Again guys,

"calm down" and let the others "fight it out" - this "battle" for attention is not the "war" - play it like chess. Smiley

I actually agree with Ciyam. There is no real need for nxt to step up to the limelight at the moment.
We are still in an early development state, there is a real drawback when we go out there and explain all specifics about our protocol, the ether guys could just pick them up and perhaps implement them better.
As far as I understand ether guys have nothing concrete implemented up to now.
I would not worry about next non attendance there.

there will be a demand for the fund for all these events:

Berlin (February 12/13), Texas (March 6), Amsterdam (March, May), New York (April 7/8), Canada (April 11/13), Washington (June 20/22), Hong Kong (June 24/25), Melbourne (July 10/11), London (September 10), Shanghai (September), Las Vegas (October 6/7)

After this week we will probably know what expenses we need

It hurts my heart a little bit that all of these events are listed by CITY, except for the one in Toronto, which is listed as CANADA.

I'm Canadian.  Canada is the third-largest country on Earth, darnit, and the Bitcoin Expo is in TORONTO.  Also, I'm sorry. And I think I'd like to go to the April event.  Sorry for that, too.

I also want to make a proposal:

I want to do a podcast "Let's Talk Nxt", if you will.  I'm eager.  PM me if you'd like to collaborate.

Guys,

Don't worry - the big difference I have seen between Nxt and the others is that:

i) It *doesn't* have VC capital backing.

ii) It *doesn't* have "slick sales guys*.

iii) It *does* have smart devs and an increasing following.

iv) It *is* delivering its promises (more or less) on time.

There will always be "the next* conference - stick to what you're doing well - people are watching this space with interest.

Pretty much this.  I'd rather have the devs concentrating on the software than being concerned about giving interviews.

P.S. Nex is now nix and the majority of nix will come from donated nxt, so that is why i was so concerned for carlos. If he does take money from people and just publishes a copy of nxt and does nothing else as his most recent plan, all the people that actually send in nxt will get nothing. This has escalated from joke status

FC knows that he can't use Nxt code without removing the traps. I quoted his post that proves this somewhere...
Carlos posts a bunch of info about his company and says he is the ixcoin developer among other things and the whole nex thing was a for profit manipulation. I am shocked.
I think i deserve a small bounty for getting FC/carlos to open up :.)

...I believe the organizers should be kind enough to mention that the Nxt community received a late invite for this particular event and we should leave it at that...

We did send two guys to represent us though we could do better and plan better. It was not a very late invitation. Adam said he invited us three days ago.

Come on people:

Someone must feel responsible and competent enough? (besides optical who apparently can't make it?)

There's many names floating around here.

Not-attending is sending a message...

I am asking this with a lot of respect: why is optical such a good candidate to attend a q&a session regarding the code? Is he a member of the dev team? Did I miss something? (absolutely no offense, just want to understand)

I think mainly because I volunteered coupled with my heavy presence in this thread.  But I wasn't aware that the Q&A session was about the code I thought it was about a few aspects of nxt with the DAC and associated.  If I recall correctly what was listed in the invite.

made the offer for themselves to go.  maybe at the next conference we can have somebody

Three days is not enough time to for an event this big. I bet others got a lot more notice

Im here to support Nifty who is supporting Nxt. I always make it a habit to mention Nxt, however, Im sponsored to rock it for Peer at the conference. Nifty is there both days, eB on Sunday.

Just finished an interview with Bloomberg about innovative coins such as Nxt and Peer.

He's clearly an idiot who has no idea what the law does and does not protect.
I love it when people try to throw the word "law" around with no idea what it means.

Old fashion scare tactics.

"Defamation" is very hard to prove, plus for a company they would need to prove that their "good name" has been intentionally harmed.

Since he already did that himself, he hasn't got shit.

Nifty and I have been rescheduled, delayed and smacked around by AA all morning. Hoping to now get there before 8pm... pre launch party sounds good. They just forced us off the plane ... another awesome delay.

Nxt needs to go to 20 so we can take private planes in the future. Smiley

I am looking into my options of making my NXT Solaris client open-source and multi-platform. Since there are trade-offs, I would like to get an idea which operation systems you are most interested in, so I set up a vote: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=430593.0

Thanks for voting!
