A fantastic display of resilience from the Irish lower order, that helps lead 131 runs at the end of day 3. McBrine and Hume taking charge on the pitch, and it'll be exciting to see if they can extend the target on the next day morning. McBrine, Adair, Tector, and Tucker, who don't have much experience playing test matches, have been performing exceptionally well. Irish team now put pressure back on the home side and make things more interesting.

After trailing by 155 runs in the first innings, if a team has confidence in themselves, they can level that 155 runs and give a lead of 131 runs. What would you consider such a performance from Ireland?

Some of Ireland's second innings were four wickets away for 34 runs, but some of the batsmen at the end brought this innings to a point where they really deserve credit. Ireland proved false. They came back brilliantly towards the end in the second innings against Bangladesh. 
They still have two wickets in hand and will bat tomorrow. If Ireland can put up another 100 runs on the score board by batting tomorrow then it will be a very difficult task for Bangladesh to win this match. 

However, Bangladesh will want to get Ireland's last two batsmen out soon. Ireland still has a set batsman at the wicket, hopefully he will want to make Ireland's innings bigger.

Bangladeshi bowlers took Ireland's four wickets on the second day. Even then, on the third day, the Bangladeshi bowlers could not take all the wickets of Ireland. At the end of the third day, Ireland collected 286 runs with a loss of 8 wickets. The way Ireland has performed is absolutely commendable. And at the same time, I was very surprised by Ireland's performance. They batted brilliantly. The team managed to take a lead of 131 runs. Andy McBrine remains unbeaten with 71 runs. With McBrine batting responsibly, expect Ireland to score another 30-40 runs. And if a target of 170 runs can be provided, it will be a very good target to fight for.

It is always thrilling to watch an underdog squad like Ireland, fight valiantly against a powerful adversary like Bangladesh. Ireland's lower order batsmen shown incredible resilience and perseverance to continue the innings and compile a decent total despite losing early wickets. A highlight performance was Andy McBrine's unbeaten 71 runs and it is encouraging to see guys step up when their team most needs them. Ireland has a good chance to make this match interesting and present a difficult challenge to Bangladesh with a lead of 131 runs and a probable target of 170. It is encouraging to see such accomplishments from underdog teams and athletes and it portends well for cricket's future.

As said something around 160 will be the lead and Bangladesh will win the match for sure. If the score reaches 200+ lead Bangladesh might struggle a little and win as the pitch could've changed. Soon after this test match Ireland have got test match against Sri Lanka in which the team might perform even better.

First four wickets (McCollum-0, Commins-1, Balbirnie-3, Campher-1) lost their wickets for single digit runs. They should've played better, because the opening is much important. Better the opening, upcoming players will have more confidence and perform well. If not the middle order need to be more responsible and take the risk. The performance from Tector and Tucker have helped them avoid the innings loss and give better competence to the Bangladesh team. The match predicted to end by the third day have moved to fourth day which itself a big success for the Ireland team.

They picked wickets but the tail end players are giving some resistance and with plenty of time left in the match, it is an easy win for Bangladesh.

Not in favor of handing out full member status to anyone (with test matches) but when they already got it then it's their right to play test matches. More full members should offer some tests to them (including Afghan) here n there.

Ireland were all out for 292 at the start of the fourth day of their second innings. If Bangladesh come down to bat in their second innings, they will be 137 runs behind Ireland. In a short time, two batsmen of Bangladesh will be on the field. The innings break is currently underway.

However, Ireland's batsmen performed really well yesterday.  And with this responsible batting of their own, they avoided the loss of the innings interval and brought the team to a respectable level. We couldn't fathom that some of Ireland's batsmen would perform like this in Test cricket on a pitch like Mirpur. Ireland have once again proved to the ICC that they deserve to play Test cricket. Hope to encourage them more in the next matches like this against Bangladesh.

Not a big lead by the Irish team for Bangladesh to chase. Good decision by the Bangladesh management, Litton Das to open the second innings with Iqbal. Unfortunately, Iqbal again got out cheaply. Bangladesh needs to form a partnership now and not take any risks. They only need 100 runs to win this test match.

If they can maintain this performance in the near future, I think they will do well against the big Test playing teams. However, Bangladesh need only 70 more runs to clinch victory. Of course, Bangladesh will want to win before the lunch break.

Watching the first innings it looked like the team had performed well. In the second innings Ireland have played better than the first innings. In any format of cricket the combined team effort is a must and the same ease the chance of winning. Even in this test match Ireland openers failed to contribute, if not this could've been a tough test match for Bangladesh. More the experience, better will be the performance and hope Ireland plays good cricket in its upcoming test format cricket matches.

Well.. in my previous posts, I was criticizing the performance of their younger players. But in the second innings, against all adverse odds, two of their younger players performed exceptionally well. Harry Tector made two half centuries in this match, while Lorcan Tucker made his way to a magnificent 108, which included 15 boundaries. And then the experienced Andy McBrine provided a lot of support in his patient innings of 72. Can't ignore the contributions from Graham Hume and Mark Adair as well. In short, there were plenty of positives for Ireland to take away from this match.

Achievement of Ireland in Test

Bangladesh defeated Ireland by 7 wickets in the only Test between Ireland and Bangladesh that ended. Although Ireland lost the Test, the Ireland team gained good experience between the players in an important Test match.
Ireland's Test squad consisted of 6 players who had no experience of playing Test matches, yet their brilliant performance against Bangladesh is truly commendable.

It is easy to guess by looking at the scores of the team players that inexperienced Ireland have shown success against Bangladesh in Tests, I believe Ireland will occupy a strong place in Tests in future.

Well.. in my previous posts, I was criticizing the performance of their younger players. But in the second innings, against all adverse odds, two of their younger players performed exceptionally well. Harry Tector made two half centuries in this match, while Lorcan Tucker made his way to a magnificent 108, which included 15 boundaries. And then the experienced Andy McBrine provided a lot of support in his patient innings of 72. Can't ignore the contributions from Graham Hume and Mark Adair as well. In short, there were plenty of positives for Ireland to take away from this match.

Lorcan Tucker the centurion and Harry Tector who scored fifties in both innings were both playing their first test. Ireland must bring forward such local talent rather importing players who were previously playing for Zimbabwe. Ireland lost the match but they must be very much pleased with how they played and gave a respectable fight. If they keep playing like this then they will become a good test side one day.
