My dragons, running for 3 days now after the last firmware upgrade and set to 'performance':

One (dragon5) has a broken hashboard (only 2 out of 3 running)

However, not as expected..

I contacted support regarding my missing PSUs.  They replied:

Quote
I see the order marked as partial shipment until we receive additional tracking details. PSUs are boxed separate so there are different pickup schedules. We will email a second notification when tracking is available for this, should be in the next few days.

I am extremely happy with their responsiveness in this matter.  It's only been a few hours since I dropped the ticket.

Good info! I also dropped a service ticket to Halong last night, but no response yet. DHL just sent a note saying that my 5 are to be delivered today, a day early! I'll probably just stare at them until my PSUs arrive! It's like having an Atari 2600 on Christmas morning without any games to play...

@BlockTangle

By the way, do you realise the fact that the Halong/MyRig 1600W power supply units do not work in the 110-120V mains voltage systems ?

If you insist on performance   you will need a cooled room  70f or so and a bigger psu  like the delta 2400 watt or the hp 2450 watt.

Or do my settings  and get better results.

So you suggest to set them to efficiency ?

But why are you running a advertised 16th miner if you are running them at 13-15th ?

The object is to make money not burn off expensive tyres for the sake of making some noise. You'll make the most money by running them at the most energy-efficient setting.

You can drive a car plenty hard without burning off the tires unless you have no clue how to drive. The guy burning off the tires is the one trying to overclock and burn up his units.

That being said its a big load of crap that you cant run these at advertised specs with advertised hash rate.

For all the knocking you people do on bitmain, the miners they sell hash at the advertised rates and have power efficiency within advertised rates.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

And unlike the Halong Dragonmints, miners from Bitmain, Canaan's Avalons, and the eBits will run on ANY sha256D pool you point them at.

that is the biggest knock against them.

and the question remains  why won't  more pools add it the software is not that hard.

I know the answer to that for most major pools.

Just received my 5 units yesterday but no power supply. I opened a ticket to Halong and they quickly updated my order to partial shipment. However, no delivery date. This is frustrating because I don't know when I'll be able to run them. I used a bitmain PSU for testing one unit.

Work perfectly fine at 15.86 THS without firmware update and optimisation.

Now testing the autotuning function set at balanced. The average is at 15.50 THS.

Do you suggest the firmware update?

That doesn't change that these are more efficient than the S9 so will give you more BTC for every $ you spend on electricity. That's the only thing that should matter.

You realize that the efficiency is so close that your arguement is null and void right?

At 10 cent power you are talking about a $5/month difference in power for similar hashrates and the Dragon costs literally twice as much to purchase new.

It would take the miner running 10 years for things to even out.

You need to look at the big picture and not at one small data point.

Interesting article about Halong Mining from Cobra:

https://medium.com/@CobraBitcoin/i-think-halong-mining-is-a-scam-682e678928e6

- but Halong alredy replied in court, with proofs of miners delivery.    Cobra agreed he had been not right.  Cheesy

This term, "more than" is being used quite a bit about these miners, to justify it's shortcomings. To further the justification, the resident Bitmain Haters, ignore these shortcomings in a spiteful bliss. There's no changing their minds about it. 1 out of the 5 they ACTUALLY received, hashes near or slightly above spec, so it's instantaneously proven, to them, the Dragonmint is supreme. Nevermind the other 4, that have to be tinkered with, just to come close to the 1, with a efficiency loss. These consumers are oblivious, simply for the bragging rights of having this miner. <-------insert face palm here!!!

@BlockTangle

By the way, do you realise the fact that the Halong/MyRig 1600W power supply units do not work in the 110-120V mains voltage systems ?

Hagg, per the HM website in the FAQ's:

"Q. I have 110v supply at home, is this suitable?
A. Not really. Miners operate more efficiently with 220-240v and mining farms step down their own electricity supply to 220-240v. If you have 110v supply you will either need to purchase a 1600W PSU rated for 110v from an alternative source, use two of our 1600W PSUs for each miner, or arrange the voltage supply."

I bought 2 PSUs per miner (5 miners and 10 PSUs). Would 2 HM PSUs per miner do the trick?

Thank you! Smiley
