Safe to say Iyer will replace SKY in the next match, given he's completely fit and if not then Gill should get a game in the middle order.

As usual Indian middle order has been the same for all the formats. The opener or the lower middle order always comes to the rescue whenever the team needs it. Shreyas Iyer is fit and most probably SKY would be replaced by him in the next test match. At the moment the match is looking interesting.

Rohit out after a long stand. I was hoping him to score 150 but the pitch is looking pretty bad. It is not at all easy for a batter to play comfortably on this pitch. I reckon a target of 150 would be good enough for India.

Although they played well, but even then India's performance in the match was not as expected. I thought they could do the same here as they scored high against New Zealand.
But among India's top order batsmen in this match, none other than Rohit Sharma could perform well and Virat Kohli was out with only 12 runs. But for the last-order batsmen, India is able to increase their score a little in the match and now Ravindra Jadeja has completed his half-century.  All things considered, for the poor performance of Australia's  in first innings , they may have to lose this Test match.

I reckon a target of 150 would be good enough for India.

With depressing KL, Kohli and SKY in middle. I don't want to see 100+ runs chase in the 4th inning.

India needs a minimum of 100 runs lead, 130 would be preferable and anything over 150 runs lead is game over for Australia.

Although they played well, but even then India's performance in the match was not as expected.

Individually some players failed but as a team, India is doing okay be it bowling or batting.

This is why he is known as Sir Jadeja. First he showed how good he can bowl and now after his half century he again proved India will need him in both test and ODI format. Axar Patel again doing his best as a batter. The confidence this guy has on himself shows with the amount of balls he has taken to score 37 runs. I think he is eyeing a half century and most probably he would get it. I still believe 150 is a good target but anything beyond it is a bonus.

Although the Australian batsmen did not play well, the performance of the Indian batsmen was outstanding. They have already collected 312 runs after losing 7 wickets. Able to take a lead of 135 runs. Probably India will be able to take a lead of 170-180 runs very easily. And the entire match is now under India's control.
Rohit Sharma got off to a brilliant start with 120 runs. Now the partnership of Jadeja and Axar Patel is leading India to big collections. Jadeja scored 60 runs unbeaten and Patel scored 49 runs.

The 8th wicket partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel is now worth 81 runs. From a position of 240/7, they have reached 321/7. Spinners have taken 6 wickets to fall so far, with Todd Murphy having figures of 36-9-82-5 and Nathan Lyon 37-9-98-1. I am yet to see Scott Boland bowling in tandem with Todd Murphy. Boland was impressive, although he is yet to take a wicket. He has figures of 17-4-34-0, and Smith dropped a difficult chance from Jadeja off the bowling of Boland earlier. BTW, it would be a good option to give some overs to Steve Smith.

I predicted that India would score more than 300 runs and India did so scoring 321 runs for 7 wickets. Indian players play so beautifully that India has always stood apart from every other team and presented itself as the king of cricket worldwide. They have been performing very well in both the T20, ODI, Test matches and have always kept themselves ahead of all the teams by winning most of the matches. India will easily win this test match with Australia

Indian players bowling and batting is very strong. I saw Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets on the first day. But in this match I think Ravindra Jadeja will have a big contribution if India win because he bowled great. Rohit Sharma is batting brilliantly.  Showed fans in India.  However, Australia fans may not have expected that Australia will play so badly in the Test match.

Indian players bowling and batting is very strong. I saw Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets on the first day. But in this match I think Ravindra Jadeja will have a big contribution if India win because he bowled great. Rohit Sharma is batting brilliantly.  Showed fans in India.  However, Australia fans may not have expected that Australia will play so badly in the Test match.

Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin are two important characters in Indian cricket which you can understand and see in this Test, this game is very important for Ravindra Jadeja as the Indian bowler has been able to completely destroy the Australian batting line in this Test. In the first innings, Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets to make Australia bowl out for 177 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja has been able to show all-round performance even after coming to bat again. He is unbeaten on 66 runs on the wicket so far and has managed to give the Indian team a lead of 144 runs. An important point is that if Ravindra Jadeja and Oxar Patel had not stayed on the wicket, the later batsmen would have folded much earlier.

Ravindra Jadeja is doing well with the bat also. But what I want to point out is that I thought this was going to be a track for the spinners. Which it is. But I was actually a little surprised to say that Nathan Lyon was unable to perform well. The youngster from Australia Todd Murphy is the one who picked up five wickets for Australia. And I think if he had a little help from others, Australia could have done better. But now it feels like the match is absolutely getting out of hand from Australia. Things do not feel good for Australia right now.

India has only 3 wickets in hand now, not five. The chance is pretty low for Jadeja to score a hundred. The condition of the pitch isn't good for batting. It is a spin friendly pitch and the opponents are using spin bowlers more than the fast bowlers. 38 strike rate is reasonable in such condition. I believe that India will win the match and Jadeja will get the man of the match award.

400 runs mark mean 220ish first innings lead for India. If this happens then it would also seal the fate of this test match.

The innings win would be an incredible result from an Indian point of view, considering we lost the toss but for this to happen Jaddu-Axar duo needs to bat another session. I would say bit too much to ask from the lower order, although they are capable bats.
