such file or directory coinflip@Initech:~/devcoin/src$ ls -lh ./devcoind -rwxrwxr-x 1 coinflip coinflip 46M Jan 6 21:41 ./devcoind coinflip@Initech:~/devcoin/src$
Presumably the file it cannot find is not the executable itself but some file the executable is looking for. I think that is right. Just try "./devcoind getinfo"
oops missed the file not found thing. sry... prolly won't work then. Check your settings file in .devcoin/devcoin.conf and make sure everything is right in there.
