okay so it was not over clocking issue.


power off the gear.

inspect all 4 cables look to see if they have any signs of melting. if they are modular cables look on both the psu end and the sp20 end

if they all look good.

 keep the lower settings then rotate the 4 cables

Have you tried swapping the power cables and seeing if the disabled board depends what socket the cable is plugged into?

NOTE I HAVE PSU TO SPARE. So my argument is for me no one else unless you have psu's to spare

cloud mining is just wicked hard to make money doing.

I read the contract  a few times and I do not like this line :

b. USD 0.0015 per GH/s and day, deducted on a daily basis* from the generated Coins


1000gh = 1.50 usd a day  or 45 usd a month

if I downclock 1 sp20 to 1000gh I will spend 470 watts on my kwatt meter x 24 = 11.128 kwatts a day make it 12 kwatts a day or

360 kwatts a month 12 cents  a kwatt = 43.2 usd a month.


 I have the sp20 in hand  I got one on ebay for 392 after discounts

There is a solid ebay seller asking 420 a unit or best offer.

so buying 1000 gh in the cloud from genisis cost more up front 446 or 469   vs  390-410

and more to run 45 usd vs 43.2usd at 12 cents a kwatt.

with one setup I have nothing  ie the cloud contract is basically nothing .  the other I have a miner.

the cloud 469 out of pocket then 45 usd a month    

the ebay buy 392 out of pocket then 36 a month my power is 10 cents until summer rates.

So genesis is just too much money for me. If it were June 1st and my power moves from 10 to 16 cents yeah I may do it. not now.

I need to do better then buying one on ebay ..

  which means under 392  and under 36 usd a month.  with some kind of buy back after 90 days.==== this would equal the ebay deal not beat it.

These are my circumstances  so I understand if you have :

 A) no space
B) power over 15 cents
C) want coins  + some type of mining

 but genesis Just does not fit for me and does  not fit until June (maybe).

One minor quibble. I don't think the fact that that you have a spare PSU really changes the thinking a whole lot. I didn't realize until this year that a solid, reliable, PSU is an actual investment that can last. You yourself have time and again re-used a PSU for a new generation of mining hardware. While it clearly costs money to purchase a solid PSU, it will probably retain it's value way beyond the ASIC hardware that it powers for a long time to come. Even if you spend say $130 for the PSU, in one year you will still have a PSU of significant value, either for further use, or sale.

Sorry Sometimes the net does not lend itself to a clear meaning in a short post.

A person without a psu needs to add that cost one time. For tax purposes or accounting purposes if they report taxes on BTC in the USA tax law.

A person with a psu  that has been used for mining has already done that.  
So in usa tax law.  

my cost basis for a new sp20 is 392 as purchased on ebay.
my cost basis for 1000th from genesis is 469.

I would not use an evga 1300 g2 in my cost basis since I did it one time  a while back.

If I buy a new one I am allowed to  to expense it since it is under 5000 usd.  So I could use it one time for say 180 usd.

So if I were new my cost basis for the sp20 is 180 + 392 = 572
my cost basis for 1000th from genesis is 469.

So many countries with so many tax rules and accounting methods make a short post hard to put in perfectly clear info for all to read.

In my first example I left that cost out since I have the psu's I do not figure in the psu cost any more. For me it is $0.
If I buy a new one for more gear I get to use the cost 1 time for tax purposes according to usa tax law.

Thanks for the tip.  This is tricky, and may not work for all situations.  I don't have any Spondoolie hardware offsite just yet, so I can't test this.  But I have S4s offsite, and I reach them through a forwarded HTTP port that is only accessible from one IP.  I'm going to enable HTTPS by default but have a checkbox to disable it if your particular hosting situation doesn't allow it.

We're brining small amount of hash power online in our Israeli DC. Upon selling of contracts, we'll ship mining gear to cover the contracts to Genesis Mining DC in Iceland.

Yes Marco is good people they do have a lot of experience and mining power already on the network. They are very professional unlike other offering in the "cloud".

Genesis Mining is the most trustable cloud mining provider and I'm proud about this partnership. I know Genesis Mining management personally and I consider them friends.

Isn't cloud hosting created for the company that hosts the mining rigs to make money? If that's the case, how does the user who bought into the contract make any money. I highly doubt you would put up cloud hosting knowing you would be losing money. It is just like the slot machines in a Casino. People may think they are winning money, but the house always wins, always.

Not to knock genesis , but they are not price competitive to lee's buy + hosting of s-5's

 lee is giving 1150 gh for 340
genesis is giving 1000 gh for 469 or 446

lee charges 43.60 usd a month
genesis charges 45.00 a month

lee will allow you a choice of pools
