Is it possible to stake the coin and have the wallet encrypted yet?

This is just in case I download a file that's a RAT/virus.

I have absolutely had it with fudding pests on bct. If you continuously post the same fud over and over again, you shall be branded with a negative trust rating. BobSuprlus you might as well change your name to BobDeficit.

It is indeed possible, but the wallet will have to be unlocked first. Right now, the "Unlock Wallet..." menu item unlocks the wallet completely. If you want to unlock the wallet for staking only, you can do it via the console using:

walletpassphrase yourpassword 9999999 true

"9999999" is the number of seconds to keep the wallet unlocked and "true" tells it to unlock for minting/staking only.

wait what does Charlie Lee have to do with the situation? I missed tht part...link anyone?

He had been very vocal on reddit regarding the rollback - http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/2apsj7/litecoin_developers_will_never_fork_litecoin_to/

Also Patrick directly responding on the reddit - http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/2apsj7/litecoin_developers_will_never_fork_litecoin_to/ciy0wlp

Him and Charlie are related/family, so Patrick mentions and gives thanks to him, as they had offline conversations as well.

I don't see why people are getting so antsy about Charlie Lee on this thread... those discussions on reddit seem very well thought out and balanced.
both sides make very good arguments.

Charles lee said he wouldn't do that with litecoin and he would be right.

Litecoin wouldn't do what vericoin did simply because the effect of losing 30% of the coin supply has far less ramifications in the PoW world than it does in the PoS world.
furthermore rolling back such a large coin as Litecoin would cause far more damage than rolling back a tiny coin like Vericoin.

all in all the least destructive action was taken given the circumstances of this particular hacking incident.

So, its there already a consensum about which is going to be the most used exchange (volume wise) for VRC? What are your favorites?

Please consider one with advanced trading options such as stop loss / buy stop.

Thx,

Eth.

I think Bittrex should be the leading exchange, a volume almost 200 BTC and now the leading exchange.

Ironically, because of what just happened, I'm thinking that MintPal has been scared into becoming the safest at the moment.

But the real answer: buy from Bittrex.

Hopefully none of them evenly.  Keep coins off exchanges.

For Proof of Stake coins, exchanges should show what percentage of the total coins are being held on their exchanges.

No one with any ..well.. scruples will use MP. Their lack of judgement and quoted untruths as to how they handle coin storage, in combination with a SQL DB injection, scream to people that know.. that they are not capable of handling anything of value. They will slowly fade away.

Thanks guys, will defitely consider Bittrex, this is my opinion about it:

Devs - Solid backgrounds (if real Cheesy) and veterans in the field with important positions in the business that focus on security.

UI - Clean and modern, sorry to say but for me the UI is important also! ex. I love the functionality and gizmos of Poloniex but damn... eyes... hurt...!

Chart - I like the chart window, not bad, just a complain, is not possible to set the intervals of the candles to 15 or 30 mins? I just see 1h as minimum interval, any way to change this? BTW love the slider below the chart to acquire different time ranges, gotta hate the system in MintPal

Buy/Sell functionality - No buy/loss stop? :S Bit turnoff for me! Did I overlook something? Is it in the ORDER TYPE - CONDITIONAL tag?
Time in Force feat. is cool tho.

Fee - A .25% is a bit turnoff of a fee coming from the .15% MintPal :S On the other side, withdrawal fee for VRC... in MintPal .002VRC, in Bittrex 0.0002VRC

I'll see. If Order type - Conditional is indeed Buy Stop / Stop Loss function, will consider migrate there.

Enlighten me, Bittrex users Cheesy

I believe you are inebriated and/or did not understand the meaning of my post, I have no idea what you are fully trying to say.

But to reiterate, keep your Vericoin and/other PoS based coins off exchanges.

Exchanges should have on display what amount of coins (of the total amount of coins in existence for said coin) they are holding of any given PoS coin they have on their exchange.
