To change your fan speeds to slower speed use one these settings in the configurations, more options. depending on how yours is wired, one will give you fastest fan speed and the other the slowest fan speed. --avalon-fan 80-80 --avalon-fan 20-20 Mtnminer Hi, I received my bitmines today, they work form 1h and fan1 and fan2 have still 3360 RPMS, Temp id 21 degree, hoe to set this fans slowest ? best regards

Just wanted to share my experience with the unit I got. I was lucky enough to get a relatively undamaged unit.
I purchased without a power supply and added two Thermaltake 750W Gold Power supplies to the unit ($70 each). The power supplies are rated with a single rail 60A. I upgraded the firmware to the latest version without problems, and I have been running the blades overclocked at 1500 for the past couple days and they are averaging 225-230 GH/s.

Did anyone find a solution to the "half the chips on a module stopped working" problem? I believe there are two unlabeled fuses, and the running theory last I checked was one of these might have blown. I can fix the FUSE1 problem, but not the "5 out of 10 chips cold" issue.

My Xilinx USB to Jtag connector came in so I'm going to try and upgrade to the Avalon 2 MM that will be used on the new Avalon 2 55nm they are using. Still not sure what causes the half power boards because I have a machine with 2 and another with 1. Been super busy last few days

Actually, that was only my theory IFF you don't have a single "FUSE1" fuse. In the case where there is no "FUSE1" silkscreen marking and corresponding fuse, then (at least on my modules) there are 2 "P" fuses side by side about in the same place, and I would expect that one goes to half the chips and the other to the rest. If it's on a module with a "FUSE1" board, then I don't have a running theory - could be a loose capacitor to half of the VRM, not sure.

I put wire between the 2 fuses and gave enough solder to both ends to melt it with good contact. That is effectively same as removing the fuses, but fuses held the wire between them nicely so no need to remove them. Those fuses are only to protect board but who needs fuses something else is broken least power side is flowing ok. I have done same fuse shorting in my 13port USB hubs running antminers to get enough power for them.

I was having some fan issues with my three working/functioning miners with factory power supplies, I went ahead and took the plunge, flashing my units with the latest firmware, so far so good. It appears, my fan speeds have become stable since the upgrade. Here is the upgrade firmware link http://downloads.canaan-creative.com/software/avalon/20131229/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr703n-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.binIf you choose to take this route I wish you good success. I will update on the status of these units tomorrow. Also my power supplies start arriving tomorrow for the units I ordered without power supplies that took severe damage. I hope to have those two repaired and running before the weekend. I will probably flash them too. Mtnminer

Hi I have maybe stupid noob question but how did you know that you have 5 cold chips ? it is some way to check to boards ? After the night in the statistics in my mine I have measures form 230GH/s to 140 GH/s, I have to Antminer and there are stable it maybe 2-3% differential. tnx for advice br malin Did anyone find a solution to the "half the chips on a module stopped working" problem? Hi,
pls, can you somebody take a photo of pdu board from this unit? I need v1.8. I think that in my board is missing some caps and two are bad.
Anyway, order from 1/8/2014 delivered yesterday - 1/29/2014.

I sold my Avalon and did a Reset-to-Defaults
Now they buyer says its hashing only 60GH
Could someone please upload me their configuration.tar.gz from the Backup Tab?
