The way the equalizing goal came was too casual. I wonder if those guys are really professional footballers. How can they not pay attention till the end of the game. If the goal scored by Zimbabwe was a classic goal that would have been a different case, but it was so simple while all the defenders relaxed because the time stoppage time was almost over.

Nigeria would have lost that match because of our poor defense. One of the Zimbabwean shots hit the crossbar, and I was surprised that the Super Eagles were just relaxed after scoring just one goal. Troost Ekong would have done better while marking that striker but he was just rusty and slow. Wilfred Ndidi had the chance to give Osimhen an assist, but he decided to go for goal, shooting blank. I can go on and on about the mistakes the Nigerian team made, but I have just decided to forget about the match because recalling it gives me so much pain. Coach Eric Chelle has not shown the tactical prowess that qualified him to get this prestigious job. I expected him to tell the players to play defensively immediately after the match got to the last five minutes.

To be frankly speaking, Victor Osimhen has all the right to be angry with the rest Super Eagle's players, of which if I was to be in his shoes, I would have done the exact same thing, because I will blame both coach Eric Chelle for removing Victor Osimhen at 87 minutes into the end of the game, of which we all saw how Zimbabwe was able to score an equalizing goal just 3 minutes immediately he was removed, implying maybe I'd hw had been on the pitch till the end, Nigeria would probably have won. And  it's quite unfair, considering how dedicated he was to seeing Nigeria qualify for next year's world cup. However, it's just too sad, Nigeria wouldn't be participating in next year's world cup.

What is Nigerian chances of qualifying for the World Cup, we started very well in the first half, i expected the Super Eagles to win the game swiftly, the first half gave us the opportunity of scoring our winning goals, the players ate all the chances, it was a very weak performance from the team, we can't play in the world Cup with such performance if we luckily beat the odds of making it to the World Cup.

Osimhen anger is something to be okay with, he has helped us in both games we played, not undermining the performance of others but Osimhen has influenced the game were the meanest chances is what he creates into goals, the header from him during the last game was a perfect score, you don't see just any striker makes such header in a game, Osimhen rescued Nigeria but as the substitution happened it weakened the whole game play causing the match to end with a tie score, a shameful loss to Nigeria.

The entire country is disappointed, not just Osimhen, one thing i found funny is how the other players in the Super Eagles were trying to calm him down, lol, i mean, you all should be angry and disappointed, why are you trying so hard to calm your fellow player down. Our manager was also classless for rejecting a handshake from the opposition manager after the game, we as Nigerians are full of class and fairplay, we don't act like that and i hope the manager does not repeat that act again.

So many complains and pointing accusing fingers after the game. We know we have been here before and we all know how it will end. First, we are off the points that will be deducted from SA will not save us. Second, for me I am predicting that the NFF will already be concluding plans to sack the new coach, that one isn't hard for them. Just when I was happy that at least we're heading somewhere,  that last minute equalizer broke my heart honestly.

I was carried away by the energy that came with the new head coach Erick Chelle, and their performance against Rwanda, thinking they would win Zimbabwe but once again they disappointed me. They defended poorly in the match,failed to hold on to their lead, and in dying moments allowed Zimbabwe to equalize. This result puts the Super Eagles at serious risk of missing out on the 2026 World Cup.

I see they celebrated victory too soon because even after Osimhen's goal, they relaxed in a very bad way thinking that Zimbabwe has no way back in the game. It didn't occur to them that even though Zimbabwe doesn't have any future in the competition even if they won, but they can have another record for being the team that stopped Nigeria from qualifying for the world cup for the 4th time which they accomplished successfully.

What a shame!!!.

If peradventure Nigeria don't make it to the world cup, we can't say that Zimbabwe was the team that denied Nigeria the privilege of appearing in the next world cup because this was their sixth game, what were they doing in their previous games that they didn't win those games and put themselves in a better position in the group table. The Super eagles lack the alertness to know what it will mean to Nigeria if they don't qualify for the world cup for the second time in a row because if they do they could have made efforts so that they don't find themselves in the situation they are facing now. However, instead of going to the world cup with the low mentality of the players and disgrace the country, they had better not qualify and feel the pain of watching other co players in their respective leagues, featuring in the world cup because it is really a great honor appearing and playing in the world cup but sadly, the Super Eagles don't know the influence it creates to play in the world cup games.

It'd really painful to work so hard for the team only to lose what you have fought hard for. I don't blame him for his reaction, after all some great players have reacted that way when they are disappointed with the team's performance. The coach will know how to handle it.

I am also blaming the midfielders because the build-up for that painful equalizer started from that position. And I saw some of them strolling instead of being aggressive. If not for that, he was very tired. Osimhen would have remained on the pitch because his presence would have scared the Zimbabwean players from coming all out to attack. I was not happy when I heard the visitors coach claiming that they would have beaten the Super Eagles if they had an additional three minutes in that match, that's insulting.

In the whole Africa, we can boast of having the best players in all positions performing very well in club level, what we expected was for them to display in same way like they do for their clubs, but the reverse happened. Not just Osimhen as you said, the entire country is sad with the result, we never dreamt on such an outcome, the annoying miss of the day was that of Wilfred, he shot the ball without target, i was very disappointed with the way he played, we supported the players very well, the stadium they played was very full with people chanting and displaying, even when they told the fans to chant more they did, it wasn't as difficult for them to win against a country that isn't qualified to hold our shoes.

Chelle should know how intense it will be handling Nigerians, we are not just a normal country fan, we don't paint color on another, he needs to be more accurate with the way he manages the club, this shouldn't be players problem because, most our players are the best and can relate to what qualifying for the World Cup means.

I saw the video too when he was walking out angrily and his other player were trying to console him but he was still angry, I believe he has every right to be angry. How that equaliser goal came in was like a shocker, the fans really didn't expect that to be at the back of the net. It was supposed to be preventable error that occurred in the 90th minute. Nigeria was supposed to defend that 1 - 0 lead but the failed woeful and his anger is justifiable from my own perspective.

Most people got disappointed in super eagles in their match against Zimbabwe, they played very well against Rwanda, and we expected them to perform better against Zimbabwe, but their performance wasn’t go good in the match, and they couldn’t get a win in the match, it ended as a draw. The super eagles are still having lots to do if they want to qualify for the World Cup, if they had won their match against Zimbabwe, then people will have been confident in them, but their chances is just kind of low right now.

The super eagles are not even suppose to find the group stage which they are difficult because of the players which they are having, the super eagles are having one of the best players in African, so it’s just surprising to see them struggling, I just hope the coach will try and improve the super eagles performance.

If I'm in his position, I will be mad at the whole of the defenders for conceding goal in the 90 minutes that was juts 3 minute extra time. Osimhen have done all the work, all they need was to protect the home until the last minute and the painful part is they didn't conceded the goal in the early match, it was when the match is almost over they did that and we lost the only thing that could take us to World cup, it will be painful if you are good and you don't have what other super stars are dying to have.

In the last post I wrote in this topic, I mentioned precisely what Nigeria requires to join the other teams in the World Cup 2026 and frankly their odds aren't good at all.
Mathematically there is a chance, that's true but at what cost.. Could Nigeria win the four remaining games? That's quite impossible. Can they pick the first spot in their group? Very hard, in that case they should finish in the top 4 of the second spot teams, again it is very hard. I estimate their chances to be less than 1%.
Best scenario, as you said they won't last much in the World Cup and they don't have any chance with such team and mentality. It is just sad.

I made that post that contains more details, otherwise to simplify things, Nigeria has 2 ways for qualification:
1st way: finish first in their group
2nd option: finish as second in their group PLUS be in the top 4 of the best second spot holders among the 9 groups PLUS win the play-offs against the other 3 teams

Very slim now, South Africa are already at the top of the group and have a better chance of qualification, but because they fielded an ineligible player who was supposed to be suspended against Lesotho, talking about Teboho Mokoena, they face a very huge chance of having some of their points deducted. Victor's anger is justifiable to me because I see how in every game he puts in so much effort just to make sure the team really stays ahead of their opponents in the game, and this particular game they did struggled to get the goal only to get an equaliser few minutes to the end of the game. I will not see this as totally unexpected because there are many of us who always know that Nigeria can disappoint at the moment when you expect them to perform, this is why we did not expect much from the game and we do not feel hurt about the results. There is a chance for the team still, but no big expectations. What I expected from the Super Eagles immediately after they got the victory and had few minutes left to the end of the game for them to control the game and made sure to defend the one goal that they had. They kept on playing like they wanted to score another goal which was something not really necessary because a one goal lead would have been enough and would have been as celebrated as a two goal lead.

That was Victor Boniface trying to cool him down, he was not vexed at him just wanted to be left alone as he was feeling some bit of rage. I will be raving mad too, but will that get us to the top? Fvck No!! I won't blame nobody as I believe they were playing to the instructions of the manager. I feel like he should have just parked the boss rather than make futher advances forward to get a security goal. I want to see others carry this country the way Victor does... I love players like him, we hate losing and that draw seems like a lose.
