An unknown unmanned aerial vehicle attacked an airfield in the Saratov region of Russia. This is reported by the Baza Telegram channel.

It is noted that on the morning of December 5, the UAV fell on the runway of the local airfield. The drone damaged two planes, two people were injured, they were taken to the hospital.

The two damaged airplanes seem to be Tu-95, Russia's strategic nuclear-capable bombers, also used to launch cruise missiles at Ukrainian power plants.

What's interesting about this episode (other than the 500+ km distance from Ukraine, which is about as far as e.g. Moscow) is that a few days ago some high resolution pictures were published showing a bunch of aircraft parked at that airport... "juicy target" I thought, "sadly too far for any Ukrainians weapons".

I too believe Putin is the main culprit to blame here. But it's not all about Russia grabbing Ukrainian land. Both Macron and Scholz has recently talked about considering Russian interest.
There's no way Russia or Ukraine would win this war. Both of them including Europe would be the loser and the only who wins is the US. This was an avoidable war.
Soon the Europe would turn it's back on Ukraine and there would be a negotiation and ultimate peace. But this war would put Europe decades behind US and Asia.

Does Christmas exist in BADeckerland? If so, happy Xtmas. Now, picturing Putin and the Russian Federation as a innocent victim of the doings of the US is unrealistic. The RF had joined in general terms the global commerce and was doing reasonably well - as much as one of the most corrupt governments in the world would allow. The need to illegally take Crimea and the attempts to puppet-govern Ukraine are not something neutral and are well away from being a victim of anything.

Shortly, they planned thatactive phase of operation will took 10 days and final phase of it will be in August. But something went wrong for them and they were too confident about their plan.

Yeah, you have good point and from what I understand, it can be exactly same model drone as that one which attacked air base in Russia. There is news whic kinda related with it. Germany refused to give  MIM-104 Patriot systems to Ukraine, which previously were promised to be sent to Poland. Such systems not just would protect Western Ukraine but also would give extra protection for neighbour countries like Poland, Hungary or Moldova.

It seems that air attacks in general are at the moment exceeding the defensive capacity in general. Anti-air is expensive and cannot cover all territory, but just vital points and perhaps cities. Meanwhile, cheap IKEA drones can be cheaply be sent by the hundreds, so even if 80% are lost it does not matter.

Having said that, these attacks are a weapon of destruction, but not really a weapon of conquer. It seems that the RF is trying to force a diplomatic hand rather than real military gains.

A good example of this was the fact that when KGB turned into FSB, people weren't fired. They stayed in their seats because it costs a lot of money to train a spy as well as a killer.
They can play around with names and flags but Russian Federation is still the good old Soviet Union. The name could no longer be used not because they weren't soviet anymore, but because there was no more union.

Sure Putin was the problem created by the WEF's direction to do so. Meanwhile Zelensky gets funding from the US, EU, and other western nations to 'fight' them.
