Visited HashFast office yesterday! They where quite busy so I tried to stay out of the way but I did get to see this hashing away! Smiley

You saw the unit hashing and instead of asking why the hell they don't ship the units or taking any photo or video of the actual performance specs that everybody wants, you took a useless photo of the pcb.

Interesting that they switched to a double wide radiator with two 120mm fans similar to the H100. I wonder what the final power numbers are going to come in at?
If there's a silver lining for B1 BabyJet customers, it's that they're not going to be able to cram 3 240mm radiators into a Sierra case, so if the wider radiator is absolutely necessary and they can't just run some high flow fans hard it could delay the Sierras.

More than likely they'll just crib another lesson from BFL and include a sign in each Sierra box.

So basically still unfinished since its mining from the laptop and not a raspi.

The problem is not if they are legit or not. The problem is the constant lying.

I should probably consider ordering one of these...
Are you the next cyperdoc? Reading your post made me nervous.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

No. Just got suddenly and genuinely excited from recognizing an old friend I haven't seen in years in a photo. What a small world.

Didn't mean to blurt out his first name like that either after recognizing him in the photo. Damnit Sad

I have been following the HashFast drama as a spectator with no stake in it, and was excited to see someone I know verifying the existence of these.

My bad Sad My total bad Sad

No problem Xian01, but your friend's friend made a first level bitcoin scam and can't be congratulated with.

We were screwed one month ago. today we are totally fucked.
Imagine a week from now.

Anyway yes, it would have made more sense to ship everything possible 2 weeks ago and follow up with firmware updates. However i guess that the bigger radiator has something to do with this delay.

NO!! We don't want crapy BS miners that fail!. We want a real fully functioning product that can stay up!! No need to get crap that needs to be RMA'd! and reduces ROI anyway!

Let me try to recap the facts:

- The shipping date (Saturday) promised by a high HF official has been missed without any explanation what's happening
- There is not a single board hashing at full commercial speed (not overclocked, just full speed as shipped), only a board hashing at the lower limits for safety
- There is not a single BabyJet test-hashing in shipping form with everything included (RaspberryPi)

Is there some other important fact I've missed?

Let's see -
received wafers five weeks ago -
No word on official power draw or nominal speed

received production substrates two weeks ago
No word on official power draw or nominal speed

Production PCBs ready for baking two weeks ago -
No word on official power draw or nominal speed

Oh.. 400 baby jets have been "assembled" in Canada without pcbs, but if the pictures from gateway's trip are accurate, they are most likely going to need to undo the work they did originally installing the smaller water pump unit.

The only substantive info seems to only be shared by fellow enthusiasts rather than the company.  No clarity on how they will be honoring refunds if they miss end of the year delivery.

It seems HashFast is getting close to shipping. At least they have a working unit.. that's more than Cointerra/VMC/Black Arrow/etc. can say.

I take this as good news.

Sure, they are late... let's be honest, who here didn't expect them to be late? With such an ambitious timeline I figured they would slip on it.

At least Batch 1 purchases are covered by the miner protection plan thingy... I'm not really worried about it. I'm more worried about my VMC order.

I think the hardest part isn't that they are late... It's the lack of communication.  As it is clear they are nearing the end, they should have even more data to share rather than "waiting for chips to arrive from fab."

This lack of timely substantive communication is reminiscent of Avalon batch three... an experience I was hoping I wouldn't need to go through again.

Without any milestones or estimates it is hard to fudge when delivery is actually going to happen.  Makes it feel like they are never going to ship.
