These are bad times and o my the fittest will be able to survive. I am not sure what ICC can do in such situation but Rich boards can certainly help these poor board by donating some money. As long as this virus is active and spreading there will be sever problem for all. IMF has already predicted a sever recession coming soon. I have not heard a single news related about a cure. Untill a cure is out things will remain the same.

In theory, the rich boards can help the poor boards. It sounds so good. But in reality, it hasn't turned out to be a very good idea. For example, take the case of Zimbabwe. The ICC has allotted $90 million for them during 2015-23, and this is manytimes the amount that boards such as Ireland and Afghanistan receive. But have you witnessed any improvement in the situation in Zimbabwe? The money given to Zimbabwe is like celestial material being thrown up in a black hole. Almost all of it would be stolen by the corrupt officials.

If the ICC enforces transparency then all the boards will be in trouble as none of them are clean, Zimbabwe cricket is down the drains and the political system controls everything and they really do not care about the game and hence nothing can be said and they lost their players because majority are migrating to other countries and considering that is the case you only get second string players.

They are still getting money? This article says that ICC already suspended their cricket board for political interference including corruption charges and all funding is cancelled. https://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/49038834PCB seems to be in favor of having the world cup this year and they're even going for an "online fitness test": Imagine failing an online test... even Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V couldn't work in this case! Sohaib Maqsood gets injured during PCB's online fitness testLol moment for Poor guy....

^^^^ Yup.. they are still getting money.. and plenty of it. The ICC briefly suspended them in 2019. But a few months later, they were re-instated as a full member and the funding resumed. No one really cares about all the corruption going on there. The most important thing is that Zimbabwe is a full member and holds one out of the 15 votes in the general council. And this vote can be very valuable...

OK.. Now these are the questions I have, regarding the status of Zimbabwe: 1. Should test status be awarded forever, permanently? Should Zimbabwe continue to hold test status, even if they get beaten by teams such as Singapore and Namibia? 2. Won't it be better to have a limited promotion/relegation system for test status? 3. Should the ICC allow a corrupt bunch of criminals to steal around $12 million every year? 4. Should Zimbabwe be given $12 million every year, when promising teams such as Afghanistan and Ireland receive only a fraction of that amount?

As far as Test status is concern, Every team earned their status by proving their worth, so its bit harsh punishment imo (Suspension or ban on cricket board is another discussion). Every team goes through some tough phase, some come back strong but some struggles similar to Zimbabwe. Removing test status from any country is not right approach as time can change drastically for any test playing nation. Even Big 3 - India -England-Australia. ICC can control these Test format finance by forming 2 groups.. include top 6 teams in 1st group and 2nd group for next 6 teams. it can solve many problems in test cricket (Financing, Competitiveness). Swap team every year--- 6th ranking team from 1st group --- top ranking team from 2nd group, based on performance. 3. Should the ICC allow a corrupt bunch of criminals to steal around $12 million every year?
4. Should Zimbabwe be given $12 million every year, when promising teams such as Afghanistan and Ireland receive only a fraction of that amount? If corruption continues then ICC might slap permanent ban for good. I am in favor of Afghanistan, Ireland and Nepal cricket board, no matter what.

I saw on the Australian news the other night that the T20 world cup must go ahead some how as there is a lot of money at stake with broadcast rights etc... so I'm thinking that Australia will take the risk with this and go ahead with the T20 world cup but don't know if it will be played in October.

October is so far now and we can expect that within October, pandemic will not be last anymore. It is expected that the virus will not be so sharp anymore. However, if it does not start at times, ICC and others will have significant loss.

That would be really dumb. Everyone would criticize them for focusing on money rather than saving human lives. Personally, I would not watch any of those matches. Lol. Corona will only cease to be a threat when everyone are vaccinated which will probably take another year. 2020 and 2021 will be marked by Corona and things will probably get back to normal in 2022.

It appears Australia doing pretty well, infection rate is less than 1% now and PM Morrison already announced that -Its Road to recovery-. One of the populace state New South Wales already considering about reopening the schools from the next month.

I agree that they are actually doing well with just over 6.5K cases, but these are simply temporary happy states. Corona can strike back at any time and a vaccine is the only permanent solution. For example, look at China. They are once again in trouble thanks to asymptomatic cases and all their lies and manipulation of WHO messed them up.

ICC can't afford and wait for 2022 to resume its matches. No one can survive two years without doing anything. Infact they are already worried about the situation and thinking to find a way out of it as soon as possible. Main area of concerns discussed [Source: ( https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/29083533/cricketing-heads-meet-plot-way-crisis)] 1- Men T20 World Cup 2- ODI Super League 3- World Test Championship

Fair point, guess will find out soon as they already planning partial relaxation in lockdown. @johnbitco : World test championship is messed up completely. Ideally ICC should move dates of WTC final to 2022 as few teams already cancelled their tours and they are not sure - how to distribute match points- yet.

ICC to distribute the points..... Oh no...Not again India and Australia are clearly the top two teams in the World Test Championship and no other team can match them.
