Uh, I tend to disagree with you. Look at how batch III was priced and then think about that formula.

When I go to the English language page, it says that the chips got on a plane, and a plane departed ... I don't see anything that says a plane arrived. But Gridchip did. Source link?

Well if there are 800k chips held up in customs then someone needs to go there instead of Amsterdam, and get the chips released.
Bring a bag of Yen and pay off who you have to dumb ass.

Uh, I tend to disagree with you. Look at how batch III was priced and then think about that formula. Everyone here knows we are buying these miners out of the goodness of our hearts for the betterment of the bitcoin network. Doesn't matter when we get them - maybe next week, maybe next year, just so long as we help bitcoin survive. Well if there are 800k chips held up in customs then someone needs to go there instead of Amsterdam, and get the chips released.
Bring a bag of Yen and pay off who you have to dumb ass.

Source link? http://imgur.com/a/GR0e3Apparently it originated from here; http://www.btcman.com/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=4621&extra=page%3D1&page=4But I don't read Chinese. -- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=264696.msg2868479#msg2868479-- This has now all just been confirmed today; Basically, this team designed chips(110nm) for Avalon.
And for some unknown reason, they are looking for some new partner/investor.(40nm) And,we don't know what happened inside Avalon.
To summarize what you and johnyj have said: (1) Key members of the Avalon design team are now independent of Avalon; (2) This new design team is proposing the development of a 40nm chip; (3) The team is seeking investment - as in capital, as opposed to crowd source or pre-sales. IS THIS CORRECT?Where you assumed that they seek investment or new partner? Also, where is evident that they bitsysncom asic team has split inside? Maybe this has something to do with btc address for chip purchases? Yifu said that who claim that they own that btc address. This is why is asked for clarification. As to my inferences: (1) yuchuanzhen stated "Based on the author's words, may be some thing happened to the Avalon team. And,most like a big one." (2) and (3), yuchuanzhen stated "And for some unknown reason, they are looking for some new partner/investor.(40nm)" Again, this development is currently, in primary source, in Chinese. I think everyone who is reporting it, in English, should be very careful to be very clear. Presumptions themselves may not translate correctly, even if they are, themselves, correct. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=252233.msg2682662#msg2682662--

Once they "clear" the customs and are finally delivered, it will be interesting to see what week are these chips made in.
The writing on the chips will identify this.
Good question. People ought to do this with BFL as well.

If he doesn't come up with some sort of offering to compensate us, I cant see how he can show his face in public again.
He needs to restore his credibility, and fast. Even refunding all our money without the chips wont keep the wolf from the door.
If I get my chips NOW, and 50% refund and be first in line for free next gen ASICs, then I might be a bit happier.
If you are a bought as a group you may want to pass on that bounty to your customers.

One of the reasons I am suspect of at least some of the group buy organizers and assemblers (i.e., TH) is that they have not been vocal at all on this subject - they remain completely silent. Why have they not all banned together to find answers weeks ago? None of it makes any sense unless they are involved or in the know somehow. They may already have the chips and are mining with them. TerraHash was originally supposed to ship the first orders between mid and late July, then they said August 15, now there is NO ETA.
They didn't plan to operate like a full-on scam where nothing would be delivered, it would just be delivered late and they assumed everything would quiet down once they were delivered even though the ROI was drastically reduced. In addition the first chip buyers who have their orders may have benefited as well by having the rest of the hashing power halted.
There may be members on this topic who are involved but playing good-cop/bad-cop.

That's exactly what I've been saying since that happened. Learn the truth about who controlled those chips, and the truth about those statements, and then, and only then, would you know the truth about Avalon. Nobody cared. And anyone who might actually have known would not repeat it, because, after all, that's part of that culture. So now, here we are, with some guys trying to see if they can really buy a dozen chips out of Shenzen on alibaba. BKKcoins, burnin, terrahash, Sebastain, and the others, I'm truly sorry for your losses and disappointments.

Because while they sue Avalon, their customers will sue them. Not true, they could get their customers involved through class-action. But I wasn't even discussing a lawsuit, I am simply discussing the fact that they mentioned making no attempts at clarifying the cause for the delay, when the delay has been over a month now. When I see that someone isn't attempting to get answers I must assume they are in on it. Notice that only BKK has commented on this thread out of ALL the group buys and assemblers - they are MIA again.

Maybe now people will start to understand why ALL FULL fucking PAYMENT pre-orders are really really bad for most consumers and why the companies likes this business model (and why the want you to believe its the only way to get an ASIC made LNFAO).
You poor investomers took so much risk and what did Avalon risk, SFA IMO. Now once you poor investomers finally get your chips your profits will be 0 or quite possibly - but Avalon, with no risk makes a fucking killing either way LOL.
But hey I'd be willing to bet if Avalon sticks to the no pre-sales going forward that gen2 customers will appreciate you funding it all for them.
Wake up folks you have the goddamn POWER (money) stop supporting pre-orders, as a group with the power you can force these shady pricks to smarten up and be professionals. Well I guess that's probably to much to ask when a gold rush mentality exists.

I will go and prep the firing squad.

We do appreciate the sacrifice made by buyers of Gen 1. I am just waiting for Yifu to send the memo that the Group Buyers want to hear so that the BFL hostages...err I mean customers....get scared and jump out the nearest window.

Even if someone has "stock", there can still be shipping delays. It will take proven delivery and reliable updates. ASICminer has one of the 2 solidly under itself. Updates are still a little meh.

Maybe now people will start to understand why ALL FULL fucking PAYMENT pre-orders are really really bad for most consumers No. No, they won't. A man named Ed Miller explained why in the Journal of Finance before most of you were born (1977?). He pointed out that only in perfect information markets is the demand curve flat (homogeneous expectations, like the theory states). When there's imperfect information, then it's not, and the price (and, here, the terms) are set by the most optimistic (a kind term for "biggest fools"), which are often quite a ways from the median or the consensus. So as long as information is imperfect, there will always be a sloping demand curve, with plenty of room for plenty of fools to enrich even the most brazen of scammers.
