Quote
It appears United Airlines uses DirecTV as their television provider. With DirecTV being a major television provider, this could mean that Dash is not only running
in-flight commercials but could also be open to running commercials viewed in households nationwide. This is a huge step for mainstreaming cryptocurrency and
bringing awareness to the industry.

Note : please read the whole article, i cant believe how this article totally flew under our radar all this time.

that is great news
i wish i could see that live !!

Decred just revealed its Politeia infrastructure for  on-chain governance.

Bootiful. A time stamped audit trail. Why didn't the Athenians think of that ?

Nice invention. (Almost as good as forcing your devs to write all the codebases that will never make it into production on top of the one that does ! Wink )

Trezor Hardware Wallet Review

Once I realized just how much Dash I had stored on my 6 year old laptop I decided it was time to move to a more secure method. I do backup my wallet.dat on a USB and keep it in a secure location but I wanted more.  The next level choice was between a paper wallet or a hardware wallet.  I like gadgets as much as the next geek so hardware wallet it is.

With a minimal amount of research it looked like the choice was between the Trezor or the Ledger Nano S. After reading some reviews I decided to go with the larger screen of the Trezor which also has a longer history with Dash.

I'm never convinced about the wisdom of using a piece of hardware who's sole purpose is to guard millions of pounds worth of money. These things seem like an exercise in building the biggest hacking target known to man. Even if the thing itself is secure, how do actually know you've got an authentic one ?

I prefer just to create an encrypted drive with the host OS and bung the wallet in there.

I used to think like this, until I got a keepkey and purchased some for the friends of mine who really don't have the skill to store coins on their own.

I don't think I can have my MN coins on there though, but for all the other coins I store, it has been a solid purchase.    Part of my trust is in Erik Voorhees though.

Not really sure how it would be targeted by hackers.  There is no battery,  backup phrase is stores else where,  key is generated on device, and you technically don't need to update the firmware once initialized.

I'm not sure of anything (after long debates in the pub after philosophy classes long ago). That said, Trezor goes to amazing lengths, for example the packaging destroys itself as you open it.

You've given me an idea though, namely to diversify coin storage more just in case.

What I wonder whenever I read something about said hardware devices...how is it ensured that the producer of those hardware wallets doesn't have a build in done to read out the keys over their own aplication that you install?

If we have it about such is there an open source public DIY hardware wallet kit?

 • postman switches the good one for a 'dodgy' one that has a beautiful black case, just like the real 'Trezor' in every respect except the internal electronics are totally designed to capture everything that's going on on your desktop and transmit it to the malevolent recipient

 • corruption of the manufacturer's supply chain. Hacked component included without manufacturer even knowing

 • some rogue programmer employee somewhere in the supply chain who's responsible for programming one of the EPROMs decides to have "some fun"

 • the manufacturer themselves goes rogue and decides to stop protecting data and start stealing it

 • a dodgy porter at one of Amazon's warehouses switches a box of real Trezors for a box of fake ones with a hack that gets activated in 6 month's time once users have got "comfortable" with their security

In summary, my general philosophy is that the more "secure" you feel with any trusted piece of technology, the more at risk you are in reality Wink

Okay so Dash is:
super fast - transactions in seconds
private - untracable options if you want
low fees
can adopt btc updates cause similar tech

Why isn't this the nr1 coin? Does it have any problems?

Dash has many problems, like the Instamine and having a reputation as a HYIP scam with bad technology and cheesy marketing.

Here is your answer.

You see Dash has no problems. It is working perfectly fine (Fact!) but it is seen as a threat by a few other lesser important crypto-currencies but also by bitcoin core developers. You can be sure if dash had a technical problem it had been ripped technical apart already by them but all they could do the last 3 years is putting bad words on dash. Pathetic behaviour. One would expect statements based on facts and proves by crypto genius developers but ...

To become the nr1 in terms of a digital cryptocurrency used for payments it will take efforts to get it known and used by all the "normal" ppl in the world and a constant development to make it simple and usable and dash is exactly doing that so it has a good chance to get there.
But that will take time and is not a process happening from today to tomorrow and that is good. The value has to grow fundamentally and not in hyped bubbles. And in that way ppl like Icy and indirectly even bitcoin core devs help dash a lot to stay in a healthy solid value grow.

dont give yourselves credit like that, Bitcoin Core Devs couldn't give a s**t what happens with your scam token. I actually made the mistake of not listening to my friends at the conference and bought some dash... its done nothing but go down in value since then.

always hear dash is doing this, dash is doing that... they don't do a f**kin' thing, its the exact same as it was at the beginning of the year!

truth of the matter is in the price and that shows it was pumped before conference and sold off after, the speakers were all either duped or in on it, payed in BTC instead of in DASH that's for sure or it was exchanged instantly, (speaks volumes!)

(edit) PS: think they've been bought off buy the EEA, bet the price never goes higher than ETH again!
