OK. Delivery for August correct ? If so can you arrange to have it transferred to me ? I will only buy it back for cash  value you paid in the group buy. Provided I will receive the customer compensation lets get the ball rolling here.

Yes, I was in the Aug group buy.
If you can contact the SP-Tech sales dept and they agree to transfer the order to you
Ill take my money back.  PM me and Ill give you the order number.
If Im paid in BTC it will have to be via CoinBase invoice at the rate of time of payment.
The price is dropping like a rock so I wont agree on a BTC amount now.

The power requirement was stated as being 2500W (it still is on the website). The input rating is specced at 90-264VAC. Clearly a 15A/120V circuit (2 of them) would be sufficient to run this device and people have made purchasing decisions based on this.

Now Spondoolies has announced that the power spec has changed to 3000W. It was never 3000W; it was 2500W up to this point. Two 15A/120V circuits are no longer sufficient to run it; they cannot sustain 3000W.

The power supplies they announced that they'll use are Emerson and Murata. Emerson is 1500W max at the wall. Murata is a little over 1600W max at the wall. Since the units were designed with 2 power supplies, you do the math. If you pump the unit for its maximum hashrate, you should expect maximum consumption. That is, if the unit is designed properly.

My understanding of the product is changing too, since I've ordered it. I did not think initially that the whole SP30 design is _that_ good. Now I like them even more!

PS: I'm tired to post again the power supply specifications. Please scroll up 2-3 pages.

I am sure that SP-Tech is flooded with e-mails right now. Please state your requests here or PM me and I will discuss the issue with SP-Tech for an easier organization. If I don't manage to get a "good" answer for you then you can negociate directly with them. I find it easier for me to send an e-mail with 4-5 questions than for them to receive 5 separate e-mails. Also I'm open to any suggestion that you might have.

I don't see you jumping to buy my miner off me when you say IM CRAZY to ask for a refund.

No, you're certainly not crazy and I'm pretty sure that they're legally obligated to give a full refund to anyone who requests one.

When did jimmothy passed the AM shill torch to you?

Arrange it please. I will buy back provided i get the full  customer compensation.

I will liaise the details with SP-Tech and will update my GB when I have all the definitive answers, but I'm pretty sure that if they will allow order transfers then you will get full compensation just like everyone else.

I don't give a rats A$$ about Jimmothy or AM.
I'm just sick and tired of being burned and in the end I LOSE OUT.
Yes, this has finally set me off and when I get burned Ill make it known QUICKLY.
This dabocle was my final straw after promises and guarantees were made for MONTHS.

You made me a guarantee before I paid in the group buy.
Bottom line, they came up short, and your promise was obviously worth a handful of magic
beans or you would have immediately offered to take the miner off my hands and back up
your promise.

You say I'm crazy to want a refund but you want nothing to do with the miner either.
I think I rest my case on that fact alone.

BitcoinPappi has offered to take the order and Im good with that.
Ill take the $$ back at from him if they will transfer him the order.

hardhouseinc. Has agreed to give me his spot in for early August deliver. I would like for you to confirm the following with SP Tech:

1.Can they allow an order to be transferred
2.Once the order is transferred will I get the same compensation that all the other group buy members will be rewarded
3.What are the complete compensation terms
3.Lets make this happen so hardhouseinc can be happy

I'm not sure you understand what I am saying. The maximum possible power draw of a power supply is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the SP30 has been advertised as requiring 2500W. Now it turns out it needs 3000W. It is the difference between being able run one, and not. People with access to 220V should be fine, but those limited to 120V won't be. And 220V was never stated to be a requirement; not in the product specs on the Spondoolies website.

If you are under the impression that Spondoolies customers should rely on bitcointalk.org, rather than http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/, you are mistaken.

When did jimmothy passed the AM shill torch to you?

How is telling someone they have the right to a full refund shilling for AM? Have I said anything about how much of a failure these chips are and how AM's 28nm chip is going to blow them out of the water and all kinds of other nonsense like you have been doing in the AM thread? Do I have a link to AM1 in my signature?

No, I haven't been doing any of that. I just corrected you on the lies you were telling and made a statement about consumer rights. If someone asks you for a full refund, you are legally obligated to give them one. It's as simple as that.

I'm pretty sure you can configure it to draw only 2500W, if you have that limitation on the electrical circuits, but it will be at the expense of the hashrate. No one here said you need 3000W to run it. Guy said earlier that the PSUs are 1200W output, 1500W at the wall if you're using 220V. I just read the PSU specifications and the UL certification which corresponds to your case in US .. and I'm translating you what you should understand from them.

The unit will run even on 110V and 10 amps if this is everything you have. But don't ask anyone to guarantee 4.5TH/s with that. You should read the specifications, not the advertisements. They're generic, and do not say under what conditions you get that consumption. The link I gave earlier was from the SP repository, and from the PSU manufacturer, not bitcointalk.org.

I was waiting for the Spondoolies SP30 announcement before ordering more S3s.

Each server cabinet I rent has 2 x 30A 208V outlets for a total of ~10KW, so I was hoping to be able to run 4 SP30s at 6TH/s in a single cabinet (24TH).

Considering the August / Sept batch of SP30s only runs at 4.5 TH/s and uses 3KW, I can only get 3 SP30s in a single server cabinet for ~13.5TH.

I can get 28 S3s into a single server cabinet for ~12.3TH (440 GH/s @ 350W each).

I see absolutely no reason to pre-order a SP30 over buying a S3, which is available now, even though the S3 has slightly worse power efficiency.

I hope many folks learned a hard lesson about the perils of pre-orders, and I wouldn't want to be Roadstress right now and have to deal with all the pissed off customers from his group buy. Have fun cleaning up this mess, Roadstress!

I still like Spondoolies tech, and think they make good products, but they did grossly overhype and inflate the SP30 specifications in order to sell more SP30 pre-orders. I may even purchase a October SP30 if they ship immediately and are competitive with other offerings on the market in October.

I not surprised at the difficulty Spondoolies is having with the SP30 and think we're reaching the limits of current semiconductor technology. I doubt we'll see miners go much below .5 W/GH within the next year.

Can you tell me how much it's costing to rent the full rack with 2 30A/208 circuits and what state it's located?

I'm not sure you understand what I am saying. The maximum possible power draw of a power supply is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the SP30 has been advertised as requiring 2500W. Now it turns out it needs 3000W. It is the difference between being able run one, and not. People with access to 220V should be fine, but those limited to 120V won't be. And 220V was never stated to be a requirement; not in the product specs on the Spondoolies website.

If you are under the impression that Spondoolies customers should rely on bitcointalk.org, rather than http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/ you are mistaken.
You should read the specifications, not the advertisements.
If you mean the technical specifications at http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/sp30-yukon-september-batch-1, I did.

The specifications originally were 5.4TH @ 2500W nominal. Now they are different. I'm not concerned with the decreased hashrate, as there will be compensation for that. What I *am* concerned with is the increased power consumption. 4.5TH/s @ 3000W is a lot different than 5.4TH/s @ 2500W to those with 120V/15A circuits.

If the SP30 can be underclocked to use 2500W as originally specified, allowing the use of two 15A/120V circuits as originally specified, the hashrate will be 3.5-4TH/s. Will Spondoolies compensate for that?

Dude, nobody should run datacenter grade miners on 120V circuits.

Most countries in the world don´t have such an exotic voltage anyway so please, stop whining about it.

Use some proper wiring and have your electrician run 220V/240V circuits for your miners.

These miners aren´t originally designed for home use so please, act with common sense.

I am also quite sure you don´t want to have 3kW of heat in your home during the summer.

The increased power consumption can also cause issues for people running in a data center for the reason I explained in my last post.

Suppose I rent a server cabinet with has 2 30A 208V circuits for a total of 10kW, and I was planning on running 4 SP30s in that cabinet since each one was only supposed to use 2.5kW. The increased power consumption just cost me more money because now I can only run 3 SP30s in that cabinet instead of 4.

That extra 500W of power usage per SP30 is also going to cost folks running in data centers.

I don't see you jumping to buy my miner off me when you say IM CRAZY to ask for a refund.

No, you're certainly not crazy and I'm pretty sure that they're legally obligated to give a full refund to anyone who requests one.

When did jimmothy passed the AM shill torch to you?

How is telling someone they have the right to a full refund shilling for AM? Have I said anything about how much of a failure these chips are and how AM's 28nm chip is going to blow them out of the water and all kinds of other nonsense like you have been doing in the AM thread? Do I have a link to AM1 in my signature?

No, I haven't been doing any of that. I just corrected you on the lies you were telling and made a statement about consumer rights. If someone asks you for a full refund, you are legally obligated to give them one. It's as simple as that.

Well you just proved my point by advertising AM gen4 chips Smiley

Please correct me more on my lies just like jimmothy does.

.....
I can get 28 S3s into a single server cabinet for ~12.3TH (440 GH/s @ 350W each).
.....
Have fun cleaning up this mess, Roadstress!

Please post a picture with the 28 S3s into a single server cabinet on the dedicated thread with pictures of mining rigs.

Thank you. Will try to have fun while doing it.

I can fit 48 S3s into a cabinet easy, just go 2 deep and cut the green wire. It does take a bit of power though to run that dense.

No, that was an example of what you have been doing. Regardless of you being a liar and a shill, you are the one who took money in exchange for a product that is significantly different than advertised and you are the one who is legally obligated to deal with any requested refunds. So, if someone asks you for a full refund, will you provide it as legally required? Look at Ken Slaughter, is that your future? Will you do a runner like Labcoin? Shall we start calling you BFLRoadStress now?

Good luck trying to sell anything else in the future.

You are going nowhere with this and you know it. Pushing things like this is simply useless and actually is showing your true character.

I took no money for the products, only reservation fees so I'm not legally obligated to deal with any refund request.

As for scammer Ken Slaughter I smelled him right from the start. Same as Labcoin. Your comparision to those 2 failed ventures only makes me laugh and shows how desperate are you for some bad examples. Feel free to call me as you wish, but it won't bring you faster dividends Smiley
