3 days till the 12th for those with goldfish memories, this is when the devs said that they should have a product/service operational and ready to share with us (from the literal use of the words "in a couple weeks" aka 2 weeks). if the product isn't ready, they said they'd do a reveal anyways, more like a preview i suppose. 3 days! i'm trying to get excited here

If you ping explorer.octocoin.org It points to 162.243.141.242 which is the Murraycoin explorer. It appears Octocoin and Murraycoin are by the same devs or are working closely together / Closely enough to use the same server for their block explorers.
Edit: First post!

i thought this had been discussed in earlier posts? i mean c'mon, bholzer has been with fusionhash since megacoin and murraycoin. i think it's more of a fusionhash hosting thing than anything. i'm sure everyone here has wondered at some point if bholzer was more involved in Octo than he led on. anyways, just speculation.
i'm too lazy to look back for the posts from a few months ago, but i coulda swore that the ip addresses were a discussion already.
as for anything being "a couple of weeks" i wouldn't take that literally... i def don't get my hopes up anymore. i just sit back and wait.
the board is kinda dead lately. maybe over the weekend we will get lucky and see something

Octocoin and Murraycoin explorers are both hosted by FusionHash i thought this had been discussed in earlier posts? i mean c'mon, bholzer has been with fusionhash since megacoin and murraycoin. i think it's more of a fusionhash hosting thing than anything. i'm sure everyone here has wondered at some point if bholzer was more involved in Octo than he led on. anyways, just speculation.

This was discussed earlier (I am also too busy [lazy] to look up the exact posts). As I recall, the explanation was OctoCoin had some sort of issue with their hosting provider and FusionHash offered to host their website/explorer.

I see what you're saying, the post count's been a bit low... but there are a flurry of posts from 7 different people above. I think anticipation is building and we're maybe running low on things to say that haven't been said before (hence the fusion/murray/octo node question). We'll get a bit of news and start rolling again soon. Not dead, just a bit tired, having a nap...

I want Octo to give me 8, something, anything. another 8. Please tell me things will be good. Took a chance and am waiting, waiting, waiting. Blow my mind please with something so awesome that the statue found on Mars will be nothing in comparison. Thank you.

nobody said anything specifically is happening today. its stupid to get your hopes up because someone determines "a couple of weeks" to be an actual date.

Completely disagree. A couple weeks is an actual measure of time. And frankly, it's stupid to continue to give them a pass when they don't deliver on what they say they will.

Completely disagree. A couple weeks is an actual measure of time. And frankly, it's stupid to continue to give them a pass when they don't deliver on what they say they will. thank you. "couple" is synonymous with "pair" which are both fancy dancy ways of saying "two". this is not open to interpretation. "hey bob i'll get that report on your desk in a couple days" = 2 days. it's now been exactly 14 days, or a "couple" of weeks since the announcement. and although i agree that it's stupid to continue to give them a pass for such misconduct, i'll wait till the end of the day to make up my mind. they say they read every post in the forums, if that's true, then they obviously know we're expecting them to deliver on that thing they promised to do by today. bottom line is, if they communicate nothing once again, then it's clear that you, the people who have bought octocoin, who have mined octocoin, who have created a warm welcoming community around octocoin, are not important. their plans do not hinge upon any of us, we're inconsequential. either that or it's all a big hoax. OR they'll come through. but i gotta say, it would be nice to have some fucking solidarity with the community with this. i'm upset to see people still apologizing, this time pre-fail. frameLA, you're pre-emptively forgiving them of their failure, before they've even failed. it's laughable. come on dude.

yeah, that's nice, you know you could use your voice on a forum to push things forward instead of just saying "whatever, get it done today, or tomorrow, or next year, no rush man". While a nice thought, this isn't the way business works. people backing this coin seem so willing to just keep giving the devs an unlimited timetable, and that is hurting our investment.
i know why you all do this, you have an investment, you're scared for your investment, you don't want negativity surrounding your investment, cause then no one will want to buy any of your coins! this I understand.
the ISSUE with this, is that it puts no fire under the feet of the devs to deliver anything. they have no incentive, they have no reason to rush, they can drag their feet and release nothing month after month after month. their story is that these things take time yada yada mergers acquisitions etc etc. which is all fine and dandy, but the clock is ticking, and this is the golden time for new cryptos right now. it might not be so tomorrow.
The crypto world doesn't stop. Crypto is moving forward in leaps and bounds, what is a great plan today, will already have 10 coins doing the same thing tomorrow. other coins are doing all sorts of innovative inventive things. if we keep allowing these timetables to keep slipping, then we're just going to get left in the dust, and guess what? THAT'S BAD FOR OUR INVESTMENT!
i'd love to give these guys 5 years to figure out what they're doing and get it just right, but the crypto world doesn't work that way! I can only imagine the brilliant ideas that team octo wanted to implement, only to have them crop up in other coins, 6 months is a long time! the Scrypt algorithm is already completely outdated and we just finished the bonus blocks! This coin is moving SLOWWWW. we need some momentum, or we're going to be left behind.
p.s. one thing i can say is that whoever is writing the "octocoin" posts seems very professional, intelligent. they aren't going to get scared and run away if you voice your opinion. they might actually listen and change their behaviour.

i'm not saying what they are doing is right. i agree with you.
all i'm saying is they didn't give a date.
people say a couple of weeks all the time meaning more than plural. even if that's wrong people still do it.
nothing wrong with having hope either. i'm invested in this also and i hope they fix their shit and show us something.
i'm just not going to put words in their mouths and assume a couple of weeks meant exactly two.
obviously, it's probably not 2 weeks as we have seen nothing from them today.
