Your points are valid but they are not totally in order. Africa still has key players in top clubs in Europe an example is the Nigerian striker Samuel Chukwueze who is red hot in Villarreal CF. He is a target of most top clubs in Europe. Players like Kalidou Koulibaly, Achraf Hakimi, and Riyad Mahrez are playing in top clubs in Europe. But I will agree that we don't have a player that can compete for the work best football except for Victor Osimhem. I also concur that the number of African players in lowly placed teams outnumbers the quantity playing in top clubs. But we have seen many European players of African descent playing top-class football, can they also be called African?

If they don't identify as African, you can't call them African. If they don't own it to be black and play for their motherland then they don't deserve any association with us. I was looking at the names you called and although they aren't playing badly in their respective clubs but they're second best. When you''re calling players in those clubs, their name don't come out first. You have to call some European player before you can call theirs and some aren't even in top 5 best players at their respective clubs. I might give an excuse for Samuel Chukwueze but how impactive has he been this season, he has scored just 6 goals in 27 appearance and 5 assits which is 11 goals contributions.

Koulibaly is a complete flop with his move to Chelsea so he shouldn't even be mentioned in the first place. Mahrez and Hakim are also brilliant players but can't be compared to the influence the African goats like Drogba had at his club, Samuel Eto'o too at his club and the list can go on and on. Our African players today don't get the media attention like we did back in the old and that's not just because of racism but because we aren't playing well. When Victor Osimhen started getting those attention was because he was playing brilliantly and can be compared alongside the world beats in the business.

speaking of african players playing in europe, lately i have noticed that many big teams in europe no longer have many african players that score goals like in the past, let's see chelsea for example it was a team that had many african players, but today when if you look at chelsea you don't see many african players in the starting line-up, when you look at manchester united, arsenal, city and liverpool or tottenham you don't see many african players in the starting line-up, in liverpool there was sadio mane, that since he left liverpool to go to bayern he hasn't been able to score regularly, to be even more fair the mane in bayern doesn't matter much, whether he's playing or not playing doesn't change anything at bayern, it was a big mane's mistake leaving liverpool for bayern

the only player I see being very important is Victor Osimhen who is being a very popular player these days, but apart from him I don't see other African players in the big teams like PSG, City, Juventus, Benfica, Porto, Inter, Milan, Bayern , Real madrid, Barcelona, liverpool ( only Salah stands out ), tottenham, manchester united, chelsea... it looks like African players are now only in small teams and small leagues, in the days of samuel eto , drogba, we had a lot of Africans playing in the big teams and they were always starting players. currently each season African players have less space in the big teams
I feel it is a matter of the positions because we have African players performing so well in many other positions like in midfield, Left wing and right wing forwards and in defense. Centre forward position is a position that has few outstanding players even European outstanding strikers are few. Mane is so unfortunate to be facing a tough phase in his career which I believe will pass and he will pick up again from.

Africa’s players making good progress now and making good matches now. They  are ready to play till the win like a Black panther, I had good respect on the African players. Because they are good at the spirit matches as competitors to the Argentina team players also. Samuel Chukwueze had scored a lot in the game with 6 goals with 27 matches which is good for the team and for the individual performance in the league. The best way of contributing with 11 goal assistance was the remarkable one from the Samuel Chukwueze. Because some players will score more and the goal connections will be less. Most of the football players are self goal scorer, because they like to defend their game. They will work for their own identity as compared to the team game. But Samuel game was quite opposite to this concept. And he purely playing for the team win.

Yesterday Nigeria U-20 beat their Argentine counterpart 2 goals to nil in the FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament . I think this news worthy considering how their senior colleagues have performed. It was such an interesting game to watch and the young lads on both sides played brilliantly well. The first and second goals came from Ibrahim Muhammad and Rilwanu Sarki. Rilwanu Sarki, head was magnificent. The result of this win means that while the Argentine side has been eliminated from the competition, the Nigerian team advances to the quarter-final round of the competition where they will face Korea Republic or Ecuador. It was competitions like this that produced the like of Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Ihenacho and the rest of them. I say we should watch out for these boys.

These young Nigerians showed great commitment and patriotism. The Argentinian side had all the advantages to seamlessly win the game. They had the support of the fan because the stadium was filled with their fans and they were in total control of the game. Their attack was the best but the only edge the Nigerian team had was strength.

The Nigerian players were physically stronger than the Argentine team. The first and the second goal was a result of the physical power of the Nigerian players. They were able to dispossess their opponents in vital areas and utilized the opportunities. Nigeria has never lifted the under 20 Fifa would cup competition haven featured thirteen times and has been runner-up twice. Maybe this edition might be the lucky one. We will definitely see some of these boys in some top and average clubs in Europe after the competition. Hopefully, the epileptic Super Eagles could identify and attract some players from this squad.

Our U-20s always perform well and do much better than our senior team in international competitions. The problem is that these young players do not develop and advance to the senior team, most of these talents tend not to continue to the next level and so when we are supposed to groom these players to understand themselves, play together and advance into the senior team together rather we start picking and begging players individually to represent us in competitions.

What we can celebrate from the National team this period is the individual success that the players have achieved in their various clubs. Players like Victor Osimhen has done both himself and country proud with the record he has set this season in the Seria A and winning the striker of the season award. Other players like Kelechi Iheanacho , Alex Iwobi also were named players of the season in their respective clubs Leicester and Everton. Even the likes of Samuel Chukwueze in Villarreal, he had a good season. As a team the National team is not impressing, but individual records, the players are doing well.

It is still a competition like this that discovered Messi and Mikel during such tournament. Am glad under 20 team won the game because a few minutes to when the match started I got up and left. I have grown so much weary from viewing our national matches due to the external political sentiments that make them play terribly on some occasions.
It is good they won and the next opponent which am hoping would be Korea should be an easy winner for them. Argentina was one hard nut to crack and am proud the boys did win.

The flying eagles will take on South-Korea in the Quater finals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup1 at 6:30pm WAT. South Korea is a tough side and no one should think that because the Nigerian boys beat Argentina, they will be able to do so with their opponent today easily. And if the boys think so, they will pay dearly for it. I mean they should definitely go there with the same intensity they used against the Argentine team. They need to play like a team. It will be bad if they are looking to be personal heroes. From the first half until the final whistle, they need to fight all the way. What is your prediction for this match?

They defended well and the flying eagles could not score.

Maybe this may have been as a result of being over confident after beating Argentina.

South Korea progress more in the competition and will play against Italy next.

At the start of the match, I thought that Super Eagles would win their match against South Korea due to they won the host country Argentina. But as the match progresses, I get to find out that Super lack finishing. They might lose the match if care is not taken. That was what was running through my mind during the extra time of the match.

It is very horrible that Super Eagle dominated the whole 120 minutes but couldn't utilize it to score a single goal after having several corner kicks against South Korea. Just a few corner kick from South Korea made its way to Super Eagle's goal net.

What killed the Super Eagles is the wrong substitution in the second half. The coach made wrong by substitution by substituting Victor Eletu for Ibrahim Abdullahi. The moment the coach begins to change to make changes, that give South Korea the upper hand in making threats in the Super Eagle goalpost

one thing that many people have made a mistake when talking about the evolution of soccer in africa is that they think that because there are some players with fame in europe then it means that soccer in africa is evolved when this is not true, years and years have passed and the evolution in soccer in africa is stagnant, for example it is in the internal competitions in africa, the leagues are weak and with few teams and also with less attraction, and just look at this forum as a concrete example, let's go there in this thread if I ask :

how many teams are there in the nigeria league, in the mozambique league, in the south africa league, in the cameroun league, in the ghana league, in the ivory coast league and what are the names of these teams in these leagues?

how many people in this thread sit down to watch full games from these leagues?

how many people are betting on these leagues? Has anyone here already bet on a team from my country? my country's league doesn't even appear in bookmakers

So I ask: where is soccer in Africa evolving?

with so much corruption in soccer in africa, evolution is impossible, in soccer fields in africa only a few big teams can see the fields with many people watching, and the reason is simple: few people have the financial power to buy tickets and go watching the games, it is a sad scenario, corrupt managers do not watch the games, probably they should not even be a fan of any team, in Africa there are still problems of a country not being able to pay the player's salary when he represents the national team, things that they just embarrass africa

Well this is no lie as it is not only in the football sector, but the corruption has eaten so deeply that the improvement of these leagues just seem to be a dream that might never be accomplished.

But as a football fan and also a preacher of positive thought I don't believe the improvement of African football is an impossible feat to achieve, it just all depends on the mindset of those in place to set things In order.

At the start of the match, I thought that Super Eagles would win their match against South Korea due to they won the host country Argentina. But as the match progresses, I get to find out that Super lack finishing. They might lose the match if care is not taken. That was what was running through my mind during the extra time of the match.
This is always the consequence of wasting opportunities in a game. The flying eagles were the better side but they failed to utilize the chances they had. If the team had gotten a goal in that game the result would have at least been a penalty shootout. But I also want to commend the South Korean team for their strength and hard work. The Flying Eagle is a very physical team but the Koreans were able to withstand the pressure and played for almost 120 minutes. Congratulation to the young Koreans and the semi-finals game is against the Italians.

But the current star of the tournament is the Israeli team. This was their first ever Under 20 world cup and they are already making history. They qualified for the semifinals after winning Brazil by 3-2 with a great goal by Turgeman. This was a team that was rejected by the former host Indonesia and now they are the surprise of the tournament. Thier next game is against Uruguay on Thursday, June 8th.

The end of the road for the flying eagles, they lost the game. South korea were able to manage all the threats and attempts from the flying eagles in the game, they scored one goal in the first half of the extra time and that was all they needed. They defended well and the flying eagles could not score.

Maybe this may have been as a result of being over confident after beating Argentina.

South Korea progress more in the competition and will play against Italy next.
Sadly, FIFA U-20 World Cup dream for the Nigerian team has been crushed by the South-Korean in the FIFA U-20 who has advanced to the semifinals. Of note is that the set-pieces played a crucial role in scoring goals.  In the final moments of extra time, the South-Korean side scored the winning goal which was a corner kick from Lee Seung-won's. I say a big congratulations the South Korea team, they came with a plan stuck with it executed. I have adopted them to support to win the tournament.

So I ask: where is soccer in Africa evolving?
Football in Africa and it's leagues will evolve only when corruption is reduced and Sport gets more attention in terms of allocations. Corruption has eaten deep into all sectors including the sports sector, the sporting sector has also received reduced attention. In some cases where a new government decides to pay attention to the sport sector and then disburse money for its improvement, these funds are embezzled, and nothing is done, and because it is a corrupt system,  no one is held accountable.

Also, if an African team can win a world cup, it can increase the status of African football worldwide. Jose Mourinho is one manager that has been pushing for FIFA to make a rule to prevent African players from representing other countries. That can actually help.

Quote
“I want the world to see that Africa is equal to everybody. Africa is not behind when it comes to talent. They have the talent to win any tournament but their best players are scattered around the world playing for other countries instead of their homelands.” - Jose Mourinho

Their two Fifa World Cup titles in 1998 and 2018 were dominated by African players. The likes of Zinedene Zidane (originally from Algeria), Patrick Vieira (Senegal), Claude Makelele (DR Congo) and Marcel Desailly (Ghana) are just a few of France’s heroes of 1998.

In 2018 they were at it again when Paul Pogba (Guinea), N’golo Kante (Mali), Kylian Mbappe (Cameroon) and others were instrumental in winning their second World Cup.

When I found out that Israel defeated great Brazil by a score of 3-2, I was surprised when I learned the outcome of the match, I wasn't sure how to process it. Nevertheless, I didn't watch the game. But the final score will stun everyone who hears it(Israel defeated Brazil).

Anyway, there are many surprises in football. Brazil, Argentina, France, and Italy were undefeated nations back then, as I recall. It will be challenging for a nation to easily win any of the nations I mentioned. But football has evolved over the years. If a team or nation prepares properly, they have a chance to win any given match. Congrats to Israel, they should play their best against Uruguay to make sure they win and qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup U20 match

African games are unattractive to watch that's one of the reasons we don't have fans watching them, I haven't watched an African game and felt joyous like when I watch the samba boys play football. African and Nigeria football was once like that as we watch Jay Jay okocha play and dribble all round the field. This style influence others players to entertain the fan and still win the match but today all we see is england style of play that's very boring (as we can't play it perfectly as they do). Watch an African game and all you'll see is the ball been shoot from the post to the middle field and the this continued to happen. You can't see the players complete a cycle of passes. All you see is shooting, defending and running.

Only the south African league gives a similar vibe to the samba way of playing that entertains the fans which is why you see people going to watch the games. Corruption is not only an African thing so we have to stop giving excuses. If our football was entraining, the government won't have any excuses to help out the sport. Let me take the entertainment industry as an example, you can see ours are better than some other part of the world and that's because those in charge are delivering when it comes to quality production so they draw in fans and more revenue gets generated which is then use to make the sector up to standards.
