Been watching Aeon, Seem like it's on the up, though all the sells now on trex are profit taking then it will likely crash I guess, Still I will dip the toe at some point

im in and waiting for the possible add to poloniex. it will really then put it on people radar expect a quick rise to 50k then slow rise past monero

Hey, If devs are willing to be vetted to prove it's not scammy and is a real coin (no prob's) 1ex.trade is starting to add alts, new exchange based in Switzerland I think next week first Alts listed are DOGE, LTC and WBB good thing is they trade against 30 different fiats. Peeps in charge should contact 1ex to get added. It will be a strong exchange.

Still pretty experimental. I guess once these latest issues get resolved we'll have a new build to use. Until then unless you are prepared to build it yourself you'll have to wait a bit.

Just pushed some improvements to the GitHub - MoneroMooo is working with me on the disconnection issue now.

The improvements are for hashrate, as well as some better output, so far (NSFW): https://ottrbutt.com/tmp/aeonwolf-10262015.png

I've tried the new code. Hashrate is slightly lower on my 7950. It dropped from 701H/s to 680H/s.

I nicked the changed lines of code in the latest XMR miner main.c file and dropped it into the old (faster for me) code. This appears to be working in terms of the connection time out issue which is awesome - thanks!

Actually I spoke too soon. Reconnect did work once or twice, but then it stops reconnecting from what I can see, and starts having it's shares rejected.

Of course, I did botch the miner together, so that probably explains it. I'll wait for the real deal!

Rejected low diff shares are likely stales. I need to fix the timings in some of the waiting code, as well as some other shit (sleep(1) just doesn't cut it) - if it was disconnected, you would get no response at all.

I am assuming that you are referring to a Windows version.
Freshly compiled using Cuda 6.5, with support for all compute versions from 2.0 all the way up to 5.2, but untested.
You will definitely need a very recent driver.

Here you go:

I would be surprised if you were to report that it was mining fast  Grin

That is a low power mobile Nvidia chip, of the oldest generation still supported (Fermi architecture).
The fact that it can mine is neat and all, but it's certainly not going to be fast by any measure.

Should also note that generally speaking, CPU's are just as good (if not better) at mining Aeon than GPUs, much like so happens with the parent algorithm, Cryptonight. The performance balance between GPUs and CPUs might change eventually, as GPU miner development is very much active at the moment, but I don't expect that the scale will end up favoring GPUs (or not by much anyhow).

i pulled it off. just use the "compile monero" instructions in my sig, but replate the git clone with the aeon repository.

This is great, I got it to work. Thank you GingerAle.

Edit:

Do I need to backup the wallet files - or can I restore from anywhere with only and just only the seed?
Do I need to keep the wallet ID?

And, I compiled from aeonix/aeon - even though smooth's branch has 1 more commit. Should I compile from the aeonix branch or iamsmooths?

Shapeshift recently introduced a mobile app. I asked them to add trading support for Aeon (and Boolberry):

https://twitter.com/BBRcurrency/status/659577092997144576

In situations like this it may make sense to work together. Poloniex receives the most CryptoNote trading volume right now in part because they list the most CryptoNote coins (I think they should all Aeon). It makes sense for Shapeshift to support multiple CryptoNote coins.

Both Aeon (Bittrex) and Boolberry primarily on Poloniex (but also Bittrex and BTER) trading volume has been higher the last several days. Now is as good a time as any to push for additional exchange listings.

Is there someone who can give compiling my AEON miner a go for Windows? I did it once for the XMR version, but I really can't be fucked to do it again right now.

I wrote the source - I wanted it compiled for Windows.

i'm busy righ now but i'll do it in the evening.

[edit] Done. you can download and test binary here: https://github.com/Arux-BTT/wolf-aeon-miner/releases
i must clean up my repo (date aren't updated), the latest release is aeon_gpu_miner_c4e5f48.zip (commit c4e5f48 from wolf's repo)

it's better to perform test on mooo's pool, (i tried to patch mine to be compatible with fixed diff but it fails, i must look it closer)

i used old version of cryptonight-lite.cl, groestl256.cl, jh.cl and wolf-aes.cl in the initial zip uploaded at https://github.com/Arux-BTT/wolf-aeon-miner/releases
the error is now corrected, please download the actual archive and overwrite old files. Sorry.
