I like your comment. In my estimation I don't know if it is patriotism that is making them think that SA's situation is a win for Nigeria or just some crazy optimism. They already know that SA will still top the league and Nigeria's hope of making it to the World Cup is not feasible again. I think we should move on and support another closer country. If our boys played well, 3 points proposed deduction or not, will mean nothing to us whatsoever.

It’s not necessarily a win for Nigeria but you know how Nigerians are. We want to hold on to to any hope of qualifying for the World Cup no matter how small or irrational that hope is. If Nigeria don’t qualify for the World Cup, I doubt Nigerians will support another African country to win the tournament instead they will support countries where their favorite players are from.

Funny, SA and Nigerians don't get along mostly when it comes to competitions. If SA qualifies good for them, Nigerians won't wish them bad, but if for the support they won't receive from Nigerians. No grudge with their qualification, but by then everyone will be busy with their day, it wouldn't matter anymore and no one will want to watch them play in the tournament, it will be a shame if with the level of squad we don't make it there, SA that has few pro players are going to represent Africa in the World Cup.

Personally speaking I see South Africa making it to the world cup whether they are deducted three points or  they still lead the group south Africa has shown that they are more prepared and ready to go into the world cup than Nigeria because with the games that Nigeria has played so far in the world cup qualifiers everyone has seen that the players are not committed to their country because with the current world class stars that are playing in different European clubs can't even a win convincingly against teams in a group that most of the countries playing in the group there players are playing in their domestic league is something of concern

We could write a book about why South Africa and Nigerians don’t get along. Tbh I didn’t really know that there was any kind of friction between the two countries until I saw the multiple Xenophobia attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa. It was a eye opener for me and I believe to many Nigerians as well. So don’t be surprised that Nigerians are not so enthusiastic about SA in football.

I haven't given up hope yet as it isn't over untill it's. I believe that the boys have what it takes for then to qualify for the world cup but my worries is what are they going to achieve over there if it's taking them this much challenge just to qualify.

We haven't lost our spike that we use to have and I don't get it how the whole squad is waiting on just one man to rescue them with goals but immediately he gets taken off, the squad couldn't hold onto their lead, it's just shameful and frustrating.

It is disappointing how they’re struggling now in the qualifiers and still want to get the best game out there in the World Cup. It is also disappointing how they all depend on one man to do the job for them, no wonder he got angry at the draw in their last match against Zimbabwe, which was suppose to be a swift win for them and would also boos their morale and confidence in the remaining matches left to be played in the qualifying stage.

Nothing comes easy but the hope we had in them may fade away when they lose another match again. We know that their chances of qualifying are not as much as it was before, but as long as the qualifying stage matches is no over and some possibilities are still achievable, we won’t give up and continue to support them until the end. They should improve their gameplay and a positive mindset for the outcome of all of their games henceforth.

I thought I was the only one who still remembers this stress that Nigeria national team in male category puts it's citizens, Nigerians will start solving mathematics on top of the team. Team A needs to play draw with team Z so that team C will win team S with nothing less than 3 goals and team B will not score more than a goal against team F, then Super Eagles needs to win team K in other to qualify. permutation and combination just for the team to qualify, lol. It's just funny and annoying at the same time.

This has not happened yet, some news sources are publishing news like this, but it is not true, there is no official confirmation on this from FIFA, neither has anything reflected on the group standings. I know a lot of us Nigerians really want this decision to go our way, and truly it will throw the group wide open again if it does, but we have to wait for something official and not spread false narratives.

It is always like this with the Super Eagles. They joke with the first few matches that could have earned them a top spot already and then struggle at the end just to qualify.
I doubt this current Super Eagles got what it takes to make the Bafana Bafana team shake in their boots, so I would still keep my fingers crossed while hoping that any point deducted or awarded will play to the Super Eagles favor, because I really can't wait to see them play in the world cup tournament which is of course the biggest football competition in the world.

Just imagine taking the hard road to qualifying for a competition, but failing to make it out of the group stage, that will even be more frustrating. With the performance that the boys has given so far, we can't even ascertain or picture what to see when they qualify for the world cup. I still strongly believe that the squad is lacking so many qualities in different areas. Some of them are giving their best, while  the best of others can't even be seen because it is not enough.

We all know of a certain player that plays like a professional in the premier league, but doesn't turn up much on international duties. There are other players too so I can't single him out. These are little problems that the manager and his assistants needs to figure before the resumption of qualification matches, or else, they might make a mess of themselves. Just imagine having a team of stars but failing to ....

That's serious, I thought they will not deduct the point from them since I heard that the South Africa was trying to resolve it with the Lesotho team, though somebody here suspected this to happen to South African and it has finally happen to them, however this means that Lesotho will now have point more than super eagles because they had 6 points before then and now that it has been awarded to them they will now have 9 while the super eagles will be 7 point, this means the eagles are back to fift position they started this year.

The Super Eagles are not doing us any good, i re-examined the table and only South Africa should have been able to face us when we play against everyone in the group, shockingly we have drawn 4 games even to countries that are not worth our standard. With how badly we performed, i am beginning to get delusional if we can truly make it to the World Cup.

These are strange statements to make as a Nigerian, as long as it is still mathematically possible for the Super Eagles to qualify, you do not lose anything by supporting them, whenever it becomes mathematically impossible for them to qualify, then we can move on. If not for the love we have for our country and our national team, we all would have throw in the towel and accept the reality that we might not make it to the World Cup. The 3-point deduction is not a good one on the South African team. It will seriously throw Group C wide open again, giving teams that are below the first spot that South Africa occupies to think of performing better than they have performed in their previous matches, maybe to appear at the top of the Group C table.

FIFA made the right decision, FIFA rules are laid down and this is the punishment to get for such kind of offense. Lucky enough South Africa are not going to feel the impact of the point deduction that much, they are still topping the group and are still very much likely to qualify than Lesotho. I believe this is a wake up call to south Africa and other African nations to always check at their records before featuring any player, as south Africa made this mistake without proper checking of their record book, because you cannot tell me that they consciously knew about the two yellow card that player has gotten and yet they went ahead in featuring him.

You thought wrong my friend. This is football and once the rules are broking there must be penalty not minding who or what country committed the offense. South Africa has no right to settle a world cup offense with their opposition team Lesotho. FIFA must surely make the right decision in this case and their decision must stand. After all, South Africa is topping the table, if though they lose their next game after losing this one due to the penalty they surely will qualify for the world cup.

I have hope, and I have faith, but I am trying not to get my expectations high again, as disappointment often follows, as is usual with the Super Eagles, you know.

We are going against a very organised team, and unless we can somehow become better organised in Attack, midfield and defense, nothing for us.

FIFA made the right decision. South Africa are in the wrong here, even though the other teams were silent I’m sure that a lot of eyes were watching to see how FIFA would handle the situation. Best believe that it would have caused a uproar if South Africa were not punished. Regardless of our situation, I still have hope that the Super Eagles will make it to the World Cup.
