Yes, it has the same safety but higher efficiency, so it is clearly the right move to go with 240V, especially for miners.
Anyone who is going to use sp30s at home likely needs some electrical work done, so you might aswell get it done properly.
As for all the rest, datacenters normally provide 208V+ and this is the more suitable circuit for your sp30s.
For miners absolutely, I never argued that point. For every household in America and every appliance, I disagree. USA 120v/240v split phase is safer than 220v European single phase.

They cannot deny you a refund, doing so would be unlawful. This has been stated repeatedly and BFL seems to be giving them now (as they have no choice), but you do have to ask for it. Also, this isn´t the BFL thread

@spondoolies Sweet, when do you project I receive my sp30 Also, do you need hosting paperwork / payment done before that to have it sent to the WA datacenter? I am asking because the only thing we received was the one email where you could register your interest, but nothing after that. I obviously want my sp30 to be online as fast as possible, and having it sent to Europe is not an option as I would have to pay 20% vat.

Also, this isn´t the BFL thread sorry that was ment for a different thread I deleted it... but they are still denying refunds if they are less then 6 months 1 day old As to the post I ment to make here ...good to see they have the chips...in hand now we can see some action from a 'legit' company that knows what it is doing in contrast to BFL.. again sorry about the wrong thread post Searing

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Just switch to a 208V or 220V circuit, 120V circuits are a stupid idea anyway.
Unfortunately this is not a financially feasible option at my location. The setup costs associated with switching from 120V to 208V plus the cost of new 208V PDUs is simply not worth it for the extra efficiency for a setup that would run for under a year. I might have mentioned this before but I go around looking for pre-wired cabinets abandoned by companies that go out of business and I just lease the current configuration for a discounted rate. Anyway even at 120V I believe the SP30 will perform adequately.

I dont know how much savings that realizes, but you might consider the groupbuy hosting option from spondoolies and fill your leased cabinets with other miners, that are not as power dependant?

Anyway even at 120V I believe the SP30 will perform adequately. not sure if this applies..I'm in the states and I am using this rather then a PDU http://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-EURO-4-International-Protector/dp/B00006HZ4M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405854736&sr=8-1&keywords=euro4just because I have 3 220v outlets near my elec box I will use 1 of the above (overkill I know) on each circuit....2 for each power supply for the SP30 1 for the KNC Titan 300mh scrypt miner If you DO pay for your elec at the place you rent ...and you CAN get 220v with permission from your landlord to your miner he likely would approve in that it adds some options/infrastructure to his rental unit of course if you don't want the landlord to know you have a miner or the guy is an ass or something the above won't work but you could always do the below ...(depending on how easy it is to get a line from your panel at your rental place) how to put in a 220v circuit (equiv you tube videos for EU I'd bet) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMgwZDtR4twme I had this same problem renting ...I just put a plug in...it was for a 220v a/c unit....landlord never even noticed....same deal I paid electric bill on the apt. So, when is the first batch SP30 going to be delivered?
Well this month for sure even if there are just 10 days left. I know they are a good crew but without even having the first set of chips in you think it will really be that smooth? How do you know they don't have the first set of chips in hand? You don't. Please tell me how you know that for sure, you do not know my background nor my dealing with Spondoolies or any other manufacturer, I am making statements based on the foundry production timelines as the industry isn't magic but a fairly well understood process if you have proper background... If you so close to them you should know the answer as well, let's assume you are close to them and know the answer, under NDA or not you shouldn't be making the statements above no matter the case because that is extremely irresponsible as you are not a formal representative of the company but you are trying to push your GB..

They just announced they get the chips on Tuesday, so is this argument really worth having? You can go from chips to finished pick and place and working miners in like 3 days, even KNC managed that on their first product.

That's correct. I don't know your background dealing with SP-Tech, but I do know that they said they will have chips late July and I do believe that it will be smooth and 10 days are plenty enough to get chips in hand and ship their small July batch. Knowing the production timelines you should also know that this is either a hit or a miss and if it's a hit they will not need a lot of days to get the miners rolling out of the door once they have chips in hand just as Collider stated. If you so close to them you should know the answer as well, let's assume you are close to them and know the answer, under NDA or not you shouldn't be making the statements above no matter the case because that is extremely irresponsible as you are not a formal representative of the company but you are trying to push your GB..
I haven't made any statement and I'm not trying to push any GB. Both of my GB are closed. Fair enough, RoadStress brought a piss poor attitude with his response so I addressed it, thanks for pointing out the real status of the chips...
Discussing over the Internet (or text arguing) has its pros and cons. One of the cons (or pro) is that the reader is free to interpret the statements as he pleases. I don't think that my reply was that bad as you state and it wasn't my intention to attack you with that reply. To be honest, at first I wanted to give you an aggressive reply, but I changed my mind and gave you a normal reply. Stating that you don't know if they have or not chips in hand still seems to be a fair reply. It's not an attack. You misinterpreted my reply and I had no intention to attack you. I also agree that sometimes I'm giving swifter replies to FUDsters, but this wasn't the case. If this was a real life discussion I am sure that you wouldn't have misinterpreted my reply. Let's wait and see what will next week bring us in terms of news from SP-Tech instead of arguing or making predictions. Peace! (because we all need it)
