but history column is delayed by one hour why is that anyways? other pools offer live stats. At one time, there was a method of pool jumping which supposedly maximized profitability. It required knowledge on the progress on the current block. Some pools solved this by moving to a score based system [Slush and BTCMine] and this pool simply doesn't show block stats for an hour [or longer if a block were to take more than an hour to be solved which isn't that likely]. With the high hash rates and when blocks / hour were high, pool jumping was more difficult and I don't know if it is a viable option, especially considering the amount of work it would take to do for any significant profit. Stats delaying is not effective anymore, so a new measures may be deployed.

I rambled about DNS, but that might have nothing to do with the problem on your end. I believe that pit.deepbit.net resolves to the address of whatever server in the pool that deepbit wants you to use. Tycho? DNS load balancing? Mostly for failover and anti-ddos functions.

Well, glad I didn't leave that much in my deepbit account... This was through a proxy, seems my real IP is blocked. When have you registered and what was your login name ? "Orcworm" doesn't looks like valid e-mail to me. And I don't see any actions with this name in last weeks of my logs, only the one login attempt today.

Ach, my apologies, the proxy I was using filled the details in automatically, never thought to check what it was actually asking me for.
The site seemed to block my connection a few weeks ago but let me back in a few days later, so I assumed it would do the same now. The only thing I can think of is my IP ending up blocked whilst your site was being hit with DDoS attacks.

hello.
i don't understand this. in statistic of deepbit:
Block 131803 my share: 115 pool share: 2965964 reward: 0.00068679 btc mode: prop.
but when i count this: 50* (115/2965964) = 0.001938661427
and so on every block - less reward where is the mistake??

Same with me. Glad it's not just me going crazy. I understand you're probably busy a lot of the time Tycho, but I'd really appreciate it if you took a quick scan of your firewall and whatnot for me. I originally signed up as ' sulgent@hotmail.com' using 86.19.228.17.

I got notification from both Mtgox & Slush pool that Mtgox account hacked & compromised & password was taken, I tried to change deepbit password, which gave me this error after entering old & new password & clicked change password.
XXXXXXX User_already_exists
It seems only option to change password is to use password recovery. Also i am not sure that their is restriction to use how many characters or numbers totally for password. I tired with 18 characters can't able to change. Don't know the reason.
EDIT: Problem solved, but i never get recovery email from deepbit, checked spam folder also.

Does deepbit make automatic daily payments?
I need to know as I've only made instant payments in the past, but took a break, and my accumulated coins have been withdrawn to my BTC address.

Should be 48.5 instead of 50 right, but the result ist still way off. 0.00068679 / (48.5 * (115 / 2 965 964)) = 0.36521639 just a bit more than one third paid out. one of mine is broken too: Time/Link 16.0602:47:24 Foundin 0h29m Your 15 Total 1149726 Reward 0,00012655 Hashvalue 8,18356666666667E-006 missing btc 0,0005062095 should reward 0,0006327595 just one fifth paid out. and that was just in the 30 last stats i still have, so there could be many more

If any of them were on PPS, the reward shown in the statistics would be less than the reward received, the amount of shares displayed would be the actual amount of shares submitted, though. (If this doesn't explain the discrepancy, Tycho will have to go through his logs.)

UPDATE:- HTTPS/SSL is supported now for improved security
how is it secure when the miner is still using insecure http to send the user and password?

UPDATE:- HTTPS/SSL is supported now for improved security
how is it secure when the miner is still using insecure http to send the user and password? You can only change any settings with the account password, which really should be different from your worker password (which is only used for accessing the API, getting work and submitting shares, so nothing bad can come of others knowing it).
