Source on the instamine, if true i will add it to the cons?
Are you even paying attention? They openly advertise it as if it were a good thing...

It's funny to watch their trolls come here and accuse DRK of being instamined and that this ruins DRK, when their coin was deliberately instamined for 7 days and the Dev even brags about it as a selling point...

If you're asking for a source on that one, you're not even trying... You haven't even read the first page of their ann thread... But this is too much talk about a coin that has trolls who come to the DRK thread to advertise and get suckers to join them...

Anyone paying even the slightest bit of attention knows cloaca coin is a shitscam from day one. Proof of Stake ruins anything else you try to hybridize with it. It's a taint concept. Proof of Stake is an inherent failure by design and anything that gets combined with it is ruined as well. Only a complete fuckin' moron would buy a Proof of Stake coin no matter what it's name is.

Kristov Atlas' dontation address:
http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/address.dws?XqHt831rFj5tr4PVjqEcJmh6VKvHP62QiM.htm

Guys, I really think that Kristov should get 1000 DRK from us, so he can start his own masternode.

Therefore I offer the following: Once his address contains 700 DRK or higher, I will send the remaining DRK to complete the 1000 DRK (meaning up to 300 DRK).

Come on we can do it!

This is my promise. People in here know I'm good for it.

A relevant debunk is a relevant debunk. Trolls DO promote misinformation and if all you do is ignore them, lurkers don't learn.

It is one thing to not feed the trolls. Quite another to pass up the opportunity to educate. Make the trolls into useful idiots. Frustrate them by turning their energies into your own.

The possibility someone is able to ddos a lot of the master nodes, and has the funds to run a lot of them them selves is highly unlikely or even impossible.

A more feasible scenario is someone setting up 5000 nodes at once... Oh wait there aren't enough coins for that ;-)
This is right. Pretty difficult to take down 900 MNs in the network. There are protections built into the standard satoshi client.

Ozzie you are my advisor when it comes to these things, if you think I should move away from a VPS setup or I need to bolster the hardware/protection in anyway just let me know mate.

At the moment I'm still struggling with my connection at the warehouse and DOA for P2Pool, it shoots up to 20% whenever I'm using the connection for other things so I'm pretty close to getting a better connection.  If that happens I can get some hardware firewall loving happening and there is potential for me to host my nodes with actual hardware as opposed to a VPS provider.

Masternodes do provide a nice easily identified target - I think some effort on testnet is needed at some point soon, maybe after RC4 release, to try and break testnet MNs with such attacks and figure out what we can implement to mitigate them, because we can't stop them.

I don't know a lot about it, maybe we have a white hat among us who can assist?

You're thinking what I'm thinking, I was looking around last night to hire someone as an exercise to penetration test my masternodes...

Does anyone have any contacts at Coindesk? An updated article about RC4 is needed, this should help DRK prepare for the upcoming update/rise.

I suppose gift cards would fall under that categoy wouldn't they?

Acceptance of non-fiat denominated currencies or acceptable forms of tender just makes it easier to move away from the perception that crypto is somehow not real.

In America, private money is allowed to be created:

Quote
The government isn’t the only entity allowed to issue money. Private citizens and businesses can too, and throughout U.S. history, they often have. But private money—as such money is called—isn’t issued much these days.

Quote
In the 1800s, for example, much of the country’s paper currency consisted of notes issued by private banks.

Quote
Private money—money issued by individuals or companies—can be seen as an innovation that arises to fill a void left by the federally provided money of the day.

http://www.clevelandfed.org/research/commentary/2007/010107.cfm

Quote
Private Money in the Internet Age
With advances in information and communication technology....it seemed certain that a new form of private money, “electronic money,” would arise as an alternative to paper money and coins in everyday transactions. More importantly, the inadequacy of cash as a method for making payments in the growing world of electronic commerce seemed to lay the foundation for the emergence of electronic money.
The US government is aware and awaiting the rise of Darkcoin.

Let us not disappoint them.

No anyone can contribute via fork/Pull Request. What you are thinking of is "commit" which currently only Evan can.

https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin/pulls?q=is%3Apr+is%3Aclosed

And you don't see El Presidente there, but his coding contributions have been outside of the darkcoinproject git source, and might I add some of the very best ones  Grin I love chaeplin  Cool

Everytime I read "El Presidente" I crack up. Who started calling him that?

It was coins101 and I. I posted "Chaeplin For President" and coins101 dunked the assist with "El Presidente" in the next post. This was just before RC3. Later Evan started calling him Mr. President too  Grin Grin

It's a fitting name...  Lots of what coins101 says sticks in my head...

"You should have hold your ecash when you sold your ecash" will be memory burn forever  Grin

Not sure, I think Stan Higgins usually writes some altcoin stuff on Coindesk, dont have his contact details.

Either way there is loads of new information, just point them to:

Well then could you message your contact about the latest updates?
I'm pretty sure that this needs to be explained/shared (with) to the wider public.
The audit from Kristov should be mentioned as well.

+5

I just sent some more DRK.  I like what Kristov said in his recent World Crypto Network hangout session, he mentioned the numerous small donations he was getting which showed a lot of people supporting him from the community.  He was very thankful for the support and was looking forward to spending a decent amount of time reviewing the anonymity.

Come on lets all dig deep and get him a masternode...

No, you're the one missing the point. This is not a war against trolls. It's a war against misinformation. Trolls are merely the tool by which it is supplied.

Beating the trolls doesn't debunk their misinformation. It still stands. Quote as little as possible. Trim what they said down. Answer the question you can find in their mess. Find the question that would be left in the mind of a 3rd party and use them to answer it.

"Beating the trolls" only truly happens when you nullify the reason they came here. Ignoring them flatly does not accomplish this. It's childish, if I can be so insulting to children. It's allowing them to control the frame. The trolls themselves are irrelevant. Use their words against them when you can. Ignore them the rest of the time. And if you're bored and want to have a little fun, bait them into a trap and laugh when you spring the hammer... But that last bit is going into troll territory yourself. Only do it when there's already a huge mess anyway.

Don't be distracted by the troll and turn you attention away from the underlying goal. If you ignore the troll, the troll still wins because you've fallen for the distraction.

This was America's first coin

It was the anonymous currency of the first settlers because minting currencies was against the laws of the British government, it was in fact a capital punishment offence.

America was built on the foundations of anonymous cash, now it can have anonymous eCash, just like everyone else around the world.
