For me 50BTC is enough for me to retire i might can buy a house an lot with 1BTC in the future.
With its value skyrocketing to $1000 in 2013 surely its value could rise to tens of dollars.

If we hit the value mark of still staying at $400 per coin in 20 years.

Thats only $20k in the bank.. you`d have to pick up a job friend lol.

200BTC seems good to me, it may have a value of a half a million in 20 years if the value of bitcoin rise higher than $1000.

I can buy everything with that money and to give to my siblings and friends to promote bitcoin to them.

Using the rule of 72 and an inflation of 3% (very conservative), the value of $400 will become $800 in 20 years. If the value of BTC stay at $2500/BTC in 20 years, the increase in value is only about 3 times- I think this growth is almost equal to stagnant.

As they said "hope for the best, expect the worst".. I might keep few bitcoin til retirement, but we should not rely our retirement on it, what if the price drops very low..better save fiat in insurances and savings as a retirement fund..

Doing so is not a good idea at all. You can not predict its price 20 years from now.It is very volatile in nature
It is safe to keep less bitcoin say 2-3 BTC.

So you expect Bitcoin could be worth hundred thousands of dollars in the far future when you say 1BTC might buy you a house.
I say that everything is possible. It might be worth a lot or also could have disappeared and been replaced by something else.
50 BTC is a nice stash. If you already own that much just store it safe and watch the years go by.

It is safe to keep less uᴉoɔʇᴉq say 2-3 BTC.

If I was to retire, and have BTC fund in my retirement, I would have at least 20 BTC. I take the price of a uᴉoɔʇᴉq into consideration too, just in case it decides to not reach as high as before.

20 bitcoin is a nice retirement fund to get and it will be a high price by then maybe around 1-2k per bitcoin.

You would need a lot of bitcoins to do this, I think a part is also not to predict these days because the fact is that from now on the bitcoin itself is not to predict.
It would take some time till we can and than its a sort of possible to calculate the bitcoins you will need to retire in 20 years.
Right now no one can give you numbers from that if I'm honest.

You will need a lot of Bitcoin, because you never know what the value will be and that is the problem, it is impossible to predict the value of Bitcoin.
But I think that you need some around 100 Bitcoin later in the future if you want to retire 20 years.

i dont think that price will be around 1~2K, it's just very rare case
i think it's usually 400~700, so 100 coins is more than enough for some cozy and small house

we have to think when the price of bitcoin in 20 years remained at about $500. therefore we need more than 1k bitcoin.
so when the price really is low, you do not worry because you are preparing for bitcoin in big amount.

This rough estimate of how many Bitcoins you would need for your retirement fund depends on your lifestyle and living expenses and what the price of Bitcoin would be when you actually retire. If you lead a lavish lifestyle and the Bitcoin price has not satisfactorily risen you would need a lot more coins to meet your daily living standard. On the contrary if you are a modest person and the price has increased substantially you would need a lot less coins to have a very happy life. So if we assume the price would be $10 000 per Bitcoin everyone can make an estimate for themselves  Wink

You should say a number of bitcoin you think you would need to retire and multiply it by 2.5x so you know you will have enough as insurance or as backup to have if an emergency happens. Or enough to live comfortably without having to worry on where to get more if needed.

I`d probably settle for more then 1k.

I probably would need minimum 1,400 coins to really retire after buying a house.

And life expense after, for however long it last..

It will not ever happen for a single coin to be able to buy a house no matter how much speculation there is,its still impossible to attain.

I think you need 200 btc so you can live securely and be happy on your retirement. Its a best buy and good idea to invest bitcoin because the price is rising yearly and very sure with that your investment is at good state and you will earn more and more if it reach the time period of your retirement so stake now and be rich.

True that you cannot buy it through the coin but you can use the coin to get a large profit then just cash it out to buy a new house. But you will really need a lot of coins to feel the movement of price.

nice estimate, if we think the future according to the price trend of bitcoin and its adoption rate then only a few amount of bitcoin will we need to retire and to buy a house and to start a small factory which will be a source of extra income .

Why again to work after retirement? We need to enjoy our retired life with bitcoins as if price goes higher then we don't need to work anymore at old age.
