have anyone find a block with the qt solo mining? i am 8 hours with 4770k, diff is very low now, i don't understand Sad

"killer app" of BTC = MasterCoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=265488.0Mastercoin(A new protocol layer on top of Bitcoin)
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

If anyone is still having trouble syncing with the network, this is how I troubleshooted mine:
1. Open Task Manager -> Resource Monitor
2. Under the Network tab, you'll see if memorycoin-qt.exe is doing anything. If it isn't doing anything, that means the ports are blocked.
3. Use http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ to check ports 1925 and 1968.
4. If either port is closed, it could be either Windows/personal firewall or router settings. For Windows firewall, simply add memorycoin-qt.exe to list of allowed programs, for both home and public networks. Personal firewalls should be similar, look for 'exceptions'. In your router, it varies per model. Should be in the Security section, or just look up your router model + "open port".
5. Check resource monitor again, if memorycoin-qt.exe is connecting to some external ip (ie not 127.0.0.1 or your router), it means that it's working. Just be patient.

FreeTrade, I suggest you list all the common issues and solutions in the opening post. Reading through 30 pages is not fun.

Debit: -1.00 MMC
Transaction fee: -0.0001 MMC
Net amount: -1.0001 MMC

(or not. Really not stressing it either way). I saw you did some updates on github to various things I actually like so its all good either way.

I need some MMC for testing right now. Give me 1MMC for 0.05 BTC, and post your BTC address.

Still need some?

Noob question -
The memorycoin.conf file I copied from earlier in the thread had fields "rpcuser" and "rpcpassword", what are these for? Do I need to use them? Does it have anything to do with getting the reward if you find a block?

Premine
There is a total premine of ~7.3% distributed over a wide range of addresses, comprised of two parts,
~6.2% - MemoryCoin Beta
All balances from the original MemoryCoin as at block 8820 are transferred into the new blockchain at Block 1. MemoryCoin 2.0 has 10 million coins so there is a significant dilution. This dilution does not apply to MCF supporters. You can import your balance by using your old wallet with the new blockchain.

~1.12% - ProtoShares Holders
ProtoShares owners as at Block 32000 will receive a distribution at a rate of 1 MMC for each 10PTS. With around 1 Million PTS issued, there will be 100,000MMC distributed in this way, and PTS owners will cumulatively have a 1% stake in MemoryCoin at launch.  You can import your balance by using your ProtoShares wallet with MemoryCoin. It is recommend that you transfer your balance to a fresh MemoryCoin wallet after import.

Lol difficulty retargeting algo is at his third rollercoaster bump; going from 30 to 1300 and down again...
So a dozen of blocks in minutes, followed by a one block per hour rate, followed again by dozen of blocks in minutes, and so on..

And rational miners would only mine on the low diff moments, which would only exacerbate this behavior...

Difficulty retargeting algo need work  Grin

This is normal?

This seems very wrong, but the exact same thing has happened to me.
