There are several unlisted pools (multipools mainly) out there. Most know about coinmine, but I've stumbled across several others while trying to track down multipools that were raping EMD before we changed the difficulty schedule. Being heavily invested in 888, I tend to notice it on other pools even when I'm looking at them for other reasons. At one time, if my old-man memory isn't playing tricks on me, I believe there was talk of an undocumented Chinese pool that was throwing a lot of hash at Octo. Not sure if they are still around... About the lack of details from the devs... Having another project that I believe in keeps me from fretting too much about Octo, but there seems to be one part that most overlook about 888. There are investors behind it. When you have someone else paying the bills, your hands get tied on certain things. While the devs may wish to release more details, their investors may be saying to keep a lid on the projects until they are ready to launch fully... Not just in beta. Just my two cents worth for tonight.

Would there be any interest in collaborating to raise funds to have a block explorer for Octo like this one?; https://chainz.cryptoid.info/jbs/It's got tons of functionality, including rich list, network generation split, live updates, etc. Apparently the annual cost for hosting and development is BTC0.25, if ten of us were interested that's about 6k 888 each at current prices

Since getting into Cryptocurrency I've had many bags, all but two have varied over time. Those are the two I see in the mirror where my eyes once shone.

I came across one like it a while back and thought that's exactly what octo needs. We'd definitely put some in for a community bounty.

Jokes are funny if their funny and maybe some people found it funny/will do when they read it but I like to remember that if someone wants to check up how Octo's getting along the first place they'd go is here. I'm a long way from remembering the names of who posted what, so when people post stuff that kinda equal trolling, such as yourself, (even when it's for a laugh) I check out a bit of their post history. Yours jumped out at me because of the relevance of what you'd said.
I'm not having a dig or being overly serious, but as you post appeared to have an effect on the market (just sells for a few hours til it hit a small wall. Just like tearz joke before. Which who knows, could be either of you eating reactionary peoples coins) And nobody had replied to your post I thought it apt to copy/paste you to help anyone who might have been spooked by your Joke, and they may indeed learn from your words. Not everyone who reads this thread and has 888 will do so as often as say you or I.
Or perhaps I'm just not on your wavelength today.
This is a great point. Any wise investor will read every page of this thread before investing their millions. It would be a shame if they were turned off by a plethora of crude jokes, and harsh criticism of the development team (warranted or not). Oh come on, seriously?, this isn't a serious business forum and any serious money knows that. A serious investor is not going to be swayed by a joke or criticism in here. They will be won or lost on business plans, strategies and potential for ROI, all of the things we're currently kept in the dark about. We may all be invested in Octo, indeed some of us have spent $1000's, but we're not the key actors, we're a piece of the puzzle and if things work out we may stand to make a good return but for now that's just a dream. Most other coins/forums start when a narcissistic dev with average coding skills decides to clone a coin to call their own, some miners attach themselves to it, hype gets generated, people start spending BTC and then a few bagholders start pitching in ideas for collaborations and utility which then feeds back into the hype cycle with varying success until, in 99% of cases, the coin dies. Octo is a bit strange in that we've been told from the beginning there a bunch of serious business plans and multiple project streams so consequently we're sat twiddling our thumbs, waiting for everything to happen and getting a bit stir crazy. We can refute the FUDers and avoid feeding the trolls but surely we should be able to freely discuss and debate and we should be able to make and take a joke now and again. We shouldn't try to micro-manage everything said in here to present a sanitised view for "investors". IMHO what Octocoin needs right now is progress on the apps and a coordinated social media assault. That's what will move the market and generate buy support. What projects have you done for OctoCoin and what business experience do you have? Me? I haven't done any projects for OctoCoin as I'm sure you were aware when asking, I don't have the time. I don't have the time because I have a large family to support and because I have spent the last 6 years building a Consultancy business that started as just me and now has 15 employees, turns over more than £1 Million per year and is about to open up a new subsidiary on another continent. Cryptocurrency is a hobby and I have no intention of making it into anything else, well it's more of an addiction really, at least until I find something else that interests me enough to replace it with. Fair enough, I was just wondering what experience was behind your insight. Have you ever thought about incorporating crypto into your business, or are you scared of it turning off clients in its fledgling state? Perhaps offering a loyalty reward program paid in crypto could be a place to start.

Fair enough, I was just wondering what experience was behind your insight. Have you ever thought about incorporating crypto into your business, or are you scared of it turning off clients in its fledgling state? Perhaps offering a loyalty reward program paid in crypto could be a place to start. Lol, I deleted my reply as you deleted your question... I have thought about funding something crypto related as an offshoot before, either mining or trading or just bag holding BTC. From an accounting perspective it would be a minefield, assets like hardware are fair enough but crypto wallets? even foreign currency exchange is clumsy and difficult to handle for most accounting packages used by SME's. I'm also constantly looking for something that might have synergy with crypto or blockchain technology (Consultancy is around Business Process Management) but haven't come up with a strong contender yet. Our clients are mostly software vendors (whose products we implement) or blue chip clients of theirs. You touch a nerve a bit with the "scared of turning off clients" comment, partly because its often hard enough just getting them to listen to us half the time as "the little guy" but also, yes, because crypto-currency is seen by a lot of the mainstream as something of a cult still. I talk about it to peers and colleagues whenever given the opportunity and they all listen with interest but ultimately I've only ever had one person express a serious interest in mining and/or trading crypto. <EDIT> I realise I just contradicted my statement that "I have no intention of making it into anything else". If I could figure a way and had the time then I guess I would, but at the moment I'm growing disillusioned by the whole thing anyway.

We're just about at the "couple weeks" the devs mentioned in their last post. It's either today or tomorrow. Will we hear from them in that timeframe? Even better, will we see any results of their work?
I'm pessimistic, but it'd be great to be wrong about that.

yeah in my mind when they said a couple of weeks i didn't take it as 2 weeks. i assumed it would be more like a month. that's just me. i'm not going to overehype it in my head when we don't get specific deadlines anymore. it's just too much of an emotional swing. for now i'm just waiting. i'm sure it'll come together soon. like you though, i'll be ecstatic if they pull through and show us a lil something this week
