T1 tries to have the chip at 75C right?

All my miners have their fans at ~60% with temps at ~69C-71C.  But one miner is always at 100% even though the temps never get higher than 71C.
I tried both t1_20180418_054846.swu and t1_20180421_081246.swu firmware.  But the results seems consistent : 100% fan and 71C.
Just for troubleshooting, I tried to unplug/replug and I also tried to change the efficiency->balanced->efficiency, just to make sure it was to efficiency setting.

Someone has an idea why this would happen?

It tries to have the hottest chain at 70-75. The only time the hottest chain will be kept lower than 70 degrees is if there is a hot spot with one of the chips being hotter than the rest and close to dangerous levels and then it will keep the fan higher speed intentionally.

That comment was actually very useful.  Maybe there could be a diagnostic page where we can see the hottest chip temperature.
Anyway, I swapped the locations of the boards in the miner.  I though that the biggest airflow was probably for the middle board, if I were to place the board with the hottest chip in the middle it might help.
Also, I placed the miner on it's padded legs instead of straight up(power cables toward the side instead of on top).  The 4 other miners were all on their padded legs except that one.
Problem solved.  Now the fan is running at 60% like all the other miners.

That still doesnt excuse the fact that this is a Bitcoin Classic miner only. It cannot mine ANY other sha256d algo.

There is no such thing as "Bitcoin Classic", only Bitcoin and other altcoins. DragonMint is advertised as Bitcoin miner, there is no need to mine other shitcoins and forks since that is not what it's made for.

I am pleased to announce MyRig sent me a bill today for :

5 x T1
1 x B52
6 x MyRig psu

I was given option to send them back with no shipping cost.

Or pay with paypal

Or pay with btc.

I will be buying the gear.

My judgement on the T1 is it is better then the s-9 at the Black Friday price of 1395 plus 105 for psu.

So I will be sending 1500 x 5 = 7500 to my rig for the five t1s and 5 psus.

I do think the gear is worth that price.
-ck firmware is a big plus for the gear
A big reason I will be sending coin to myrig

This miner can mine nmc coin in merged mining on bitminter.

I am certain of this as I am doing so on his pool as I type

I see BTC as the super highway and alt coins as taxis and trucks needed to move transactions.

... once u decided to accept free hardware to change ur opinion u turned into someone u openly made comments about on the forums lol. sad

So  3 major sha 256 builders
bitmain s-9  they lie about asic boost they can mine with it when the want or not mine with it.  they do not offer this option to us
halong t1  they did not say the miner would be limited to  2 pools (now 4) they were not asked so legally they did not lie. but they practiced a deception.
avalon 841  was listed to mine in a 40 c room   they changed spec to 30c. this will be an issue for me in the summer.

all of the above have sent me gear
of the three  halong is not sending it for free and has discussed with me if I want to keep them or send them back we are at the point of me waiting for his price for the gear .
both bitmain and avalon  have sent free gear to me.
So  all 3 companies  have done wrong stuff.
and your complaint about the t1 is easy to fix as each and every sha pool op has the option to allow the gear to work or not work.
So you can stop saying I shill for Halong or bitmain or Avalon I don't.
and if people had waited like I told them to they would not have placed orders  from black friday until this april.

Once MyRig tells me what he wants for the gear I will either buy it or send it back.

bitmain has asicboost we can agree there but only on that part. bitmain listed the speed of the s9 as the actual speed. they also didnt force customers into using asic boost like halong did. halong claims the fastest miner title which isnt true since bitmains std speed is 13-14th/s (depending on the model) so if they or someone in the community activates this feature with firmware they will easily blow past halong. bitmain didnt promise 14th/s and send u 10th/s. also bitmain isnt trying to force under performing hardware on customers knowing they are out of spec. these r the words of myrig not me....so dont claim im spreading fake news or ne thing like that.

honestly i dont have experience with avalon that much. it would be silly of me to comment when i havent read up on or experienced the issues with those miners so that is y im leaving avalon out of this one.

lol u paid one of the lowest t1 prices and still think that gives ur words credit. U didnt pay back during the black friday sale. U r payin right now and by doin so ur showin how halong has given u special treatment. how do u think the folks that bought the miners at full price when they were actually for sale feel?? the limited time sale price for the miners that they missed just got offered to a "trusted" member of the community immediately while they paid over 2k per machine if im not mistaken....good job phil. u deff showed me huh?? lolol. its like u want a pat on the back for gettin a special discount right now while others had to fork over thousands and thousands of dollars for many months. but ur right....ur payment isnt bolstering my claims at all right?? If it isnt a special price for just u halong needs to refund every purchase for the diff price to make things fair. this shit is terrible and a slap to all of your faces!

also u left out the cost of the b52 miner phil lol. 5 t1's and 1 b52....did u forget to include that my "mistake"??

That still doesnt excuse the fact that this is a Bitcoin Classic miner only. It cannot mine ANY other sha256d algo.

There is no such thing as "Bitcoin Classic", only Bitcoin and other altcoins. DragonMint is advertised as Bitcoin miner, there is no need to mine other shitcoins and forks since that is not what it's made for.

wrong....they didnt tell customers that they were locked to pools with asicboost enabled. in short lyin is bad and if u think they did nothin wrong then enjoy ur miner fanboy lol. it doesnt change the facts though.

Apparently you've fallen for some propaganda.

You can try to sound all high and mighty but you just come across as an asshole.

The machine does not work as claimed out of the box. Your argument is completely meaningless. I dont care if you think its acceptable to go around individually asking every pool in the world to upgrade, that is not an acceptable answer.

Nobody buys a miner expecting they have to contact every single pool they want to use it on and hope that each of those people is willing to go out of their way, for free, to modify code to make it work.

thats exactly what i was thinkin. idk y he talks that way and links posts to wiki pages and uses fancy words to try makin others feel like lesser beings but in the end he hasnt provided any argument that goes against anything we have been sayin. his posts r so cringe worthy that i skip over his replies because i just feel like hes tryin entirely too hard.

as for the other stuff u r correct there too. work arounds that cobble together patches are not a solution to the prob. they also dont change the facts that they lied...they cheated customers.....havent met their obligations to the customers hardware/shipping/spec wise and most of all even when doing all of this they keep announcing new machines and havent given back to the customers that have been impacted by this shady way of doin business. i want comp for bitmains monopoly but im not desperate enough to take anything thrown at me. not to mention acceptin stuff from a company that just gave their "trusted" shill hardware at a substantially reduced cost while other folks had to hand over their money for months and months.

Yeah, it's definitely limiting. What if a person had planned to point their miner at a list of profit switching pools and profit switch from the list of them? (Maybe, Nicehash, Zpool, and Miningpoolhub for starters) There could be 150 different SHA-256 based coins mined and auto exchanged for BTC in that scenario, and there'd be no way to make it work with all of them even if the pool wanted to, the coin developers would all have to get involved, and there would need to be consensus.
Oh, well, I understand the perils of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottom_trawling or being a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottom_feeder .

At those depths the alt-/shit-/scam-/etc- coins have so little daylight coming in that those coins and pools have less than one full time developer available to implement the changes.

But this is your opportunity to move up the food chain. Even with very little coding skills you could see what were the changes made by -ck in his pool code and by the Core team in the official Bitcoin client. Even if those highly visible projects wouldn't accept your pull requests some of those less visible repositories would welcome them.

This is the way to personally affect your destiny, you don't have to always be the one that's getting oppressed.

Yeah but that's not for you to decide which coins I may want to speculate on. I used those pools for examples, in reality I actually mine at Slushpool. Just sayin, I'd be pissed if I had a much smaller group of pools available then I had thought when I ordered the miner. For another example, maybe I had planned to rent the miner out at Mining Rig Rentals, and have it mining at Nicehash (or Slushpool for that matter) when it wasn't being rented, thinking I was going to get premium top dollar rental fees on a rare unit with the highest hashrate available anywhere. Well, you're not going to be able to rent this miner out. Also I'm not saying that knowing the full story with the miner that I wouldn't get one. (I'm hoping I see one for sale for the same price or cheaper then a S9 when an unhappy customer realizes the pool limitations) To me it's kinda like if people were advertising the worlds hardest hammer, and they were taking orders on kickstarter, and they said it will drive nails in less swings with less force, but they cost twice the price and they had to be ordered 6 months ahead of time. Then, after they took orders for thousands of them, they mention that the hammer is so hard that it will break regular nails and you need to buy special carbon nails only available by special order to use the hammer. You can sit there and argue all day that carbon nails are better, everyone should be using them, people who use regular nails are dumb, etc, etc, etc. Those things may very well might be true, but I'm still going to be pissed if I can't just walk into True Value and buy a box of nails for my overpriced hammer.

There are a few efficiency improvements that have gone into the code which might be worth a few extra hashes, especially in balanced mode. Here's an updated firmware:

http://ck.kolivas.org/temp/t1_20180425_055323.swu

I have an issue after trying the latest firmware. After ~20 secs after the miner starts the PCBs are turning off one by one and the nothing happens. Any ideas? The same happens with the 15.04 firmware. Works fine with the original firmware.

Thank you!

The b52 is not sha gear  does not belong here on this thread and I am also buying  that.

@numnutz2009  please delete every post  or edit every post that says I did not pay for the gear. If you want to say I got a cheap price fine.

here is my statement and why I am buying the gear:

The t1  is better then the s-9 if you mine at slush
the t1 is better then the s-9 if you mine at bitminter
the t1 is better then the s-9 if you mine at any of -ck's 2 pools.

My so called bargain price  is the black Friday price.

Anyone that listened to me  would not have ordered when gear was at top price.

Now today I get a free avalon 841  my cost = zero  and I will be giving it to buysolar since he is the one that travelled to  China for the Avalon training.

Numnutz  if people had listened to me  none would have purchased any T1 gear until today. The day I purchased it.

BTW I did mutiple videos and spent days testing the gear.  Posting here  and other posts  trying to get people to understand  the value of this item.

I am also trying to get pools to adapt it.  so far 1 pool has done so bitminter.

The t1  is better then the s-9 if you mine at slush (only when you underclock it down to below what an s9 can handle without asicboost and if u only want to mine 1 coin at a pre selected pool)
the t1 is better then the s-9 if you mine at bitminter (same as the above)
the t1 is better then the s-9 if you mine at any of -ck's 2 pools. (also same as above)

what is the date of black friday phil?? and after answering that please tell me what todays date is. after answering that please tell me how u getting a speacial pricing over others that purchased these machines months ago is somehow ok?? did you put the money down upfront for the miners phil?? also did u pay the price others had to pay except for this limited promo event they did?? i already know the answers to these questions and u do as well. If u dont want to be a shill send the miners back and buy them at the full price and wait months like everyone else did. dont accept miners for free run them make money then ontop of that get a substantial discount on the hardware when u finally get around to buying them and expect ur review to be seen as legit. u were clearly influenced by the company and the free gear. period. theres no argument about that.

also if ur throwin out there that ur makin the payment and so on and so forth be sure to post the info so it can be seen by folks so they can determine how to judge what ur sayin. i can tell u im a millionaire but does that make the statement true?? i would hope u wouldnt lie about making the payment (even though its a specialty price) but considerin how u flipped sides so quickly after receiving free hardware at ur front door its harder to believe what u say.

also i read that halong claimed these miners were 30% more efficient than the s9 when they were selling them to customers. care to chime in on that huge mixup or should we pretend like i didnt ask like u have been with everything else??

also i read that halong claimed these miners were 30% more efficient than the s9 when they were selling them to customers. care to chime in on that huge mixup or should we pretend like i didnt ask like u have been with everything else??

The hardware is not free never was free and to be clear.

If people had followed my advice they would have had full info to decide if they should pay for it.

I flipped sides to say the gear was better then the s-9 only after the firmware update from ck got it to do under

.095 watts a gh.

When I received the gear at first I pointed out I was not getting specs and was doing well over .105 watts a gh
It still fails to do 16th at 1480 watts.

It does do 14.5 th at 1300 watts that is better then the s-9 does.
If you want 14.5th at 1300 watts buy this gear.
You will be stuck at four pool choices

But that pool ops are casusing this. Not the gear.

Hidden asic boost will be killed off taking away a bitmain edge that they don’t share with the common miner.

If enough pools allow overt asic boost the big loser is bitmain. Not us.

Btw bitmain knows this and attacked the dragonmint early and hard.

Bitmain also knows this is a lost cause and rather then fight they are switching to ai coin and chips in the b3 Bytom coin as they want to be king in as many Al Gore rhythms as they can.

So I can simply tell you to fuck off but I won’t as I like fighting with you on this thread.

As I know I would not have said the t1 is a little better then the s-9 if I thought it was not.

I see BTC as the super highway and alt coins as taxis and trucks needed to move transactions.

Is there any new firmware officially announced by halongmining yet? I cannot find it on their website.

I have 10 of T1 second batch, noone reachs 16 th/s at all constantly.

One even has only 2 hashboards running instead of 3, after 4 reboots and 1 firmware reset theres no change - any suggestion?

Where is this coming from? Covert asicboost doesnt work with segwit, so even if bitmain WAS using it they arent now. Which by the way there is NO PROOF of nor has there ever been.

Bitmain is branching out and building other miners because THEY ARE A HARDWARE COMPANY. That is what they do. Why is this such a hard concept for people?

If Ford only ever built the model T where would the company be now?

Bitmain is forcing others to innovate or get lost in the shuffle. That is a good thing.

The lack of objectivity when discussing things on this forum is disgusting.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

There are a few efficiency improvements that have gone into the code which might be worth a few extra hashes, especially in balanced mode. Here's an updated firmware:

http://ck.kolivas.org/temp/t1_20180425_055323.swu

Thanks for the great work on this firmware series -ck. I'm loving the fact that in efficiency mode I can actually work in the same room without hearing protection Smiley

Do we need to re-run tuning to take advantage of the changes in 20180425_055323?

Did the fan controller change from 20180421? It's overshooting/hunting more in my environment (efficiency mode / 25C room / ~35% fan speed).

Lastly, a feature request for consideration - is it feasible to store the tuning results for the various modes so the tuning process isn't necessary on mode switch?

Retuning will help with balanced but not the others. Tuning takes less time now though (about 20 mins). Yes I need to roll back the fan changes, I don't like them either (not all changes are mine.)

As I know I would not have said the t1 is a little better then the s-9 if I thought it was not.

i think ur forgettin a few things here....bitmains s9 is able to do covert ANDDDDDD overt. this means it can turn on asicboost via a firmware change right now blowin the halong miner away. most of all it can switch back to no asicboost and still run which is somethin the t1 cant do. that is a huge diff. y do u keep ignorin these facts and stickin to this pool angle?? y u that close minded?? i remember asking about the price u got and if u thought it was fair but like i said u keep ignoring all of my points and continue repeating the same thing about pools can turn this and that on.

sha256 is not the same as sha256 requiring asicboost. this miner is being compared to the s9 but its not even on the same lvl as the s9. u know this is true. ur wallet....well thats a diff story.

speaking of wallets where is that transaction info showing u paid for the miners. u demanded that i remove the comments about free miners yet i have 0 proof that u paid. we have 100% proof that u didnt mainly because u urself admitted that u didnt pay a dime for them. step up and defend ur claims buddy. a trusted member who isnt influenced by money and or the prospects of free stuff and provided an unbiased "review" shouldnt have ne issues standing behind the claims they make right??

idc what bitmain is tryin to do with other miners. right now im focused on the s9 and the t1 and ur promotion of a miner/white washin of pretty major flaws with the machines.

let me ask this very basic question....if asicboost was killed by a change to bitcoin and all other sha256 coins would this miner still be usable ANDDDDDD if the same thing happened would the s9 still be usable??

you finally posted the real problem bitmain can turn it on and off  not you or me.

and bitmain might force all asicboost to die off just to fuck the dragonmint t1

lets not kid ourselves as to how much power bitmain has in the sha 256 coin.

this miner the t1 directly attacks the bitmain stranglehold on asic boost plain and simple no more and no less.

This is why I am for the miner because bitmain could do huge covert asicboost mining at hashnest  with zero checks and balances.

I don't dislike bitmain I have and continue to purchase from bitmain.  But They don't need to hold a stranglehold on asic boost and not they no longer hold the strangle hold.

And of  course as you say  if bitmian muscles a full and complete block of asic boost the t1 gets bricked.  yes it does.  which knowing bitmain they would if they could.

Personally I like that the t1 popped the strangle hold on asicboost.

and if 1 more big pool  such as f2pool or viabtc would adapt it it would make the t1 a more effective way to lessen the edge bitmain has with hashnest and asicboost tech.

If bitmain does not practice asicboost on hashnest  now fine but if they do there is zero way to check.

WHICH IS FAR BIGGER ISSUE THEN THIS THREAD AND THE T1  which as of today is the only miner trying to stop or lessen bitmain and the asicboost edge they can be using.

Which is why  I don't mind fighting on this thread with you since I will continue to support the T1 since I see it as a viable choice mostly due to -ck's continued firmware developments.

Show me where bitmain has a watts per gh under clock with a heat throttle protection official firmware that will work on the few s-9s I have left.
the T1 does.

If my 13.5th at 1375 watts  s-9 could do 12.5 th and 1150 watts and have a throttle option firmware . Needs to be official firmware.

I would say it is slightly better then the T1.
I am flexible as I let the gear show me what it can do.

the bottom line is every sha coin can allow this to mine
and every sha pool can allow this to mine.

and at 14.5 th pulling 1300 watts it is better then a S-9   since s-9 does not do 14.5th and 1300 watts.

did it do spec of 16.0th and 1480 watts for no  and I never said it did.

Once again Is it 30% better then a s-9  no  and I never said it was.

I said it is slightly better once -ck did some firmware.
I will stand by that claim.

Do I think the T2 is better well that belongs on a different thread.
