Despite AEON being my favorite cryptonote mover I declare it as a futile dust bunny coz I fully invested in monero. Everyone who missed out on monero will bite their elbows in a month though Id leave open the possibility that other cryptonote anons will possibly follow xmr and take a ride too. Im not boasting about xmr being a better investment but I flawlessly predicted the price of monero one month back and shitheads from TV were hot on my heels after my forecast came true. The price movements in monero were consonant with my expectations. I cant say the same about AEON.

You must believe that XMR will rise to all time highs, how high are you predicting? Aeon has in the past rallied alongside monero. I hope it keeps doing this as I haven't sold me Aeon and am holding firm. Cryptonote FTW!

Aeternity still plans to base itself around our AE concept, potentially also using AEON as the ticker.

How do we deal with this?

Will the recent developments in XMR be transferred to aeon, like the GUI and RCT update? Is there a roadmap for 2017?

After missing the XMR but making good profit from BTC's recent pump I am going to make enetry in Aeon at level of price. I think XMR has done whatever it had to do now Aeon will be accumulated and pumped next. In spite of people claiming XMR will increase I do do agree anymore on that. Aeon is looking good at current price to me.

Why? Because transactions can be larger? I don't think this is a big issue for Monero, but less of an issue for Aeon where mixin 0 txs are still allowed, as it makes things pruneable, right?

Why not use transaction prefix only to calculate transaction ID hash like BBR, just do away with old ring signatures (when becomes a bloat problem)?

Monero RingCT transactions gave first results Smiley

DwarfPool.com stopped auto payouts - "Due to increased transaction fee after HF, payouts temporarily paused until we adapt the payout-system to the new monero-rules" Smiley

That can be done anyway for storage purposes, the same way Bitcoin does pruning, and is already implemented in AEON. The BBR approach has minimal benefit. You can sync faster but with a lower level of security (trusting other nodes instead of verifying everything yourself).

Right. Also, the AEON approach of allowing limited use of 0 mix and non-RingCT transactions would allow things like pool payouts where both tracing and hiding amounts is largely pointless (the blocks mined by the pool is generally public anyway, as are the payout transactions) to be done with lower cost. Or at least, they would bid for access to the quota of 0-mix transactions. My guess is that those slots would be most valuable to pools for cheap payouts, but I don't know. The market will sort it out.

I don't see RingCT or required mixing being a problem here at all. People who don't need it can opt out, as long as is kept under control and doesn't compromise the privacy of the chain as a whole. (I also agree it isn't likely to be a real problem for Monero either, but we will see. If usage explodes and blocks become too large that could be a concern, possibly.)

from this response I understand that AEON is not concerned by RingCT, said by certains to be a potential source of  problems for XMR..

We'll see how it works out. AEON's approach is somewhat different anyway.

Can someone please launch a MyAeon webwallet so I don't have to download the whole friggin blockchain? Hint hint Smooth hint hint. I've given up on the multicurrency wallets ever adopting Aeon. Don't know why but none of them have integrated Aeon. I haven't found a pool that allows mining Aeon direct to an exchange. So where does that leave me? Sadly, mining Aeon on Minergate's pool with Linux is my best option at this time and that kind of sux because I don't really trust Minergate.  Angry

i agree, some sort of myetherwallet analog would be fine, being less technical than simplewallet (and decentralized).
