yeah, i hate to sound like tin-foil hat guy here, but this only further illustrates how all of this is perpetrated by one person.

we've never seen more than one and a half web sites, a working wallet (hold on scratch that) and a bunch of lip service.

really, tell me ONE thing that would have taken more than one person, more than a weekend (total) to do.

please stop using the word "devs" because there isn't one shred of evidence that this is anything more than a hoax by one person.

and before you try calling me out for being unfair etc. just answer that question, what proof is there? why mention a parabolic flight with no pictures? why mention service timelines to be instantly forgotten? it's easy! you're (me too) all suckers! sorry to say it, but you've all been had.

in all honesty the most plausible scenario at this point is that we've all been privvy to a university undergrad's social sciences experiment. "how long can a group of adults be strung along, with no evidence whatsoever, and how much money will they lose in the process?" i'm sure all of our screen names will appear in a peer-reviewed paper entitled: "susceptibility to gullibility in adults".

how much can greed blind an otherwise rational adult into thinking things are happening which there is no evidence for? this is cult territory, or god forbid religion.

this is such a fucking joke. I wanna hear Bholzer's side to all of this, tell us what's happened in the latest "conference call" . ppPppffffff hahahahahaah

IN SHORT, I'M REALLY FUCKING FED UP. PLEASE DON'T CRUCIFY ME.

I think Bholzer IS Octocoin.  There's been a few too many coincidences and at least one slip up on this forum where something was said and then forgotten, a copy of which was kept on the .lk clone of this forum.  Would he care to publicly refute that suggestion here? that would be much appreciated.

In fact, I have a request for the OctoCoin "dev's", please pass it on at the next conference call Bholzer...
as a show of faith why not post a short video clip promoting Octocoin in person and include one of your snaps from the parabolic flight launch so we can see you are one and the same people? I assume you have a pic of what what must have been a once in a lifetime experience?

This would make a huge difference to this "community", it would refresh and reinvigorate our brain-washing programme, errrm i mean our dedication and support.  And on the plus side, you wouldn't have to reveal any of those top secret plans, it's a win-win, let's do this. Go Team Octo Cheesy

Get your spacesuits on guys we're going To Da Mooooooon or is it mewn these days?, honestly, i lose track.  The world of Crypto moves so fucking fast when you're sat still watching a disabled market listing on Bittrex)

Yours,
SquidsOut

It's about that time.

Richie at Bittrex hasn't heard from the devs (or a squids prefers 'dev') since the last double payout issue. He cancelled all orders on the 888 market this morning. Bholzer hasn't been about, neither have fusionhush with their magic pools they're making...

Ya know, in case this is a big steaming pile of turd... how do you go about claiming/re-purposing a coin once the devs fuck off?

It's de-centralised and open source so a community can pretty much do what it likes with a coin.  The latest source code is on GitHub; https://github.com/octocoin/octocoin

Given the very low hashrate i'd imagine it is vulnerable to anybody with a small number of ASICs who wanted to fork it and wrest control from the nodes that are still running.

What would you want to re-purpose it to though?

Problem is, the main reason to do that is because we all have a lot of time and money "invested" and convincing more people to buy-in (even if we had a great hook) would be hard to do when it looks like we are just wanting to be bailed out.  There's just no incentive and there are just so many shitcoins.  The altcoin market seems to be in meltdown as it is with volumes dropping and exchanges running off with BTC.

Technologically speaking it's not even a particularly great coin.  What that was going to make it something were the grandiose plans behind it, which, by now we're all starting to realise were pure fantasy.

Since getting into Cryptocurrency I've had many bags, all but two have varied over time.  Those are the two I see in the mirror where my eyes once shone.

What I find most deplorable:

The developer posting here is clearly intelligent and can write very well. A person that gifted should not be using their strong writing ability to screw people over.

There are obviously crappy people in the world, crypto and otherwise, and it’s certainly on us for believing and buying in.

But on top of the financial loss, I just hate that we’re being left high and dry by someone who’s obviously smart enough to handle things very differently.

I want to hear from Bholzer, look like he hasn't posted in about a month. he was getting fed up with me a month ago because i was "kicking up a shit storm for absolutel no reason" etc. and i can understand people getting fed up and literally just not logging in to check this thread, i've done that for a few weeks at a time when i've been fed up before.

but currently i think that he should do the honorable thing and report to us what he knows. he's claimed multiple times to have been on conference calls with octocoin devs, and privvy to their plans etc.

with trading disabled for a week without a peep from the devs, i think it's about time we got some answers.

Bholzer, we call on you to be upfront and honest about your dealings with octocoin, and your relation to them.

i think after 7 months with ZERO information about this coin (seriously, what the fuck? NOTHING) that we're owed at the very least that.

come on Bholzer. you seem like an honest bloke, come clean with us and tell us what's been going on.

+1

And the futility of it gets to me too.  I'd almost have more respect if "Octocoin" (the poster here) had used their intellect to perpetrate a scam and taken us all in for financial gain, to have done so for nothing but the sake of doing so is somehow even more infuriating.

If you look at the last octocoin msg, the one I called bullshit, bholzer attacked me because I called it bullshit, which is what it was,I have now come to the conlusion that bholzer is DODGY, there has been some msg's in the murraycoin thread where people came to complain that he had taken money from them and never completed anything he had promised, can't remember which the other coin was, those msg's were deleted very fast. also if you look back bholzer has actually said he knows 2 of the octocoin guys, well at least thats the story he made up to market the coin create trust in the dev/s

<edit> is bholzer both fusion hash and octocoin, any way to find out???

repurposing I think is easy for someone with programming skills, but I think the issue would be, need for good ideas and plans (that are different from all the other alt coins) otherwise the coin will still be a flop in the midst of all the other repurposed  flop coins

at this point there are too many other alt coins and bitcoin 2.0 platforms offering what the octo devs said their plans were. i don't see making clones of those being anything special.

i think this deserves the fabled quad palm d'face

as disappointed as I am that no one is coming forward, i can't help but wonder what the angle is. i was serious when i said that the most plausible scenario at this point is being the unwitting subjects of a social experiment. because no one has made any money off this coin. the original pre-mine is still there, isn't it? there has never been a dump, infact this has been one of the hardest coins to actually buy in large quantities if you wanted to.

none of this adds up.

i'd understand if they are waiting to fix bittrex and launch a real product at the same time, so that once the market opens back up this isn't instadumped to 1 satoshi. i mean, that's a plausible scenario, but it's giving octocoin the benefit of the doubt, which we've given them over and over and over and over for 7 months with nothing to show for it. so it's a stretch.

still, it doesn't make sense to not contact bittrex ritchie, it doesn't make sense to not have at least tried to pump a little then dump before letting the coin die.

something fishy is definitely going on... smells like... octopus.

I agree that none of this adds up. I have no idea what's going on.

I did notice that all (I think all) of the hash on the coin at the moment is coming from here:

http://ltcd.lifeforce.info/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

That seems like a very bad thing. Like, if that random pool wasn't mining this, there would be zero hash on the coin. Not good.

i agree. it makes no sense that we haven't seen a post from the devs like the last Bittrex issue. does anyone know if the devs for sure still haven't been in contact with Bittrex?

if anything it's still really poor management.

i would hate to think it would be delisted soon. and if so, why? i mean they were on it. i would think that maybe Bittrex could confirm who they talked with on the last Bittrex issue. i mean do they only receive emails from the admin@octocoin.org email? no name or number or skype at least? that wouldn't be very professional.

strange times in OctoWorld as usual.
