Achievement of Ireland in Test

Bangladesh defeated Ireland by 7 wickets in the only Test between Ireland and Bangladesh that ended. Although Ireland lost the Test, the Ireland team gained good experience between the players in an important Test match.
Ireland's Test squad consisted of 6 players who had no experience of playing Test matches, yet their brilliant performance against Bangladesh is truly commendable.

It is easy to guess by looking at the scores of the team players that inexperienced Ireland have shown success against Bangladesh in Tests, I believe Ireland will occupy a strong place in Tests in future.

Ireland bounced back really good but still they couldn't give a trail enough to win their only test against Bangladesh.
Bangladesh played good in 1st innings  and that's the reason for their victory.
But do appreciate the team Ireland their batsmen have given some really good performances .

But in the second innings, against all adverse odds, two of their younger players performed exceptionally well. Harry Tector made two half centuries in this match, while Lorcan Tucker made his way to a magnificent 108, which included 15 boundaries. And then the experienced Andy McBrine provided a lot of support in his patient innings of 72. Can't ignore the contributions from Graham Hume and Mark Adair as well. In short, there were plenty of positives for Ireland to take away from this match.

Ireland must bring forward such local talent rather importing players who were previously playing for Zimbabwe. Ireland lost the match but they must be very much pleased with how they played and gave a respectable fight. If they keep playing like this then they will become a good test side one day.

Where everyone was expecting Bangladesh to win by an innings to Ireland coming back stronger on day 3 and gave a small lead but atleast for a nation who's new in rest this is z good performance.

Watching the first innings it looked like the team had performed well. In the second innings Ireland have played better than the first innings. In any format of cricket the combined team effort is a must and the same ease the chance of winning. Even in this test match Ireland openers failed to contribute, if not this could've been a tough test match for Bangladesh. More the experience, better will be the performance and hope Ireland plays good cricket in its upcoming test format cricket matches.

Lack of test matches and practice having problems for the Ireland otherwise things looking impressive for their future but sadly no one can do anything for this all because ICC is mess-up with their own agenda and policies which are never been good for the game of cricket, and now we are having not ideal future for the teams which are having test cap but not enough matches due to the worst strategy even still time is with them if they want to have better things need to bring few changes like have tier system in test format as now we have WTC with 2 years format this can bring good improvement and increase of quality and performance for many teams as well.
 
Big-4 are completely doing things for their own, so we are not having good future for the teams like Ireland, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and West Indies which needs more games in this format.

I absolutely loved the way Ireland played test cricket! They showed a true intent for test cricket and really impressed me. Hats off to them for this incredible achievement! It would be fantastic to see them get more opportunities to play in this format. On the other hand, Bangladesh managed to secure their first victory in 10 Tests. Winning at home after more than 3 years is quite a good achievement. What's even more impressive is that they managed to beat a team in their very first encounter in Test matches.

The match is firmly within Bangladesh's grasp. The fighting knocks from Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker and Andy McBrine gave Ireland a decent total in the second innings and made sure that an innings defeat is avoided. But what was the point in staging this test match, when so many of their main players are unavailable? Josh Little is participating in the Indian Premier League, while Paul Stirling and Craig Young are also not available. Ireland would have been competitive with a full-strength squad, but this time they were there just to make up the numbers.

Even this all is not in frame of talk but still here we have few good things which can bring drastically changes in this format and game as well because we need this format for long time with T20i could be now main focus of this game we have 12 teams which are involved in test cricket and now Ireland after five years have only 4 matches and Afghanistan having 6 matches which are completely disastrous for the teams and game and during this time because we have around 10 to 12 matches for the big-4 in one year this strategy is never been helpful even this format is not profitable for few countries, but they need to bring changes for the improvement and having better results otherwise they need to give shut up call and having only 7 or 8 teams which can give them good profit and better results as well.

In this match we have good improvement in second inning but still this was not enough as Ireland missing their few top players due to injuries or IPL which is another factor for having not full strength teams.

I honestly have to say that Ireland actually posted a good fight for the Bangladesh team. Otherwise, this match was going to be over a long time ago. The question is whether teams like Ireland should play more test matches. It takes a lot of resources and funds to organize test matches. IMO, test cricket should be restricted to the top 5-6 countries and the rest should focus mainly in the limited overs format. A lot of people in India, Pakistan, England and Australia watch test cricket because they have been doing it for many decades. But for relatively new teams like Ireland, popularizing test format is going to be extremely tough. Playing a few matches once in a while is going to be OK, but I don't think that they should go for anything more than that.

It is very difficult to stay at the crease against the Bangladeshi spin bowlers on the Mirpur pitch. This difficult task was made easy by Ireland's batsmen.
This team has the ability, they are hardworking enough. This team should be given more opportunities to play in the Test format. What a commitment by the Irish team. They never allowed Bangladesh to take them for granted. I never expected them to give a lead. I was expecting them to lose by an innings. For which I think I might have underestimated them. I am also sure most of us might have thought the same.

A lead of 138 runs might not be that big but for Bangladesh it was as they were struggling to chase it. Next destination for Ireland is Srilanka and looking at their performance against Bangladesh. I think they will give some tough time to Srilanka too. This team has a bright future. I guess in some years they would be unstoppable.

Ireland is completely new in this format with having just 4 or 5 test matches in last five years which is surely not ideal situation for any team here ICC needs to act properly if they want to have better results in test format, or they need to stop allow teams to play this format because things like currently completely waste of time and energy for them.
