A Beginner’s Guide to Cryptocurrency Terms: What They Really Mean If you’re involved with any subculture for any length of time, you quickly begin to notice that it has its own vocabulary. Whether it’s a religious, political, or local community group, longtime members tend to use certain unfamiliar terms or use familiar terms in an unfamiliar way. The reason for this is mostly convenience; it’s a shorthand way of referring to concepts and ideas well-known to the group. But it can be disconcerting to new members nonetheless.

https://coinreviews.io/dash-cryptocurrency-tv-commercial/ It appears United Airlines uses DirecTV as their television provider. With DirecTV being a major television provider, this could mean that Dash is not only running in-flight commercials but could also be open to running commercials viewed in households nationwide. This is a huge step for mainstreaming cryptocurrency and bringing awareness to the industry. Note : please read the whole article, i cant believe how this article totally flew under our radar all this time.

Dash Sponsors Texas Bitcoin Conference, Dash Force to SpeakDash is a sponsor of the upcoming Texas Bitcoin Conference, with Dash Force securing a speaking slot. Held October 28-29 in Austin, Texas, the Texas Bitcoin Conference will draw dozens of speakers and a host of attendees from around the cryptocurrency world. The event is co-organized by the Crypto Show, a cryptocurrency-related radio show and longtime Dash network partner. Additionally, Dash itself is a silver-level sponsor (with a proposal submitted for treasury funding that is in passing at present), and will have a table present, as well as two Dash ATMs. According to Danny Sessoms, co-host of the Crypto Show and an organizer of the conference, he is excited about the Dash sponsorship, particularly on the presence of the Dash ATMs: “I don’t think anyone else is going to have two Dash ATMs on site. In fact I believe we’re the only ones that will have ATMs. Through our silver sponsorship I was able to get table number 17 which is right next to the entrance of the A conference room so we have great positioning.” https://www.dashforcenews.com/dash-sponsors-texas-bitcoin-conference-dash-force-speak/

Okay so Dash is: super fast - transactions in seconds private - untracable options if you want low fees can adopt btc updates cause similar tech
Why isn't this the nr1 coin? Does it have any problems?
Dash has many problems, like the Instamine and having a reputation as a HYIP scam with bad technology and cheesy marketing. Here is your answer. You see Dash has no problems. It is working perfectly fine ( Fact!) but it is seen as a threat by a few other lesser important crypto-currencies but also by bitcoin core developers. You can be sure if dash had a technical problem it had been ripped technical apart already by them but all they could do the last 3 years is putting bad words on dash. Pathetic behaviour. One would expect statements based on facts and proves by crypto genius developers but ... To become the nr1 in terms of a digital cryptocurrency used for payments it will take efforts to get it known and used by all the "normal" ppl in the world and a constant development to make it simple and usable and dash is exactly doing that so it has a good chance to get there. But that will take time and is not a process happening from today to tomorrow and that is good. The value has to grow fundamentally and not in hyped bubbles. And in that way ppl like Icy and indirectly even bitcoin core devs help dash a lot to stay in a healthy solid value grow.

Dash hasn't even fixed transaction malleability or implemented Compact Blocks. Bitcoin Core did these things ages ago. There is also the giant issue of critical bugs in the ancient version of Bitcon that Dash is based on. When it's time, we're going to troll this cargo cult coin at the protocol level and show the world why you don't waste resources on marketing before the crypto is secure.... I don't agree on most of your issues, however the security point is valid. IMO the spend on advertising is the problem, and that derives from the excess amount up for grabs every month in the proposals budget. It leads to inefficient and spurious projects, where there are large and easy profits. More resources need to be diverted to the codebase and security issues. If governed correctly, a large community would be a positive.

You are wrong. Dash isn't "working perfectly fine" because InstantSend has been disabled for the last TWO MONTHS. No DIPs have been published despite over a year of lavishly funded R&D. Dash is a parasite. Bitcoin publishes BIPs IN PUBLIC while Dash takes Core core and then bite the hand that feeds it. Dash DIPs are supposedly being developed in secret, rather than being shared with the crypto community that created 99% of Dash's code. Dash just leeches ideas and code off Bitcoin/Litecoin/Peercoin but doesn't contribute back to those projects. Dash is an ugly, parasitic leech that must be removed and burned in a fire. This is how an honorable project with integrity does development: https://github.com/bitcoin/bipsThis is how a shitty project of looters and moochers does development: https://github.com/dashpay/dipsDecred just revealed its Politeia infrastructure for on-chain governance. It's so advanced it really highlights how obsolete Dash is (no multisig, all code changes depend on centralized Dash Core entity, funding scams, funding stupid stuff like rain panchos and air shows, zero accountability, no proposal vetting process, etc.). Rather than settling for governance infrastructure that is just good enough to get the job done, we opted to create what we consider to be the ideal infrastructure for self-governance of a cryptocurrency.
We call our system for storing governance data Politeia, which is based on the ancient Greek term, meaning “a system of government”. Politeia is a system for storing off-chain data that is both versioned and timestamped, essentially “git, a popular revision control system, plus timestamping”. Instead of attempting to store all the data related to Decred’s governance on-chain, we have opted to create an off-chain store of data that is anchored into Decred’s blockchain, minimizing its on-chain footprint. While we will use it first as the basis for our proposal system, it has been developed as a generic tool that allows its users to create and maintain arbitrary data in a version-controlled and timestamped environment. ^This is what a Dash killer with actual DGBB looks like. ^This is better than any DIP the Dash Core Club has or ever will produce.

Decred just revealed its Politeia infrastructure for on-chain governance. Bootiful. A time stamped audit trail. Why didn't the Athenians think of that ? Nice invention. (Almost as good as forcing your devs to write all the codebases that will never make it into production on top of the one that does ! )

Trezor Hardware Wallet Review Once I realized just how much Dash I had stored on my 6 year old laptop I decided it was time to move to a more secure method. I do backup my wallet.dat on a USB and keep it in a secure location but I wanted more. The next level choice was between a paper wallet or a hardware wallet. I like gadgets as much as the next geek so hardware wallet it is.
With a minimal amount of research it looked like the choice was between the Trezor or the Ledger Nano S. After reading some reviews I decided to go with the larger screen of the Trezor which also has a longer history with Dash.

With a minimal amount of research it looked like the choice was between the Trezor or the Ledger Nano S. I'm never convinced about the wisdom of using a piece of hardware who's sole purpose is to guard millions of pounds worth of money. These things seem like an exercise in building the biggest hacking target known to man. Even if the thing itself is secure, how do actually know you've got an authentic one ? I prefer just to create an encrypted drive with the host OS and bung the wallet in there.

I prefer just to create an encrypted drive with the host OS and bung the wallet in there. I used to think like this, until I got a keepkey and purchased some for the friends of mine who really don't have the skill to store coins on their own. I don't think I can have my MN coins on there though, but for all the other coins I store, it has been a solid purchase. Part of my trust is in Erik Voorhees though. Not really sure how it would be targeted by hackers. There is no battery, backup phrase is stores else where, key is generated on device, and you technically don't need to update the firmware once initialized.
