Mac:
We recommend deleting any current VeriCoin application if you have one.  Also delete everything but wallet.dat from user/library/applicationsupport/vericoin. Now put these two files in that directory as well: http://www.vericoin.info/downloads/vericoin.conf http://www.vericoin.info/downloads/bootstrap.dat.
Right click on "vericoin.conf.txt" and go to Get Info, now change the extension from "vericoin.conf.txt" to "vericoin.conf".  Open up the new VeriCoin install and you will sit at the splash screen for 30-60 minutes while the whole blockchain loads up.

Linux:

their security bugs...and fallen next much more secured exchanges were risen...

Poloniex, Bitcurex in had lost only 10% of all BTC...
Hacks on their systems were detected bankruptcy of MtGox strengthen preasure of
security systems of exchanges in end result.... It costed BTC few bilion $ market cap...
Gox moved BTC price from 800+ $ to 400$...

Whole situation give bad image for whole crypto and show how easy is make rollback...

Despite everything VRC started to protect itself...

Vericoin is not a coin that can be destroyed by 3-5 marauders who supposes themselves hackers like you, or by Mintpal who wishes to fool people.

It'll be too late for you when you realize this. Pnosker and EffecttoCause are young people who have skills. I think that they thought well enough before they leave their efforts to the marauders.

Even though they didn't think, it doesn't seem like that their genius phenomenon will suffer under your efforts.

Y'all are already looking death in the eyes... It would have been the best way to retain integrity of the blockchain.  It will be interesting to see if the people defending this coin will hold or dump.  Next few days will tell.

If preventing bank theft was as easy as the blockchain, you think a bank that had a vault theft wouldn't use the same logic if they could? Or do you think that they should let everyone that held money in the bank be hurt?

As much of a setback as this was. I got a feeling VRC about to lead efforts in this field to change the cryptos as we know it forever, I just got a feeling, you aren't dealing with some highschool drop outs. These guys have pattents in the real world. Which means 1 thing. They know how to solve problems, and create when nobody else in the entire world has.

When these guys put there mind to something, they will accomplish it. Thats what I trully believe.

What is bootstrap? mandatory to run this?

believe it helps the speed of your blockchain getting caught up. When you download wallet its an option to use the file or not.

+1. hopefully the future doesn't have as much theft as we have had in the past in crypto. But the devs in VRC give me faith that someday the consensus will figure out an acceptable way to prevent theft using the blockchain technology. Maybe one day we can make things like mount Gox the exception, not the rule.


It just happens to be the VRC team got thrust into this action this weekend. I will be looking forward in the weeks and months to come as we work to secure and grow our network.
