hope this coin gets into poloniex soon  Smiley
If you don't know the story, AEON started at poloniex 2 years ago...  Smiley
They still have a working wallet.
After then, AEON declined and they delisted it.
Today, i have more than i could mine, by buying on bittrex and cryptopia at cheap prices, so i don't really care if poloniex relist it it. Some day it wiill shine anyway.
To be fair, poloniex is my favorite exchange, but in the last year their choices were very conservative. They only add a coin for the profit it will bring to them.

i'm going to give it a shoot

on alt19.com they say that AEON market is currently 2,070 usd daily, not so bad.
so you have to put at least 5 or 6 K usd to give it a shoot !

this give us a yearly inflation around 20% give or take
How can it be?
The number of coins increases every year, and the block reward always decreases.
The yearly inflation must decrease accordingly because the ratio of old coins to the number of new coins increases Wink

It is close. 7344 coins/day is about 0.05595% per day or 20.42175% per year (ignoring compounding).

AEON is only in its third year and as with all normally-distributed PoW coins (not fast-mined/premined/instamined), the inflation rate declines slowly over the first several years. This is by design to ensure that plentiful coins are created and distributed for a significant period of time, and anyone who wants in can get in at reasonable prices, even they are didn't/don't happen to be around at the very beginning.

Inflation will continue to decline to about 1% by the eighth year.

I see no evidence of a fork. Daemon syncs as expected. Bittrex could just be performing server maintenance.

You can mine with a CPU or GPU. Use one of the pools on the first page of this thread.

How do you mine the cryptonight-light algo with a GPU? I thought it was only mineable on CPU's. Just asking because I don't know of any GPU mining software that supports cryptonight-light. Any information would be helpful. Also is there any talk of a web wallet? I love mining AEON but keeping the whole blockchain on my PC is not an option.

you can mine with amd or nvidia gpu.
amd case: actual miner is a mod of wolf's xmr miner. (https://github.com/wolf9466/wolf-aeon-miner). i cloned it and made a branch with latest xmr improvements here: https://github.com/Arux-BTT/wolf-aeon-miner/tree/improvements_from_xmr (higher hashrate). win64 binaries are available in releases tab. working good on former amd gpu (tahiti,etc...) but randomness result on ellesmere gpu (rx470/480)
nvidia case: there is a ccminer version, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=641696.msg12800804#msg12800804 , i didn't closely follow nvidia mining, better ask myagui for newer info, version etc...

Comparing the two, I'd say cryptonote AEON is the vaporware as it is not a genuine new blockchain software, as opposed to aeternity - built from scratch as i understood.

Maybe it didn't bring anything new when it was launched but that doesn't deem the coin to be replaced by what these guys are doing. Aeon has a community around it and you can't neglect the efforts put into it. The name was simply taken long before aeternity even decided to start this project. Anyway, their coin will be launched long after this announcement and many will surely lose interest.

It's brought a new more mobile friendly PoW so far, and will further differentiate itself from Monero by keeping mixin zero transactions for better prunability. At this point there is just a nonspecific white paper from the unlaunched token.
