A reprisal of the first Dash conference in Venezuela drew over 350 attendees.

Late this summer, the Dash network voted to fund a series of educational conferences in Venezuela, headed up by Dash Caracas. A recent conference, a repeat of the first in the series, drew hundreds of people. Wow.  This Lack Of Progress Report indicates Dash Evolution is a bigger mess and a more embarrassing scandal than even Tezos.

An entire year wasted producing nothing of value.  While Dash Core lied and pretended the secrecy/silence was to keep (nonexistent vaporware) code safe from competition.  What a cover-up.

Now the same failing people want to keep getting paid to redo the Evolution design over and over again.

Cardano and Decred's stake-based governance models are leaving Dash's behind in their dust, just as atomic swaps, Lightning, and Bcash make InstantSend-free Dash's claim to be "digital cash" the punchline to the joke Dash has become.

So much for the cheerleading and pumping and "our vaporware is the best vaporware" snake oil marketing.

No wonder the once-vibrant and cocky DashHole community is silent on all public channels.  BTCT is a ghost town; ditto /r/dashpay and forum.dash.org.

Nobody wants to own this failure; it's an orphan.  Thus, we begin to see how Dash's fragile centralized structure cannot handle accountability, as the brittle astro-turfed community fragments and the era of mutual recriminations begins.

Once these extinctions pressures overwhelm Dash's long-term pump an inflection point is reached and this instamined scam coin's fate is sealed.

To my astonishment, Minotaur turned out to be the smart one; he sold out during the last pump and got the hell out of the Evan's Gate cult.

well from my point of view its in the same league as eth and zcash, you can see from the price alone,
eth and dash have important updates incomming and only future will tell which will emerge as the winner.
i wouldnt be surpriced if eth wants masternodes or something simliar (like mastersmartcontacts) sooner or later too.

Personally I find it easier to read up on the news being published here by the devs and Dash Force team as I cannot follow all of whats happening over in the new Discord channel. Since I am a BTCtalk regular it helps to keep a tab open for our beloved Dash thread

Wirex-SBI Joint Venture to Bring Dash Debit Cards to Japan

A joint venture between Wirex and SBI Holdings will bring Dash-backed debit cards to Japanese markets.

Wirex, a UK-based cryptocurrency debit card and exchange service, announced a joint venture with SBI Holdings. This partnership will lead to yen-denominated debit cards and cryptocurrency gateways, leading to growth into Japanese markets. This will eventually lead to a greater expansion throughout Asia and crypto-backed cards available denominated in more fiat currencies.

Wirex-Dash partnership to grow Dash’s Japan presence and market standing

Earlier this month, Wirex, which was a speaker at the first Dash conference in London, announced a strategic partnership with Dash. Japan is the most liberal country in the world at the moment, and the cryptocurrency will gain huge growth in Japan, especially in the DASH, which is more anonymised and more popular.

Dash has many problems, like the Instamine and having a reputation as a HYIP scam with bad technology and cheesy marketing.

Right now, the Dash community is infighting over the slow (nonexistent?) pace of Evolution vaporware development, wasted money on ATM/debit scams, lack of Dash Core Club communication, completely broken Budget Proposal fees/review/approval process, etc.  Apparently throwing money at random internet people and hoping for the best isn't a great governance model, but without multisig that's all Dash can do!

Dash isn't "super fast" because InstantSend is currently disabled due to being a proven security flaw allowing possible double spending.

Dash isn't "private" or "untraceable" because PrivateSend is a nearly unusable mess right now.  Slow and unreliable, plus the bounty to break PrivateSend was never funded.

Dash only has low fees because nobody is using it, reflecting its low (modifed) Metcalfe value.

Overall, it's not clear what problems Dash is proposing to solve, much less how Dash is going to solve them without modern features like RBF, Bech32, segwit, Lightning, MAST, Schnorr tree signature aggregation, etc.

Dash hasn't even fixed transaction malleability or implemented Compact Blocks.  Bitcoin Core did these things ages ago.

There is also the giant issue of critical bugs in the ancient version of Bitcon that Dash is based on.

When it's time, we're going to troll this cargo cult coin at the protocol level and show the world why you don't waste resources on marketing before the crypto is secure....

Dash's biggest problem is that it can't even defend itself from the scam accusations because the evidence just too overwhelming.  That why Tone Vays dumped it.

Sadly, the Dash community won't even discuss these issues on open forums.  They just attack the poster, post GIANT STOCK IMAGES, and recruit for their closed echo-chamber Slack.
